Hi,

We release SeiyaHR beta 1 for winmugen plus.









Beta 1 is with french voices (cause most of us are french...). English voices and HD portraits (for BrokenMUGEN HD) will follow. We have included the black seiya palette in the zip.

You can download SeiyaHR on http://www.brokenmugenhr.com in the new characters section.

Enjoy :)

(Don't ask "where i can find this stage", it is one of our wip. It will be released soon.)

The fonts will be modified. The main objective of this early release is to give to guys a working engine to develop HD stuffs.
As said Jorch, to fit perfectly, lifebars have to be HD, there is none for the moment.
But the engine is compatible with LR and HR lifebars because of the double coordonate system of the fight screens.
You can modify the fonts of the fight screen in the fight.def in the data/broken98/ directory.

You're right, It should have been a good idea to buy another domain but it is too late. We are known worldwide for our projects, brokenmugenhr name is implemented on our videos, on our screenshots, on our wallpaper and on our engines....
Because We made the brokenmugen "hr" adaptation and because we are proprietary of the domain, we think it is justified to keep the name. "broken" is a generic term which mean "hack3d", it's not a personal name like "duracelleur"... And to create BrokenMUGEN HD, we have "broken" the mugen source code, so... it is at least as justified than using "mugen" term, which is copyrighted....

You're right one more time  :). We don't release game anymore.BrokenMUGENhr full game is offline... We only have our 2 engines online. There is no char, no stage in BrokenMUGENhr engine. We asked in mugen discussion if we could create a beginner pack with few goods chars and few goods stages promoting their creators (one pots char, one vyn char... and their url if beginner want to have more). We've been bashed by stupid people who doesn't want to open mugen to reals nabs... BrokenMUGEN HD engine have 3 demos chars adapted to HD res and 2 HD stages. There is 93 free slots...
The only "game" we officialy host on brokenmugenhr.com is street fighter 2 HD remix (which is not HD but HR...) and is a compilated untweakable mugen with an integrated filtering system...

BrokenMUGEN HD engine is not slower than winmugen plus. So with the sames chars and the sames stages, there is no difference... :)
Even, HD stuffs will globaly be heavier than HR stuffs because there is 4 times more pixels...
Specs are the same than winmugen plus : proc 1 ghz (PIII type), 512 Mo RAM, 128 Mo graphic card.
So you just will have to check the size of the stuffs you include. For example, the 2 HD stages we include are light (between 2 and 3 megs) and are as fast than most of HR stages (some HR stages do 50 MO...). But the HD_Redcat we include is heavy and do 97 Mo.
So, for example, remove the HD_redcat and include a lighter char, you will improve the perfs... doing this, you can have a BrokenMUGEN HD as fast than your winmugen plus. ;)

When you say work, you just count picture worktime realisation or all the others ideas we tried before to arrive to this result ?
As we said, it respect BrokenMUGEN HD graphic chart, there is some work behind, even it is simple. (To break the HD Logo and include his frame in hakuman hands, giving impression letters are falled is not the first idea we tried...)
The image is dynamic in my ,higly subjective, opinion. It give impression hakuman is arriving and breaking the HD Logo to fight with the broken frame...
Just to obtain a good idea take some times and is some works (except for genius). That's called brainstorming.
Sometimes you take some times and make some works for no result at all... We have a result, sad you don't like it... :P

I know some nabs doesn't know the technical difference between statics screenpacks and BrokenMUGENhr but it is an HUDGE.
two4teeze's Broken Mugen system.sff is more than 700 sprites, brokenmugenhr system.sff is more than 1200 sprites, we resized all the fonts, redefine the def...

You think there is no effort ? Lot of mugen players were asking for broekn mugen winmugen plus compatibility worldwide since long time.
Why nobody released a patch before ? technically impossible. Why nobody made the adaptation ? too complex, too much work.
BrokenMUGENhr adaptation took 4 months devs. Without two4teeze works it should take one more year.

Why do you think BrokenMUGEN HD is the first debugged D8 Mugen ? It is magic ?  :sugoi:

We bring the better add-value we can with the less efforts we can, that's called efficiency. Inverse is stupid.

On taito type x², yes. The rom cost 2000 $. On ps3 and xbox, no. It will be in japan the 25/06/2009.
BrokenMUGEN x² project (initial name of BrokenMUGEN HD) was initially forecast to "break" taito type x² 2D fighting game. We renamed the engine BrokenMUGEN HD because we think HD will become the generic term in the mugen community about 1280*960 res. Maybe it will be D8 or other thing but we think it will be HD...
And, as we start to "breaking", we prefer to avoid the "x²" term... useless correlation, in case of...

That the main philosophical problem we have here, Cadia. Why redo all the time the same work ?
A .fnt file exist with the police we like, we don't loose time to recreate a copy of it.
Like because we thank two4teeze broken mugen was by far the best mugen screenpack. It was more interesting to the community, for the same worktime, to have the best screenpack winmugen plus adaptation than another shitty screenpack with statics screens...
We try to really improve Mugen. Really. We don't release Kyo number 35. There is no add-value.
We only release mugen stuffs (edits or no) which have nothing comparable.
Our next Release are freezaHR (Alienqueen edit) and SeiyaHR. When you check what release does all the guys who make morals advice : another LR char who have such releases you can't trace the origins...
One time we have seriously traced releases of a well known char developer who was accusing us of "steal". All his sprites were stealed and since this time, he's a nice guy with us... We won't trace all the stealers of the mugen community, there is too much.

We have all the HakumanHD and V13HD sprites (don't ask how we obtained them ^^). We decided to develop HD chars to support BrokenMUGEN HD and we choosed the 2 we liked the most because, as we know, we was the first to start development.
We know that, in asia, some developers want to reduce some blazblue chars sprites to adapt them to HR. We think it's better to keep their full res because now, there is a mugen supporting it...
We hope that people will develop the others blazblue chars (and not the 2 we choosed) and they will keep the original Blazblue HD resolution. (Downscale the sprites sucks...)
If somebody develop another HakumanHD or V13HD and release it before us, it will be 2 hakumanHD or 2 V13HD available. But we hope we will be the first to release them :).

We will extremly care that nobody (like a fake beta tester...) will warhouse our work like it happened with our seiyaHR and our freezaHR (Alienqueen edit) betas....SeiyaHR is not released yet because of this incident.

As we said, we released "edits" first cause they need less work time... We would prefer to have finished our HD chars next week...  :sugoi:

Just one thing i wanna ask. You know how Winmugen plus doubles the size of the menu screen say if i put in a 320x240 sprite BG it would double this to 640x480. Does the menu on Winmugen HD have the same properties?

The answer is no. Winmugen plus switch between 320*240 and 640*480. BrokenMUGEN HD switch between 640*480 and 1280*960.

The menu is 640*480 only. This res have to be native.

for spack, fonts...

Menu : winmugen plus is 640*480, broken mugen HD is 640*480
Select : winmugen plus is 640*480, broken mugen HD is 1280*960 (640*2 by 480*2, 4 times more pixels)
VS screen :winmugen plus is 320*240, broken mugen HD is 640*480
Fight screen : winmugen plus is 640*480; broken mugen HD is 1280*960

Except the res, nothing change. :) Pixels Sizes and coordonates just have to be adapted.

TY, we will try TestP chars. We don't want to steal anybody. Just one char by creator and the creators urls indicated on the site, the readme and the release if noobs like a char and want some others by the same creator.
