I do have that Liu Kang in my roster and I had a few issues with it.

1. His stance looks too much like Fei-Long and Liu Kang never looked like Fei-Long.
2. The version I have is pretty poor because of it's lack of sprites, especially is knockdown sprites.

I've been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat 9 and was wondering how many characters you intend for this project and whether you intend of implementing a storyline for it, I think it needs one due Mortal Kombat having a hefty storyline.

Also I think you need to implement fatalities because very few Mugen Mortal Kombat characters have them and Mortal Kombat characters need fatalities.
Um...did you even try the new version?  Your describing the one by shazzo, the 6 button one that had horrible things on him.
An author by fabry taz made one from scratch almost and he made more sprites for him. He plays like a binho character now and has been given a different stance,supers,specials an 5 fatalities.

Look in his cmd file for the fatalities, an easy fatality input is

some progress on sub zero. Have around 20 of his 200+ sprites done.

Lui kang has gotten a sprite makeover, you can expect news of that soon.

why not get new voice acting?
That probably would be more beneficial...its just I wouldn't know who would be willing or have that kind of voice. Im a voice actor myself, but my voice isn't high enough to portray the champion. I don't suppose maybe you would know of anyone who would fit the description?

Scorpion's chest could use some editing but design wise everything is okay.

Judging from the gameplay videos... I think the characters should scream less.
We are working on new sound packs. Lol trust me when I say im no big fan of lui kang screaming every waking moment he punches/kicks/runs.

the best thing to do would be to actually base the sprites off the actual MK2,MK3,and UMK3 ones. the way Liu's arms are backwards while flying, or bicycle kicking are screwy. makes me not wanna take him seriously. that and add more frames.

another thing I notice is Liu tends to miss with both moves when too close and he jumps too high..

!)give him slightly more startup to the move

2)more frames

3) tuck in his arms like the MK2, MK3 sprites and he'll look more like himself doing the kicks.

4)basically add more frames and make him look less like Fei Long and more like the Champion of Mortal Kombat...
  Now when you say more frames Zombie, do you mean to the flying kick or to the whole character as a whole.  Im really liking these suggestion, I think I will re-work some sprites to meet those requirements. for the flying kick. As for making him look more like lui kang, The best we can do at the moment is take one of binho's lui kang sprites and use the head he made made and replace it over the fei long-looking one.

Im guessing you downloaded the one I just posted.  Watch this video please, this is the 11th revision of the character, the one I linked is the 2nd rendition, so I do believe most of which you suggested has already been addressed to except the flying kick sprites.

Cant give the link to the one in the video, but I assure you it is very superior to the 2nd revision.  I think you will notice that while watching the video.

Also work on new sprites are in progress. I gotta tell you, im liking the feedback, its helping make this character more accurate and better.

Thank you for the advice man. Binho was a part of the roots of the project at one point, but he had other commitments to attend to. So to answer your question, yes we are using his sprites and no he is presently not working with us. Its more of a tribute to him, making the characters as if he made them himself and we have all the necessary permissions. As far as gameplay, we have nailed it down to a certain  point. If you want to try our first versions/beta ill go ahead and link you in a bit(It will give you a good idea of what we are going for). 

By the your ermac is looking rather flawless, very nice touch with the mk9 attire.

if yer refering to that big Iron-man MvC edit version of Sektor I probably could do something. but really I'd consider revamping the sprites to look something like this



I take the actual MK3 sprites, scale em down to Capcom(CvSish) size, outline the shapes of the features and go from there...I could put up how I do it later in a tutorial topic or something.

also if yer refering to the MK Requiem project you should definitely try doing the sprites in this style. Binho's work was great and the sprites have potential if yer making an MvCish game but I like CvSish a bit more. btw the colored lights are an extra detail I added so the Cyborgs look more like...well Cyborgs instead of just guys in a modified dirtbike armor
All in due time my friend. In the meantime ill prepare a small script. Also the MKR project was somewhat cancelled in favor of a better project dubbed "MK:Prize Fighter". Basically the same project, but scaled down and revamped with a tweaked fighting system very similar to mk9(All Crap character edits have been scrapped and now we are making our own characters in style of binho) . We have been getting so many requests to change the sektor/cyrrax sprite by shadow dio, and in time we will.  Its just we are focused on the male ninja's, giving them different/revamped sprites. Then we improve the females design and  last but not least the cyborgs.  I can tell your a very passionate about mortal kombat, which is why your working on ermac and reptile.  Speaking of which, the  game play resembles some of the cvs-ish gameplay and the sprites we are re-working something more of a cvs-ish type. Maybe in the near future we can enlist you as a sprite artist if you would be interested. Looking forward to that sprite tutorial, it would help us me and a few others for sure. Those are pretty good sprites of sektor, cyrax and smoke.

Excellent work progress. By anychance would you consider doing some voice acting for a certain  cyborg ninja...cough"sketor" cough. Don't know if you checked, but the oregettin mugen team is working on a mk game with cvs/mvc looking sprites. You sir, did a great job voicing sean's sub zero,  and we would be honored if you would consider doing some voice acting for us to.

sorry to interfere, but are you guys sure you are going to use these cyborg sprites? they are much like out of the rest roster style. compare that cyborg to your kung lao or kano, you will see what i mean. their arms and legs would need some fixes to fit the common style. also, do you plan to do the cyborgs mk9 style?

Your very well known in the MKP community and we greatly respect your notice and interest.  yeah, we will be doing them in a mk9-ish sprite style. For the time being though, we are focusing our attention on the human characters. Since it is just me, Requiem and another person spriting at a slow and easy pace, it will take some time before we address cyrax and sektor.

Please post only about the project and not on lame feuds or whatever.
I assure you my Good man, there is no such act of immaturity going on. I am a current enlisted sprite artist and co-producer, I came here to update a few things.

(Current versions of said characters. Still in development, we will attempt to make kitana stand out a bit more sprite wise after we finish with some other sprites first. Goro version 4 has been updated, still trying to fix bugs. Feedback from beta testers is helping shape this character much better.)


(Current versions of Cyrax and Chameleon. I think after we nail down some more gameplay mechanics, we will be just fine. Have yet to show video of Cyrax, as we are still working on a few things. )

And a brief video of the current version of Kitana. We don't show too much of her move set here, but it is a great start for us. She will be given some minor  changes in gameplay in the future and concepts are still in the works.

It looks like you haven't improved at all since 2009, and Kung Lao was pretty terrible so that's not good.
That just proves your arrogance. The people working on this have worked very hard and are still working very hard to make this the best it can be. They are taking their time to make the sprites for new characters, improve the fighting system and make everything feel as smooth and natural as a real fighting game should. Unlike some people, we don't focus on the past, we man up and learn from our mistakes and work towards the future.

These are some great characters, very fluid and I like the different move-set, it gives the user something new to play with/master. Ill be keeping a keen eye on all of your future releases.

You guys should really be more specific about what is actually "broken". How about specifying and being helpful by listing things you think he should/should not change. Providing examples helps gentlemen.

I have an older version of gouken that I use, and I have yet to give this version a whirl. Seeing as that there wasn't much helpful positive/or negative input about changes or whats not changed, I will have to give it a try myself.

Well I downloaded this and there are some interesting changes. I cant really put my finger on it, but I think the last version of Gouken before January of this year was bit more fluid. There is this person named Ristar who had compiled a mugen SF4 game. He had ask you for permission once to use your character, the Gouken included in that game seemed a bit more stable. I see some of the same things(most of which are good) such as effects. Also I suggest you make the character portrait smaller and make it proportionate to that of the KFM default Portrait . Well so far that's my two cents on the matter Mr. Lexus, I have yet to give him more attention. From what I understand and observed over the evolution of this character, you have tried to cater to others needs. I think you should just do you man, and if I may suggest ask around at the infinite mugen forum for some...different feedback that will probaly be more helpful than certain other places. Good luck with your other projects, Asura seems very promising.
