(bare in mind while I'm not a huge fan of some of these musicians/bands, I am basing this mainly on what I think fits each characters respectively.... Actually Ken's song is the only one I'm not personally fond of, but it fits him, I'm just not a kid rock fan, but I use the song anyhow because objectively I think it fits)

    Street Fighter Chars:

Guile: Metallica- Don't Tread on Me
   Ken: Kid Rock: American Badass
DeeJay: Bob Marley- Get Up, Stand Up
   Balgrog: Die motherfucker die fool
Sagat: Survivor- Eye of the Tiger
Birdie: The Clash- Last Gang in Town
Rolento: Pantera- Mouth for a War
Blanka: G&R- Welcome to the Jungle
   M. Bison: Emperor- I Am the Black Wizards
Rufus: Pantera- Proud to be Loud

     Mortal Kombat

Johnny Cage: Testament- Into the Pitt (Cage's stage is the pitt bottom on my mugen)
Sonya Blade: Stuck Mojo- Open Season
Jax: Dr. Ama- Left, Right, Left
  Liu Kang: Mortal Kombat theme
Kung Lao: Metallica- For Whom the Bell Tolls (Kung Lao's stage is the bell tower in my mugen)
  Scorpion: Slayer- South of Heaven
Reptile: Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss (his stage is the acid pitt from MK2)
Kano: System of the Down: When Angels Deserve To Die
Kurtis Striker: Anthrax- I Am The law
Kabal- G&R- Night Train (his stage is the train station fatality stage from MK3)
  Nightwolf: Sepultura- The Hunt
Mileena: Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams (MK2 fatality stage with spikes on ceiling, day time)
Kitanna: Marylin Manson- Sweet Dreams (MK2 fatality stage with spikes on ceiling, night time)
Baraka: Acid Bath- Diab Soule (stage is MK 2 ruins)

   Killer Instinct

Saberwolf: Black Sabboth- Bark At the Moon
   Cinder: Prodigy- Firestarter
TJ Combo: Dr. Dre and Ice Cube- Natural Born Killer
   Glacius: Danzig- End of Time
   Tusk: Megadeth- Blood of Heroes
Riptor: Misfits- When Death Comes Ripping

That's some of the better ones I have, for SF, MK, and KI chars

Honestly I think this is cool as hell, when I have more time (hopefully tonight) I will download this and give some feed back. Honestly I had been thinking about the exact same thing, side-scrolling beat'em-up bonus stages.... You could probably use final fight characters too, or MK mythology chars, TMNT chars (foot soldiers and those little white robots that run on one wheel and electrocute you), double dragon enemies, there are so many bonus stages that could be made like this, I think this may spark something in the mugen world.

Anyone can wear a gi, that's almost like saying Bruce Irving can't practice Muay Thai because he's not from Thailand. I see no error there..... Technically too yeah, people don't age but I don't recognize that as an error, it's just how fiction is.... Batman and Superman never aged either and theyr both almost 100 yrs old now (or close to it). But nobody will like seeing them as old men with canes, false teeth, and colostomy bags.

No everyone misunderstood, it was just a sort of a fan fiction sort of thing, pointing out holes in the story lines and char inaccuracies. I could probably come up with a lot more. F.ex. Alex is a bare chested delta force operative, but we don't see any blood pins. Special forces usually are required to get their blood pins pounded into their chests. Technically you can say the same for Jax too, he's a marine... I'm not writing like it's some major surprise or anything, this is just a threat to share inaccuracies.... Hell I'm not even saying these inaccuracies even ruin the game or even the char necessarily (it all depends on *how* big the error is).

Also I could be wrong, but I could swear it said in Nina's bio in the original game, in the booklet that came with it, I could swear it said her father was like a captain or something in the Irish mafia and that was where she was trained to be an assassin. Mafias do have trained assassins. In fact there is a somewhat militant component behind most organized crime syndicates and gangs. Many of them are even former military. I wouldn't blindly assume that all gangs are untrained thugs who don't know what to do with their guns.  Granted they shouldn't be trusted with guns, but the more organized gangs usually know how to handle weapons.

As for posting in the wrong section, my bad.

fighting game inaccuracies, like for one, how come there are more asian-americans than hispanic americans, when it comes to fighting games, but in real life there are more hispanics in america than there are even blacks. Another thing is cultural inaccuracies, say take for example Eric Windsor of Fightin' Spirit is supposed to be some biker outlaw or whatever but he's wearing tennie shoes, instead of boots....... Or Steve Fox, his mother was Nina Williams, Irish, but Steve is British. No mention of who his father was, but we do know he was on the run from the Mafia because he refused to throw a fight where they had money on him to take a dive (but he didn't take the dive), and Nina's father (steve's grandfather) was apparently involved in the Irish mafia. Maybe that can be chalked up to things being left to explore.

I'll be totally honest, I'm not all that interested in downloading the char (I don't mean that as any offense), but that stage..... Whose stage is that and where can I find it?

This stage should be a drop pit (like they had in MK where when the fight is over, you can knock your opponent off and they drop to their death). I always thought this stage looked like a drop pit stage.

It keeps wanting me to download all this other software first, honestly I'd rather not download a bunch of risky software if I can do it without downloading it.... I wasn't totally sure what you meant by 3rd link, 3rd download pink or 3rd link posted on the page?..... I went through both of those scenarios... Is there a way I can download this w/o having to download a bunch of extra software?

I can't find a download for Sankuro Yorozu from Samurai Shodown..... There was a dead link to what I think used to be a download from Taruse(SS5) but it's not there anymore. Does anyone know where I can download this char?

A tournament mode on mugen, where you can pick a certain number of people, say for ex., 32 random chars, to be in a tournament... Usually the numbers would have to be in variables of 4 or 8 so that they break down evenly all the way till the final match. SSF2 had a tournament mode like this, some other games have as well... Is there a way you can install a tournament mode option, where you can pick who you want or you can random select chars? Is there a tournament mode like this that can be installed?

The sprites are great, may I suggest updating the AI?

I mean don't make him into a god character or anything rediculously impossible to defeat, but at present he doesn't put up much fight at all. But I like the sprites, I like the animation, the last Jago didn't have much AI either..... At least this one has better animations. Don't take this as a knock against your work in any way, you've done awesome work.
its bad form to ask about ai, the focus should be on the gameplay, ai is pretty much something else entirely coding wise.

Yup your right, my mistake. I am kinda learning the ropes here. I do hope someone else can code an AI for him but really I love the overall gameplay. This brings up something else I wanna ask about, but I can't ask it here because it would be out of place so I'll go make another post in the appropriate forum section...

stages/stage0-720.def
Try copying this from your new screenpack.

Nvm I've fixed that problem now, everything is working fine, although some chars color palettes seemed to change and their in-game name (say f. ex., Chaosblanka, instead of blanka) are displayed when the characters are selected, however these are things I can easily fix on my own. I've also begun adding music back to a few stages, I'm gonna download a buttload of new chars and stages since my new screenpack is massively larger than the old one now too :)

Okay I've figured out how to get the chars into the mugen using a program called Vselect, however, now the stages are not working. I get the following error message:
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Error Message: Can't Open Stages:stages/stage0-720.def

Hey I'm finally converting to mugen 1.0, and I downloaded the neon screenpack with 588 char slots... The only problem I am running into now is that I can't get my chars from my old winmugen to transfer over to the new mugen. In the select.def file where the spaces for the chars are, there are spaces which say "empty space" and spaces which say "character." Well I put all the chars in the spaces which said character. But none of them are showing up though. I go into mugen, the screenpack works, the 588 character slots are there, but, when I transfer the characters over, they do not show up in the mugen.

I am looking for versions with balanced AIs and also I don't want them to back away into the background the way the RB2 guys from Tora seem to do... I can only find 2 Franco Bashes, one which has no AI (By Perfect Dark) and the other which is constantly backing away back into the background (the one by tora). It's also be cool to find a Hon Fu too who can stay level without disappearing into the background.
