*sigh* after like an hour of entering and deleting destination stuff in the fight.def and system.def (lifebar/kof-mi-m.def blah blah), i acomplished........nothing, cuz im an idiot, i forgot its the "font" files fault, anyway enough of me complaining, i moved all the font files that was with the lifebar folder into the "font" folder, its obviously not "power", "timer", "combo" fnt files thats the problem, its the "NAME" fnt file (im sure of it, its the only one that makes sense), i opened it up with notepad, and it was just a much of numbers and letters, im not a coder, so i have no clue where to begin, im just about ready to give up.
if you don't know the solution, could you recommend any decent lifebars instead?

err tony 3rd? i did what you said but now i can barely see most of the screen now cuz its magnified too much, even in full screen, i can't even see the lifebar, i wonder why no one understands my problem...oh and madlax418...you sure its working? are you using regular winmugen? or your own? and i don't think im missing anything, its that a bunch of letters appear where the lifebar is, you don't get that error?....maybe i put the font file in the wrong place, you seem to know what you're doing, so could you tell me where you put the files? (and which you replaced?), cuz im kind of a n00b (hate that expression) at this kind of thing, so any kind of tutorial would help

ohhhh i think i know what you mean now (geez im an idiot), the reason i asked to install it yourself is to see where i went wrong, in other words, im thinking im missing something, like not installing it right, (replacing the wrong files or something), so i asked for other people to install it to see if other people have problems installing it and its not just me.

you mean from the site? nothing, i never had an error when downloading it, no problem extracting the zip/rar (can't remember which one) and thats it, it was in pieces like all lifebars have.
ask if i missed something

i must be cursed or something 
, anyway i installed a new lifebar for mugen, this is lifebar is kinda hard to install since i don't just replace files in the "data" folder, i had to (well i think so) replace the fight.def file with the new lifebar def.
can you try to install it? its here

i can't even get THAT far, the second i click on save all or the "save sff" icon on the sprite section, it instantly shows the messege, i can't get past it.

For some reason, i don't know why, i can't use the "save all" feature anymore on fighter factory, i used to, but now it says cannot create file c:/ blah blah [character name].sff, access is denied, i looked on google, here, i don't know how to fix it, no matter what character i choose it won't save,
please help

hold on, i found out its one of the characters i downloaded from a roster (Dragon ball legado saiyan, heard of it?) if i had to guess, im guessing its because its foreign of something that may be the cause, but even if i don't make any changes to the character and just click "save all", it still comes up, its quite a rare character so i don't think i'll be able to find an english version, by the way, the character is "gohan with armour (cell saga)".

Thanks for replying, actually i changed character portraits before in the past (like a year ago) but then there was a few months i wasen't in the mood playing mugen, not to mention having sooo many different computers cuz of viruses and such, and because of this i completely forgot how to convert images into 256 colours, i just knew there was a way without photoshop, anyway thanks again

i don't know if there is already a topic about this, sorry but, i want to change a characters portrait (not the icon but the big protrait showing their face etc) for instance i hate DMC3 dante's picture (love the character but hate the portrait), i add a bmp picture that i rather draw or find on google but the picture doesn't show up, in fact nothing shows up, i tried with other characters and the same problem happens, hope you reply, by the way i haven't got photoshop so i only have ms paint to work with (in otherwords i did try to find youtube vids to help me out but everyone expects you to have photoshop)
