It basically is!

I like your thinking. ;D

Man, this thread is tapping into the nostalgic side of my childhood's poor diet. We all grew up on things like Doritos, processed Fruit Snacks, T.V. Dinners, Ice Cream and tons of more stuff I feel but cannot directly list.

Cereals were always sugary and/or Marshmallowy. You guys pretty much mentioned all of the great stuff, so this is what I can remember consuming throughout the years:

Cheerios/Honey Nut Cheerios
Kix
Trix
Cocoa Puffs
Captn's Crunches (All varieties)
Recee's Puffs
Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles
TMNT Cereal
Oreo O's
Apple Jacks
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Cookie Crisps
Franken/Boo Berry
Count Chocula
HoneyCombs
Honey Bunches of Oats

And probably a few that'll come to mind once I submit this post. God, so many good memories with eating all of this tasty sugary crap!! ;)

There were some wips concerning her: Beximus's and Nestor's come to mind but maybe those are stopped.

Thanks Alex. Your timing is always sharp and your replies are always helpful. You rock. :2thumbsup:

Chuchoryu is making her sprites as well. he haven't posted yet but he's making it

I'm curious to see how his animations compare to FeLo's. Either way, this WIP has some promise to it. Let's hope it turns out for the better. Best wishes Shin Mako!!

C.V.S., how long have you been spriting for?? Every time you showcase a new sprite/animation, your quality impresses and generally improves. I love those get hit sprites you sketched for Kazuya. That's some insane quality if you ask me.

So is this character released or what? I look in these threads and see all these sexy palettes, but no DL links :(

No. This is a WIP thread, or Work in Progress Thread. FeLo_Llop released his sprite sheet and Shin Mako is working on making a character out of it. I thought there was another WIP for Viper but I cannot remember. Someone correct me here if I'm wrong.

Remap your buttons then. If I were to use a keyboard, I would usually set them to old school style settings:

Up: W
Down: S
Left: A
Right: D

And then I usually have the attacks set as:

Punches
Jab: U
Strong: I
Fierce: O

Kicks
Short: J
Forward: K
Roundhouse: L

I'm getting the sense that you're making things a bit overly complicated when they shouldn't be. Even with Mugen's default layout I've never encountered a problem like this before. Some moves are difficult to perform on a keyboard, but I've never had issues with them. And if you've ever played a fighting game before, then commands are usually exactly the same, whether you use number terminology for directional inputs or not. You still have Quarter Circle Movements, Half Circle Movements, Charge Commands and the like.

I'm coming to an educated conclusion that sprites from the Genesis version of Taken 2 versus Virtua Fighter were used here??

Once again you release stages that infuse Mugen with retro awesomeness from some well selected titles... that I've never really heard of before. You did a fine job as always. I'm definitely snatching these up. Thanks for sharing. :2thumbsup:

Great article. I'm glad I typed up my thoughts before reading it. The guy makes some very good points. He also brings up that ever so famous "No Russian" CoD:MW2 mission. I'm not gonna lie: while shocking, I found it entertaining as I eventually knew I'd take out the dude responsible for it. And you were shot at the end of the mission anyhow. As the writer states, it was optional, just as the violence in GTA is. GTA may be risqué with all of its content, but it doesn't make all of the killing of innocents an objective like Hatred does; it's all merely a distraction/detracting from the main missions.

What worries me is the message technically savvy adolescents will get who download this and form an influential "I love this game" kind of bond with it. I was one of those kids who played DooM and watched R-Rated cinema as a kid (I saw RoboCop when I was 5) but I knew it was a movie and I was shooting cartoony, fantasy creatures. But murdering innocent bystanders in gruesome detail?? That's slightly disturbing even for a game.

Tell ya what though, Hatred will be great for two things: blowing off steam if you had a bad day at work. And giving the media something to latch their teeth on to.

Or getting a controller/fightstick hooked up to your computer.

I'm with this. I have just about every controller adaptor available for the likes of PS2, SNES, Genesis, and Saturn. And then some. For more complex moves it's best to go the controller route. Adaptors allow for any device made for that console, so you could go for an actual controller or an arcade stick. Amazon has just about anything you could think of through a proper search cirteria. Everything is relatively priced too.
