Got to play this at PAX today. Gonna see if I can get a more in-depth play tomorrow or Sunday, but I didn't really get a good long go of it.

Before HW even launched, the team behind the Musou games said they had another franchise adaptation in the works that would appeal more to Western audiences. Make of that what you will.

Apparently it was over a girl, so it makes sense she'd pursue the male entitlement angle.

<anita tweets>
why would anyone listen to this disgusting moron
That seems to be the pattern with her: indeterminate number of divisive, spiteful tweets, followed by one more conservative, almost reasonable one. I said the same thing about her E3 coverage; if she moderated her message more she wouldn't get nearly as much attention hate as she does.

"WARNING! Mewtwo arrives in spring 2015! Register both versions in a promotional period & get him for free! #SmashBros "
How could they read that and believe that after the period he vanishes? Does anyone seriously believe that there would be development made that would just be given for a month or two and then deleted forever?
Not all Smash players are twenty-somethings with business degrees. This game is being marketed towards children. Naive, easily deceived children, attached to parents with presumably disposable income. You're a fool to think there AREN'T buyers that would believe that.

It's not like the kids don't have parents or anything to do research.
Go find a parent that buys their twelve year old brat the latest Call of Duty every year then goes on television complaining that video games are too violent. Ask them how much research they do.

I must be missing something here.
they announced a dlc, the twitter i showed shows the dlc will be free for a period if you own both copies, which makes sense, its a reward if you bought both, like getting the skullgirl characters for free if you had the game before they were released. Later on you can obviously buy it like with any dlc ever( hence free for a period) .
How is this fooling people in anyway?
Nintendo has said nothing of that sort. There are people young / stupid enough to believe this is the only way to get Mewtwo. The stupid people, maybe fair enough, but duping kids like that is a low act.

like getting the skullgirl characters for free
That was a condition LZ put on themselves during the Kickstarter campaign, to save donators from having to pay twice. Entirely different situation.

Giving people incentive to buy your product is not 'disgusting.'
Giving people incentive to buy a redundant copy of a product is.  If this were Capcom or Namco you'd all be shitting kittens over this, I'm sure of it.

paid dlc is not unethical or anything. hes not same day dlc either.
Not when it's two or three dollars, no. Splashing out $40 on one character is over the line, though. If he's going to be paid DLC, I say tell everyone he's going to be paid DLC, THEN add the "free if you have both versions" sweetener. Even so much as leaving it in the air that this is the only way to get him is disgusting.

Why would anyone assume that

All "in a promotional period" means is the free offer won't last; they don't want people buying pre-owned copies to unlock Mewtwo.

And again, they could PAY people to get Mewtwo regular DLC down the line if they wanted to, but the fact they're even trying to bait people in with this shit right now is still disgusting.

Because he's not going to be paid DLC for everyone else right?
Then they should say that, instead of implying by omission that the only way to get him is to buy the same game on a platform you may not even own. They could PAY people to get it down the line if they wanted to, but the fact they're even trying to bait people in with this shit right now is still disgusting.

why is snt jumping to conclusions so badly
How about you let me fuckin finish?

The guy who did most of the concept art and design production for Valkyria Chronicles is a doujin artist called Raita. Statuesque dominant women is his wheelhouse, it's what the man does.

So people here might still be shitty with Borderlands for jumping on the social justice bandwagon, but I'm too distracted by this part.

Just as easily as it could be any of the other four female 'ninjas'. There's a reason the image is monochrome.
