AH...

Well, it IS training mode, and you're always at full power during training mode, so that shouldn't be a problem. The laser requires full power anyway, so it's not really spamming.

As for the intro and ending, I'll probably add them if I release a version 2.0 of The Kid.

Which laser attack? The eye laser or the huge one? The eye laser's supposed to shoot in the second phase every time he sees his opponent at a certain distance range.

He's finally releasable.




Before you download Mecha-Birdo, note that he's meant to be a boss fight for The Kid, though you may fight him with anyone else if you wish. That's mostly why I updated The Kid as well. Get'em both below.

To switch your polarity against Mecha-Birdo, if you have it, just crouch (or if you're playing as The Kid, press "c").

Yeah, I thought about making it completely source accurate, but there's something about programming the eggs to double as platforms that screams "too much unnecessary work."

Because I feel like posting a few pics of him. He'll be part of my IWBTG: The 2D Fighter project if I ever finish that. On that note, he's meant to be a boss for The Kid, also from IWBTG.
You can fight him as anyone else that doesn't suck if you want, though.

Other features I've implemented in him so far:
  • Opponents that can be put into custom states are able to switch their polarity between white and black by crouching (Not available for team matches, maybe if I feel like it I'll change that). When their polarity is white, only black bullets do damage, and vice versa.
  • Most of his egg missiles can be redirected back at him for some good damage.
  • Has a portable jukebox with three different music loops in it. You can turn it off if you want.
  • He has three different phases: the first involves his antenna, the second his eyes, and the third his missiles. You can attack these during the fight or assault him directly.

Left to add/fix:
  • At least three more bullet patterns for his third phase
  • Better sounds if I can find'em
  • Better polarity indicator explod (It's pretty ugly, isn't it?)
  • Definitely a decent AI
  • Balance in AI, damage, attacks, shy guys, etc.

There's no reason you can't have both, is there?

Staying on topic, the name "P.o.t.S." is a sure sign of quality. I'd look towards his characters in order to fill your new roster as well.

I do suggest you get rid of the stuff not relatted to Giygas like the Screaming face at begining wheres your see a different char then it appears, the strange human with ugly beard and eyes, the wolf thingy and that bridge thingy (why is that there  o_O)
And take out all the fun?

and whats with the ball that sometimes shows up before the match and Giygas comes from it? is it the Devil's Machine? (thing with Ness's face on it and kept Giygas inside it)
I think that's what it's supposed to be, though I'm not sure, since this Giygas' actual sprite also looks like the original Devil's Machine.

I dunno what the fuss is over the non-accuracy either. Heck, even my Giygas isn't 120% accurate.

I personally like The_None's Giygas because there's so much "visual vomit" going on. It's also well executed, IMO, and for me it makes the fight properly chaotic. It's pretty dang fun.
And what else would you expect from the same guy who had a hand in creating Omega Tiger Woods?

What am I talking about? Pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a MUGENized version of I Wanna Be the Guy. What else did you expect from the same guy who made The Kid?
And yes, I do have a general outline of what I want to make of this idea.

On the select screen, there would be six selectable "characters:" all of them different difficulties of The Kid (those difficulties being Medium through Impossible, plus soon-to-be-added "Source Accurate" and "fhqwhgads7 hates you" difficulties), complete with distinguishable icons and portraits. Non-selectable characters would be hidden off-screen and include the actual bosses to be fought in Arcade mode (Listed at the bottom), which would basically be a boss rush type of game.
For VS mode, since only different difficulties of The Kid would be selectable, I plan on giving him actual HP in the very likely event he is pitted against himself. He'll still die in one hit against the unplayable bosses.
Team Arcade mode would be the same as regular Arcade Mode, just without The Guy or any other bosses that aren't team players by any means (Both real versions of Giygas, for example, not that I know if either will be in the game). Or a two player regular Arcade Mode if you have any friends as suicidal as you.
As for the life bars, screen packs, stages, and all that good stuff, you can expect something very similar to what you found in IWBTG. Same type of menu, stages from the source game, etc. etc.

The only real help I need apart from a bunch of MUGEN docs is in selecting the different bosses available to fight. I know three that I'll definitely add, and I have some other ideas of who to include, but if you wanna give me your character to do with as I please make a suggestion of your own, then go right ahead.

Definite Bosses:
The Guy (Should I make him source accurate or should I sprite-swap him with somebody made of awesomeness?)
Dracula (Complete with Delicious Fruit Danmaku and flaming meteors mini-moons)
Mike Tyson (He'll be huge and in the background)
Mecha Birdo (Less Birdo-ish and more Ikaruga-ish)

Other Ideas for Bosses that I have but don't know how to implement:
Koopa Clown Car Trio
Kraidgief
The Moon Dragon Devil THE MOON
Maybe Mother Brain

This is the best Christmas present anyone could ever receive. Seriously. The world can always use more Giygas in different shapes, sizes, and levels of nightmare fuel. Freaking epic.

Now to figure out how to beat your version without putting it against mine on Story Mode. And without using F1.
