Good work, thanks a lot for this! Bwahahaha!   ;) My brother chose this character, and I destroyed him, obviously.  Needless to say, he was pretty pissed.

Has anyone released this stage, completed?  I've finished it, and if it hasn't been released, I would love to release it given your permission.  Thanks.

Hey, thanks a lot, I'm very glad that you enjoy them.  SOR2 is probably my all time favorite video game.  I'm going to get around to doing all of the stages (and areas).   :sugoi:

Also, I downloaded (and installed) the new Broken Mugen 1.0, and I gotta say, I'm a HUGE fan.  I had the one released way back when for the longest time, but ended up making my own.  I must say, though, Broken Mugen 1.0 is the only screenpack that I use now.  It's fantastic.  I didn't realize that you had a hand in that until I read your signature.

Haha, dude, I've been playing MUGEN since 2004!  We gotta do SOMETHING during deployments besides sleeping.   You got a Facebook account?  I can share pictures, videos, and war stories, sometime.

Downloading for one HUGE reason.  I flew AH-1W Super Cobras in the Marine Corps!  Oohrah!  By the way, nice attention to detail, exhaust cowling updates and all!   ;D

Edit:  WAIT A MINUTE! There was no exhaust upgrade during the Vietnam era.  Haha, I'm just being nit picky.  Thanks for this release.

Kkhohoh:  I totally get your point. Different strokes for different folks. Right on.

Shulbocka: no no no, I totally have my super mugen mashup, haha. I've been in Mugen since 2004, I've definately got a collection. The whole thing for me was just that if its marketed KOF, it should be KOF. You're right about one thing, I originally got into mugen to have a ton of fighters at disposal, its just, this game could have been spot on (for me) if it were true to its title...but then again, "Extra," it may be! No, YOU rock on, brother!  :sugoi:

I think it's necessary that I inform you that I have no idea what most of those words are that you used  :???:.

Try to find a tutorial on guitar neck adjustment on Youtube.  It may help.  :sugoi:

Haha, don't press the string down so hard, it ruins intonation.  If you are holding it down that hard, and it still buzzes, it means that your neck is slighly bowed, and it needs to be adjusted.  I'm assuming that you have too much relief, as that's about the only way you're going to get a buzz.  I see that your truss rod is adjusted on the headstock of your guitar, the hole where the Alan Screw is.  Take an Alan Kay that will fit it, loosen every single string, then, looking down the neck with the headstock in front of you, turn it about a quarter turn clockwise. Wait about 24 hours, and do it again, wait about 24 more hours, re tune your strings, then you should be good.  No more pissing on frets!   :sugoi:

What do you mean buzzing on the fifth fret, is it buzzing on the fret, or because you're not holding the string down hard enough?  If you are holding it hard enough, that means you may need to adjust your bridge or your relief.  If you're a beginner, I wouldn't ask you to do that yourself, but if you take it somewhere else it might cost you, however, I wouldn't mind explaining how to do it. But, before I write a step by step, I want to make sure that I understand the problem.

I love the color scheme of your guitar, reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan. :sugoi:

Also, tapping usually requires a good bit of gain, so turn that sucker up!

I like the distortion sound better, but I like the sound I hear from every other guitarist way better <_<.

I just saw this.  Well, you would usually have to find out what gear they are using, and also learn their techniques, different had posture creates different sound.  The effects I used for the song I posted are pretty simple.  I usually use a Vox Satchurator pedal (I love the clean heavy distortion) ran through a Noise Gate and my trusty Boss CH-1, but on that particular song, I used the popular (but widely hated?) Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal, set mid-full-mid, and a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, set full, 75%-75%-75%.  Effects are fun, but the effects on a practice amp usually don't cut it.  You can get a DS-1 for less than 50 bucks, only problem is, it doesn't usually sound great all by itself, hence the nickname, Can-o-bees, so I'd recommend a chorus or a delay of some sort to compliment it.

As I said, I'm very new, so I don't know what you're talking about <_<.

You have single coil pickups, which are usually very bluesy, and as said by Space Jam, very good for clean sounds, but it can get down right dirty too, (Check out Dave Murray and Janick Gers from Iron Maiden who use Fender Strats almost exclusively.)

Humbuckers, which look like 2 single coils next to each other, produce a big fat sound perfectly suited for distortion.

When it comes to amp, go tube (but they are expensive), solid state usually sounds buzzy.

How do you do that fast thing at 2:08 where you hear a higher note then a lower note then a higher not again without much of any transition?

That's tapping. He is using a finger with his picking hand to tap the higher note while fretting the lower notes with the fretting hand.

Yep, it's tapping!  That thing it the beginning is the drums, as well as the acoustic guitar playing the bass line, ran through a gated arp and sine wave filter, a bit of flange, and an intermittent lo-fi eq..  The effect makes for pretty good breakdowns, also.

Yeah, layered guitars are pretty rad, you can get a huge fatness to your sound if you put 4 rhythm guitar tracks.
And I know it's really cliché for rock/metal but I love minor third harmonies on solos/lead parts, it just sounds fucking awesome.

The song has 2 acoustic guitar tracks, panned hard left and right, I replayed the second that it didn't sound interfere with the tone of the other, and the "chorus" sections are in fact, 4 rhythm tracks, 1 hard left, one hard right, and one half left, one half right, with the lead track placed center.  When there are two leads, I pan them opposite of each other.  Dude, I can't get enough of harmonies in solos/leads, either!!! I don't heard much of it in mainstream music these days, so I figured I'd make some good use of them.   :sugoi:

I have this friend of a friend, who gets upset easily whenever a "Make me a sandwich" joke, gets directed right at her. Is it really that bad? :???:

I shall ponder my question while you, well, you know, make ME a sandwich!

Devil's Rain, New Misfit's Album Out

Posted by Zinjonovic  in Devil's Rain, New Misfit's Album Out (Started by Zinjonovic December 02, 2011, 04:00:01 pm

I walked into my local record store yesterday, and suddenly I saw the word Misfits sprawled across the front of the counter, then above it, 2 vinyl lps, and a pile of cds.  I bought both.  Here's the deal, all new songs, EXCEPT Land of the Dead and Twilight of the Dead...as you may know (if you clicked on a Misfits topic) were released on a limited edition vinyl about 2 years ago.  Those songs were FANTASTIC, problem is, it seems the band decided to go back and RE RECORD those two songs, adding some effects and basically killing the hard driving sound of the original!  WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE IT ALONE?!?!

If you've been following the Misfits over the past 10 years, you should know that they can't keep a solid line-up, other than Jerry Only.  Robo, who replaced Marky Ramone a few years back, and recorded the two songs for the Land of the Dead LP, has been replaced with, Eric "Chupacabra" Arce.  Don't ask, I've never heard of him, either.

Regardless, here's the nitty gritty. Only: Bass and Vocals, Dez Cadena: Guitars, and Eric "Chupacabra" Arce: Drums.  Jerry Only's vocals seemed to have gotten better since the release of Project 1950's, which saw Jerry become the vocalist after Michael Graves.  He does a pretty good job on the album, except for the fact that he doesn't seem so confident in holding out notes, therefore drops pitch, purposely singing off tune when it comes to a long note (think Drunk Elvis), but in the end, it's the Misfits, no one expects James Labrie, here.

It sounds like typical (modern) Misfits, with Dez throwing in a few out-of-character guitar solos, adding a bit of flash to the groups of under 2 minute songs.  Misfit fans, you don't want to miss it, even if it's for the sweet extras contained in the package, but those of you new to the Misfits, Walk Among Us and American Psycho may be more in order.  Jerry Only's Misfits is for the hardcore fan, only.
