I think it'll look a lot more authentic if the entire sword swing wasn't in one frame. You could have a frame where the sword hits the ground, one in the middle of Trunks slashing through the ground, and then have the final frame with Trunks having the sword in the air, before he sheathes it.

Then again, in MUGEN itself it might look good as is, so idk

Sagat, Bison and Demitri would all be great. I actually play as Bison on almost everything and he's my favorite character, but Demitri would be the best (and most difficult) choice.

It seems to be that the most common mistake for people who try to emulate this style is that they start off with a Budokai 3 stance and try to run with it instead of analyzing the actual style and gaining a general understanding of how it works. Seems to happen every time.

Convoluted stories and plot exposition that doesn't make sense. This is usually because:

1. I need to play a previous game, which I hate in most cases because it should be clearly explained to me anyway. Maybe have it mean something to people who did play it, but I see no reason why I can't just jump in and be immersed.

2. The game was originally japanese so that specific part makes no goddamn sense due to translation or something.

3. The developers are full of shit and decided to pull something out of their ass.

I think Gen being a hard character to use is a facade, once you get over the fact that he has two stances it's not so bad. He's much easier to use than the likes of Viper, Yun, Dudley, Adon, Dhalsim etc. etc. etc.

Well I've been coding an up to date version of Tristan, but I haven't incorporated any Last Bout specific stuff (like the guages). He is 4 button, throw button, 3 supers. I changed one of his old specials into a command normal and changed the properties of some other specials. I could start by sending you the new version for some testing. Sound okay?

Also, Just Defend sounds good, too. So, in this case, the reward would be a tiny bit of life back as well as defense meter build?

Sounds good. Also, I don't know about life restoration as a universal feature though I don't really think that's the way to go about it. Just a solid defense meter build would do IMO.



edit: I just thought about this, but it's something to consider. One thing I've always liked about SF3 is that certain (or all I'm not sure) characters gain special attributes for taunting. Ever thought about adopting something like that? Like having taunts boost attributes or having them act like Angry Scar does on SF4 where it enhances/changes a special move? Something to consider

Assassins' Creed Revelations

About 2 hours in. Not sold on it quite yet.

One of the better AC games alongside Brotherhood and 4. If you don't like it, you won't like the other games in the series pretty much.

1 and 3 are actually the worst games in the series (imo but objectively speaking they might be the worst anyway.)

Yes Cazaki, I would love your help throughout the testing phases. I really want the game to be balanced and have depth. I want someone who can really analyze the properties of every move, even normals. I need to find that training character that Kame uses that helps with frame data. I've always relied on Magic series and universal values for hitstun and what not, but I want to get really in depth with this one.

Great, because that's how I prefer FGs anyway. Just know that when you sprite your characters, try to steer clear of standards, you know. Envision PURPOSE behind every move you sprite, especially for characters like the grapplers or Bryce who have specialty fighting styles. Normals can really make a character unique, even if they have glaring weaknesses in certain aspects. Sometimes it's easy to think that a character couldn't function if x move couldn't do this, or that. Don't stick to that mentality, and you'll be fine.

As you design the characters and you want a second opinion about how the character should play, shoot me a PM if you like.
