I love the character? Bad guy or Good Guy?

And the level reminds me "somehow" of that old game, Pandemonium, don't ask me why. :S

Funny thing is I had a simhilair idea of a character, but the roles would be switched, the puppet is in lead with the uh, controller(?) in the back. The idea was that the puppet the player uses has NO special abilities, just common moves, so the player has to guide the controller right so she can use her swift special moves for the bigger puppet to pummel them. :)

El magnifico is sort of neutral but the nature of what he does is evil. he is a entertainer for vampires but yet at the same time he despises them and considers humans pathetic. he is basically a power hungry "thing" since nobody knows what the fuck he is and will do anything to become stronger. (typical villain) ;)

cool idea, but the puppet behind el magnifico is literally just a lifeless puppet, it has no self awareness at all it, the only degree of awareness it may have is in the power el magnifico possesses it with.

Speaking of characters, how's the chatting about Shishiko?

shishiko is a cool character but as you know I got tons of stuff to do for my project so anything else will come last.

This is probably my most advanced stage yet,  it took me 3 days to complete.

Haha, 3 days to me doesn't seem long to have done all that good work!

3 days is a very long time for me i normally get them done in a day. ;D

Ben, as usual this is another KILLER STAGE! Just beautiful! ...and the music blends so well.
Great job on that.

Now for feedback.
- I find that your character placement is way too low. Don't know if its a standard on your fullgame but for the sake of mugen globalization I changed it to zoffset = 182 and it looks like this.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

- The shadow issue mentioned earlier needs to be tackled otherwise it looks unrealistic and bad. There's quite a few ways you could do this, the easiest being changing the shadows to appear behind the characters, but since I see you want them right beneath their feet I came up with the following alternative keeping in mind the zoffset values I applied.

[Shadow]
intensity = 96
color = 0,0,0
yscale = .176
fade.range = -50,-5

With the above code your shadows do not go under the bridge any more, even when characters jump.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

- With 3D stages parallax is even harder to get right. In this stage it is very loose, so that's another thing you may want to correct...but hey, I've seen way worse.
- and the last issue I know you already mentioned here, but I just wanted to show a reference screenshot of what it looks like with the zoffset values I applied. You may want to cut that right edge some so this doesn't happen.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

I look forward to your fullgame and more of your amazing creations.

thanks for the feedback, I prefer your character placement and will definately use that in the final version. The shadow code also looks better then my standard one. Also for the paralaxing what would you suggest because no matter how much I raise or lower it the BG paralax always seems to have a slight lag effect and repeat the background during certain ranges of the delta.

also in the actuall sff file, their is a railing that you can add in with delta.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
copy this code in front of the other delta code and the railings appear, I found that it obstructs the view of the fight but you can always add transparency to it if you want.

Aw, no audience? But I love the night version.

And... is that a new char?

thanks, nope, no audience in this, I wanted it to be a nice peaceful scene with just nature  ;D
no tsumiko is not a new character thats the very first character i posted on the guild
her thread is here http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=120212.0

the night version wont be released until the fullgame is done

I believe there's a code that makes shadows not appear after a certain distance, and you probably need to apply it.
what? not sure how this applies to me or the stage?

Nononono, I was'nt refering to Tsumiko about the new character, I meant that heavymetal rockstar skeleton like figure on one of the screenshots.

Tsumiko I know, he(she?) was the ninja using drunkenfist style...

tsumikos a girl......lol, and yes that dude is new, everything is in my fullgame thread.

The character's shadows go off the bottom of the bridge in a rather unnatural way.

thats a minor issue, and there is no code to stop the shadow half way. but you can change it by altering the shadow scale factor by - (etc)

 ;This is the scale factor of the shadow. Use a big scale factor
 ;to make the shadow longer. You can use a NEGATIVE scale factor
 ;to make the shadow fall INTO the screen.
 ;Defaults to 0.4 if omitted.
yscale = .3

Hey dude, srry if i only tested minato, but its pretty cool!
Certainly the best minato i ever saw.
The sprites are really well done.Good job!
I only have one complain:The snd.
even his attacks dont do a sound.
Please fix that so him can be even better.

lets be realistic here ......... :-\

the portrait has a hole in his neck due to bad spriting.
the walking sprite is completely missaligned.
animations are jumpy and timing is completely wrong especially his jump
DF+F,Y is a  106 hit combo LOLOL.
-playablility is a shamble and comedy of errors.

nanashi said the rest.
and i will agree this character is diabolical.

I never had troubles with mediafire  :o

and yes, of course I tried that button, maybe DL fails because I'm using IDM  :-\

I'll create a mediafire link...but look lo and behold
verifying for 10 minutes to upload a 30 meg file. I could have done this on 2shared 10 times already.

LOL

WHY I DON'T USE MEDIA FIRE.

After 2 attempts
Mediafire link is here

No no, it's not your link. There was another link on the site that literally said "Click here to download" so I clicked that one --;. I got your stage from that site no problem otherwise.

God, I'm using firefox and damnit I can't get the file, dont know why he doesn't just use mediafire instead which is SUPERIOR JAPAN compared to that 2sharedshit...

for godsake.................Try scrolling down to the bottom of the page where it says: Times downloaded: 187    File URL:
Last downloaded: 2011-02-07    Save file to your PC: Download

jesus  187 people managed to download it why cant you guys????

- why i dont use mediafire because it fucks up the links whenever it feels like it. Site is rendered temporarily unavailable more times then its up.

I can't remember the name of the program, but there are several programs or plug-ins allowing to animate water (typing "tutorial animating water" in Google gives fine results).
Anyway, you found a "workaround", so it's fine I guess.

I noticed the falling leafs disappear mid-screen from time to time. Looks odd.
On the night version, I guess the flickering lights are another layer (well, i hope several layers) moving with sinusoidal motion, as layerno=1 ? Or are they supposed to dynamically light the stage ?

Loving the guys turning there head as the camera moves on the Sputnik stage. :)

hopefully the tutorial is not based on using fluid dynamics since they are hard to control and manage + the ridiculous render times
Yeah sakura petals dissapear mid way for some reason? I had this same problem in the stage where I wanted the black hawk chopper to fly across the screen but instead it flew mid way and just dissapeared...... as for the fire flies yes they are on a different layer on a black BG with glow. The actuall glow ambience is done by a light source seperate to the fireflies on the actual stage. the fire flies on 1 layer will drift around slowy whereas the ones on the second layer will move around a lot more. so there are 2 seperate layers with fire flies and the actual stage is illuminated by the light source.

I can't believe I fell for a trojan on that site :V Thank goodness Kaspersky caught and burned it before it did anything.

........................You seem to be the only guy that has reported a trojan. I can assure there IS NO TROJAN so I don't even know why you bothered to post this on my thread? if you got a trojan it's 100% your own fault and 100% should not even be posted on my thread.
