Maybe I'm a little salty Since Cable didn't get in and I really like the character though.
i haven't played MVC 3, but yeah he was angry about not including fan requested characters like gambit and carnage and replacing them with less known characters. The thing wrong with that is that if anyoen took them seriously it would stunt the growth of those games. Modok is so famous amidst marvel fans that Toyfare had a long running comic with him. Having him fleshed out was pretty cool. One of the highlights of the game.
whats wrong with that?
The fans of comics requested characters they cared about, what he wanted were characters he specifically grew up with, like cyclops, venom and lol sentinel.
Comic fans wanted Iron fist, Ghost rider, she hulk, Modok. characters they actually know. Capcom got a lot of the fan popular characters while allowing marvel to actually direct what focus should be had ( like removing the FF for "Reasons" )
You know who was completely missing and left fans puzzled? Silver Surfer.
Both carnage and venom hadnt been in the comics for over ten years at that point.
ALso nobody said you weren't allowed to like Carnage, but calling him a fan favorite in the same breath that you say nobody likes Modok is not just incorrect, it's laughable. Not sure if this comment was directed to me, But I never said that I wanted Carnage (I didn't and I didn't say that Carnage was a popular request or that he was a fan favorite) I just said he was more requested then MODOK, as I Just don't believe anyone was around requesting MODOK for MVC3 prior to his announcement.
i'll give you some people not wanting rocket raccoon or modok, but the game had plenty of characters i would think were relatively popular "fan requests" (or were just well received when they were revealed). on new characters alone you had ghost rider, nemesis, phoenix wright, vergil, thor, ghost rider, deadpool, wesker, amaterasu, arthur, dante, haggar, bionic commando. angry joe is a shitdickTrue enough. I'm not saying one Lolwtf? character is really that bad, cause that's what MODOK was, it's just He's not even like Rocket Racoon who's cool when you look into him (I also Think Shuma-Gorath is like that as well, but I digress) He's not cool, he's just dumb.
he was one of the persons crying his arse off that rocket racoon and modok were UNWANTED.
He doesnt know shit of what he is talking about.
fan requested characters like carnage
Hahahahaha
Some more SF3 characters would be cool. Just NOT Remy, please.
you doubt youll be able to play as akuma?
Tag would be bad too in the engine, since, again, not every single character has the necessary. Adding required animations (such as like jumping in or out) would bloat Mugen, and even then, there are several methods to do it (do they jump in ? Do they run in ? Is it only when doing a certain attack ?) so it would just be way too complex to implement it in the engine because Mugen would have to be able to account for every single case. Again, it only makes sense in a full game.
Easy, have stages have randomized events, multiple portraits like in Knuckle Fighter, environmental hazards/things that can affect players, cinematics in the middle of Arcade, like in Fighter Maker, a score system like in KF, and a universal tag system. Oh, and a stat/save/replay system. Lastly, we need Suave Guy by Elecbyte.A lot of those can already be done.
Oh, sorry. I meant universal for everything. AKA: Every character having this stuff by defualt.
Also, sprites should be at least on par with guilty gear before being considered serious. That's just Stupid. What, are Stuff Like CVS2 and MVC2, KOF not "serious"? Hell, you Probably you consider SF3 Sprites (even though SF3 sprites are better done then GG, but I digress) not good enough cause they aren't "Hi-Res" or whatever.
Lol.It STILL Doesn't have Like a Snake? WTF? Does it still have the god-awful Car select theme?
I liked Port Town :c
In fact, I liked all the F-Zero stages. I'm very disappointed that they decided to only have one F-Zero stage, and it's not even a new one (AND IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE LIKE A SNAKE AS A SELECTABLE MUSIC!!) :s
Same with Pokémon, really. I expected a stadium-esque stage based on something from Battle Revolution, specifically Gateway Colosseum.
I just think it's funny that like everyone who doesn't use Ganon wants him changed and people like me who actively use and put time into him are just like "But we spent all this time learning it!" But that's a complete other story.
also Ganon has a custom neutral B that uses his sword.
The real point is that being big is a very important trait of Ridley's. Bowser's size can vary, he's still fundamentally Bowser. But a shrunken down Ridley would look awkward, out of place, and lose impact. No amount of other statements can make this less true in my eyes. His entire impact and design, for me, was always being really big.
If he had just said Ridley is too Big I'd be fine, But saying that this is more Accurate? Since when did Ridley ever join your side or absorb energy and because Meta-Ridley?But he basically did say that Ridley is too big, and that making him conform to the Smash Bros ruleset would limit his ability to truly represent himself. You're cherry-picking and missing the bigger picture, man.
I think his statements change every time you ask him about something because ambiguity is something he's been good at in basically every interview I've read.
