9.0, for not patching Syo.

That is the patched Syo.  I just changed the portrait back to Ahuron's, 'cause for some reason I like it better than the smiley Syo (blasphemy, I know).

Now can I have that extra point to make it an even 10?   :lugoi:

9.6/10 because Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 big portraits aren't the correct size

Then you won't like this shot.  Actually, I changed their default portraits simply for this awesome visual.   :sugoi:  That, and I mostly didn't like the 2k2UM art Jin was using.

9.5/10, just because all small portraits aren't the correct size. :P

HEY BLAME MOUSER (kim) SANDER (chizuru) AND H" (brian) FOR THAT (actually I've been meaning to fix those myself anyways and i've got some free time so i'm probably gonna do it).  Hell, I'll probably change up a few more small portraits while I'm at it (did anyone notice the 99 portrait for Sander's Beni and the new portraits for Sepp's Boxer and Chun?) and maybe change the Syo portrait back to the smilin' one.  Maybe.

Also! That's OKOF97's 2k3 screenpack that I personally modified for WinMUGEN Plus.  Mostly resizing and stuff, but it now has an actual randomselect icon.

Regarding the Suikoenbu stage and it's lack of super-jump: which Saturn emulator are you using to rip?  Satourne works for getting complete BG rips, including the parts seen only when the screen zooms out.  I'm not sure if Satourne runs the first Suikoenbu game (never gotten it to work), but it can run the sequel Suikoenbu Fuun Saiki, which has pretty much all of the same BGs.

Thrift stores are usually good for that kind of stuff, and you won't have to pay an arm and a leg.

Animation to bigportraits and winquote portraits.

As a matter of fact.. winquote portraits could have a randomizer where you can select to pull from number X to Y , and the portrait is selected randomly from that heap, and something that pinpoints a specific portrait to go with a specific quote.

Just like in Garou?  I like this idea.   :2thumbsup:

Personally, I'd love to see even more stage options, aside from PotS's previously mentioned suggestions.  Basic stage interactivity (i.e. crashing into SF2 Guile boxes/Ken barrels/etc.) is something I always wanted to see without having to add needlessly overcomplicated coding to characters.  In fact, that's all I'm officially asking for.   ;D

Whether or not it'll usher in "a new age of mugen" as some of you put it, Just happy to see something new from that end.

'sgonna be fun on a bun

Whatever happens, fun sexy haps ahead are a given.

I agree with these mans.  Hell, I'm just happy to see Elecbyte give stages more flexibility and options, from what I'm gathering from reading teh docs and scouring the new def files.   :sugoi:

Shit. I was about to call it a night, too...  So far, everything's a-ok, as far as I know.   Well, except for the fact that it doesn't apparently render tiled parallax floors.  There goes my Fighters Megamix stages, as well as a few others.  :(  NEVER MIND JUST SAW CYANIDE'S POST.  I think sffv2 might be the answer there.

Some stages cause more lag than others, as well.  More investigation after I do things like sleep and life.

moar edits:

New stage parameters?  Interesting...these would explain why the stages I tested seemed cut-off at the top and bottom.

Code:
 ;Number of pixels beyond the top and bottom of the screen that may
 ;be drawn.  Overdraw specifies the how much can be seen during an
 ;EnvShake.  Overdraw pixels will also be used when the screen aspect
 ;is taller than the stage aspect.
overdrawhigh = 0
overdrawlow = 0

 ;Number of pixels into the top and bottom of the screen that may be
 ;cut from drawing when the screen aspect is shorter than the stage
 ;aspect.  These parameters suggest a guideline, and the actual
 ;number of pixels cut depends on the difference in aspect.
cuthigh = 35
cutlow = 25

I am excited yet angry that there's more things I have to consider while making stages!  I AM A LAZY MAN AFTER ALL.  Also:

And suddenly we need new tools, can't really check out the new SFF with the old ones.

Agreed!

even moar edits after reading the docs:

SHIT.  There's even more things I didn't catch for stages the first time around.
