My favorite is the gold uniform clad, shoulder length haired Athena that I am sure everyone knows who I am talking about but will not name as she had stolen sprites so speaking about her is taboo here.

I love it, I love making stages for Mugen and have started spriting a high res Saya because I feel the version that was in Nitro Royale could have looked a whole lot better.  My favorite modes are Team Arcade where you play with an AI, Survival, Watch and Team Co-op where you can play Arcade mode with a friend backing you up.

I am currently spriting a High Res Saya, I want to create Fuminori as a helper for a critical finish attack.  Would Fuminori's sprites have to use Saya's Palette?  I don't want him to change colors if Saya has more than one palette option.

you want to help me clean them?  ;D, There's about 50 or more frame :ninja:. but i'll add them next time i update the stage.

You should clean them up, 50 frames is not that much, try 201 frames and then you know what a lot is, that's what went into cleaning up Crystalline Cavern.

Actually, I do think there are great Touhou characters out there that are not projectile-spamming-overpowered-loli-bitches.
I just felt like that they have a stereotype of that way.

Kohaku aka Hisui's characters are like that, he/she has already made Tenshi, Marisa, Youmu, Meiling, Remilia, Sakuya, Utsuho and Sanae.  There are also ai patches to improve how they fight each other and each has a really well designed win screen.

IMO, anyone feeling depressed over being unable to visit their imaginary world needs at least too full cups of TOUGHEN THE FUCK UP each day ;)

I love it!!

Still, I sometimes get slightly depressed about worlds I wish I could live in.. but hey I must enjoy this life and then maybe I will live in a similar world in my next,  I can easily understand the attraction to the world in Avatar ( and I am not talking about the people) Pteranodon like creatures, floating mountains, Anemones and corals that grow on the surface.  Then again it is the same as when I played Final Fantasy 8 in 2000 and wished that I lived in a place like Balamb Garden.  However as I said before: 'hey I must enjoy this life and then maybe I will live in a similar world in my next'

It makes sense that the humans and the na'vi were evenly matched, the humans had to build those machines otherwise they would have been over-powered by the size and strength of the na'vi, did you see the size of those arrows?  It was like someone using spears as arrows!

Except that I have always followed games from the NES when I was in elementary school up till the Xbox 360 today.  There were many useless games on the NES but that was actually what made it fun, also you don't see things like 9 000 000 in 1 nowadays where it's actually 9 games with 1 000 000 variations which is actually quite funny.

The problem is that although as you say, today games get a lot more time when they're made, the problem is that there is nothing that really feels that new.  Medal of Honor was the first war style game that I played, and it feels pretty much the same as COD and Battlefield Vietnam, etc.. The only cool thing that happened in MOH was the Omaha Beach landing, Parachuting into the country side and driving a vehicle through the snow with tanks crashing through the trees.  I don't ever see anything like that in others.  I followed the improvement of graphics in awe but then instead of using the graphics in really cool ways they just started making the same things again and again, that is my complaint.  I think the problem is I want to see more platformers come out, ones that are more interesting than things like Crash Bandicoot and Banjo Kazooie.  Pandemonium was a very good 3d platformer.

I think I hit a nerve, wow, I never seen Titiln so angry! :D
hardly
Quote
In the past, game developers used to explore with creative ideas, creating great games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter 2, Ristar, Metal Gear Solid 1, etc. This happened during the Genesis/SNES and PSX/N64 era.

Now, look what you see nowadays; sequels. Countless, countless sequels
during that era, sonic got a bunch of games, street fighter 2 (already a sequel) got a shitload of different versions, and mgs is a sequel to the other metal gear games. why the fuck are you even complaining about sequels?
Quote
because the developers know that that certain IP will sell over 1 million copies. For example, Look at Call of Duty. Since 2006, they've released COD4, COD World at War, COD MW2.
most successful games back then also got a bunch of sequels, just like now. this is not new.
Quote
Whatever new IPs we've seen has been few
there have been several new ip attempts and most of them have flopped so developers turn to sequels instead, just like the in "old" era
Quote
and already they're turning into countless sequels such as Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.
why do you complain about successful games getting sequels
Quote
And because of sequels, the quality of the game goes down. How many times will you keep buying Madden and Halo? Its the same game but they sell over 1 million copies so they keep making them. And making them. And making them...
halo doesn't get yearly releases. madden has been getting yearly releases since 1992, the golden era you cherish so much. this isn't a new thing.
Quote
And you wonder why Sonic sucks nowadays.
because sega is terrible at making sonic games
Quote
And to make matters worse, you know what happens if a certain title doesn't sell over 1 million copies? That certain IP gets dumped!  >:( Look at Bionic Commando on the PS3. It was a mediocre game that recieved an blow-average score of 6.5. Instead of Capcom working in the future to make that title better, they instead save their money by dumping the series in general.
if a game has been tainted by mediocrity it's not a good idea to follow up with a sequel. people aren't likely to buy a sequel of a game they thought sucked. would you go see a sequel to a movie you didn't like?? maybe you would give it a chance, but most people wouldn't. that's why it's not a good business decision at all
Quote
Now you see why I've said this:
yeah because you have no idea of things

He/She is correct though, the thing is that those games had a set level for graphics, so more time was spent on fun gameplay.  Nowadays it's all about graphics and how realistic it is and less about game-play.  one of my favorite games of 2008-2009 is left 4 dead, why? Well although it has good graphics (though not as good as others) it's what you are doing in the game that is different, stepping into a world similar to Resident Evil 2 or 3 (the best ones) with a feeling like Dawn of the Dead and 28 days later, running for your life, proper coop where you and your friends have to defeat the monsters together, although environments are good, realism ie: aiming, weapons, etc are left by the wayside unlike COD, etc..  Which actually makes the game more fun than COD.

What he means is nothing will stop the attack, when you counter something you can usually stop the move and maybe hit back with something of your own but you can't that with this character so it can't be countered.

(dont effin think ill steal them and post them up as my own)
i dont even know how to make chars(i dont have that much spare time...lol)
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

What the?!  Are you serious?  Get new characters then!  It is not difficult at all!  You know when I was in high school people used to laugh at me because I loved playing Sonic and said things along similar lines..  Do you think I cared?  Guess what? Years later all of those people that said those things are hardcore gamers.  maybe your friend is jealous because he doesn't have Mugen or doesn't know how to use it.  Back to what I said before, get new characters, there are lots of people that make characters that are incredibly good, probably better than the ones you want back.

These are Flash0Fire joypads.  They are very sturdy and have been working perfectly well since I bought them almost 2 years ago, They are very helpful when it comes to performing attacks, etc.
