Well. Thanks for the kind words. I s'pose I'll finish off my sprite now. In a way it's too bad: I was hoping for more, uh, serious contestantship. For the record, though, it still beats the ARCoolguy-bashing contest. Pretty sad when that's the popular contest.

You are welcome ;)  I've got good news for you. I've received a new sprite from a serious contestantship :) He made Lio Messi and the sprite can be seen in my web page. I won't say his name if he doesn't want it. Thanks for participating.

I need a screenpack for more than 500 chars. Which one do you recommend?

I never sent anything to you, that's a bad joke . . . problem is that 80% of the spriters simply don't care about sports, I understand the ranking and stuff was well-intentioned, but you can't simply show up and say "hey the best spriter gotta do this" because that's not the way it works.
Example: Mod Shamrock thought it'd be a good idea to make a contest about MJ, but apparently didn't get people interested.

Well, I'm happy you understand that I'm well intentioned. I know and I agree with you that it's not easy to get people interested in contests, but well some guys are interested in this one, and we'll go on with the contest because that's what those who said were going to participate deserve. Like the great sprite Captain_Alpha_Bravo did, he deserves to win this contest unless a better sprite appears. As regards the joke sprites I was sent, I'll eleminate them now.

I don't want enemies, in fact i DON'T HAVE enemies, so forget about getting that spot, now . . .
This contest was doomed from the very beginning. Long story short, you appeared from the fogs of fucking nowhere in a flame topic stating that the best spriter should be able to make a rendition to your favorite figures of sport, in form of sprites  :D!
See? That's flawed to begin with . . . you know, there's a reason why there's a contest suggestion topic, and before every contest a poll is made so spriters willing to enter decide between these months proposals. Call it a crazy kamikaze guess, but also I'd believe you're from Argentina, or at least from some southamerican country.
Anyway, the contest I linked you to is based on making the worst sprite, I supposed you'd get the joke, but don't feel bad ... i swear 60% of the time people here don't get the jokes i make  ;)

I wanted to do a different kind of contest. I want to have a ranking of the best spriters, and some people (not you obviously) liked that. So, there's nothing bad about it.
It's partially true that appeared from nowhere, because I really've been reading the guild for a long time, so I finally decided to register, but I did that on purpose, because I wanted to make a real ranking and to show some conceited boastful guys that they are not even between the best ten spriters in the guild.
As for the rest of your comments, I'm not from Argentina, I'm from Brazil.I'm not interested in people making me sprites, I just suggested two famous people (Nadal wasn't suggested by me). I do not make chars, I just download them. I don't know how to use Fighter Factory or any of those. (if you want you can suggest names of people to be sprited for the next contest if you don't believe me I'm not interested in having specific sprites).
And of course I realised your post was a joke you made, but mine is not. I want to do something serious.
Was you the guy that sent the bad sprites to my e-mail? Were you using a different name, to make a joke on me or something?...

Well, I'm happy you're not interested in being my "enemy" here. I hope I fully answered your comments... And as I said before, some people like my post, so let us live, and if you want to participate, you know what you have to do ;)

check this topic to know what real sprites look like
http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=101367.0

Cooper: I don't know what is your problem with me. I've seen in the Spanish forum that you speak bad things about my topic, contest and ranking. And now you criticise the topic here. But I want to tell you that I'm not your enemy, I want to be your friend (Yo no quiero ser tu enemigo, yo quiero ser tu amigo). THAT'S WHY I tell you that we can join and be friends and organize or make contests togheter ;)

Come on. I may accept the sprites I received are not so good excepting for two of them (I also might think that somebody sent them on purpose to make me a joke). But, all in all, some of them are better than some sprites you received:

Is this a real sprite as you said?

This is a poor.

Is this a real sprite as you said?

This is a joke too. Isn't it?

That's why Cooper, I'll repeat it:  "I want to tell you that I'm not your enemy, I want to be your friend (Yo no quiero ser tu enemigo, yo quiero ser tu amigo). THAT'S WHY I tell you that we can join and be friends and organize or make contests togheter."  ;)

To all those who participate, remember to send the sprites to my e-mail: supergarrocha@gmail.com   so they will be posted anonymously and then voted (to avoid speculation and t make the contest fairer). The authors of each sprite will be known after voting. Remember that you can send them before July 20th.

supergarrocha: check your e-mail inbox,  today I sent you my sprite to win this contest.  ;)

You are participating. Your sprite is the fifth I've received so far.

To the rest: last ten days of the contest.

wait, so who's deciding the winner?

actually, who assigns the points per contest?

Hi C00per. Well, as I said before:
"Choose one of the following guys, make your sprite and everybody will vote the best sprite done in a poll. I will not be the only one who chooses the winner, it will be everybody" However, by everybody I mean all the people who participate and send sprites, plus me who will also vote, but will not make any sprite. I will be the organizer.

You will have to vote the sprites by sending me an e-mail to supergarrocha@gmail.com . This will be done in this way to avoid speculation. Once all competitors have voted, I will count all the votes and then post the results here. I will also post which sprite each person voted. This is to make the contest fairer.

As regards the points that will be useful to the ranking positions, this is the order:

the winner will have 25 points
the second  20 points
the third     15 points
the fourth   13 points
the fifth      11 points
the sixth     10 points
the 7th       9  points
the 8th       8 points
the 9th       7 points
the 10th      6 points
the 11th      5 points
the 12th       4 points
the 13th       3 points
the 14th       2 points
the 15th       1 point

This will be the punctuation for every constest. So in that way there will be a ranking of the best spriters in mugenguild that want to participate.
I hope I fully answer your question ;)  Will you participate c00per?

Do the sprite have to be with the person alone or do they have to have a racket, a tennisball or a football?

Well, you know, the more complete the sprite is, the more chances of winning it may have. Because it will probably seduce people to vote in favor of it. But, it is not compulsary to have a racket or a ball, or whatever extra thing you may think of adding them. Good luck.

Hey, and where're Fernando Gonzalez and Humberto Suazo?? :sadgoi:

Hi Basara Yuki. I suppose you're chilean. The two guys you name are great sportsmen. But you know, the contest cannot have more than 3 options to be sprited. So there're more limits. So to answer why are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Lionel Messi the options in this contest:
- The first two are the best two tennis players of the decade (2000-2009).
-As regards Messi, He was chosen the best footballer in the UEFA champions league and is considered (along with Cristiano Ronaldo) the best football player in the world.

But, don't worry. You can draw Peña Gonzalez or Suazo to show as your sprites, but out of competition. Next month, for the next contest you may propose possible models to be sprited. I hope you participate all the same. Thanks for posting.  ;)

well, but I think this would be difficult to rank, cause sometimes KOF styled sprites are harder than Hires (ggxx) ones, cause the lack of details is not always good... by the other hand, too much detail could mess your sprite...

not sure if I'm gonna enter, but I will see soon...

There are no restrictions as regards styles for this first contest. It's up to you the style you want to use. Thanks for posting, and let's hope you participate.

Yeah, I wanna ask the same as Captain Alpha bravo. Are there any restrictions? Should I draw Messi with The Barcelona T-shirt or with the Argentinian one? Or should I choose?
You can choose the t-shirt. Remember not to use more than 20 colours and not to draw a bigger sprite than 150 x 244.
