That's awesome as I have the same problem!! How many characters do you have on that?? I use my old WinMugen from time to time just to randomly play. 1.0 is my personal "completionist" project. I.E. I'm finalizing portraits and Winquotes. Characters are entered into my 1.0 once that conversion is done. Hence my giant Portrait Project!!

And I have to say, my fucking eyes are killing me after a 4.5 hour stint clicking away at pixels. That's enough for today....

227. plus 4 bonus characters. i think i also have a bunch of crappy characters in my chars folder that are not in the roster.

for some reason the roster doesn't seem that big. but when you say the amount of chars you have it sounds massive.

Also. Great job on the portraits. they look amazing! i have tried making portraits myself. and. well... it didn't turn out so well... which is why i don't like useing custom portrait screenpacks.

you definitely need to have some kind of artist talent to make good portraits.

i never know what to put for Winquotes. i just cant get "in" the character and know what they will say after they beat someone. i find it even harder if im doing a special winquote against someone not form the same series.

Men you're very intellectual to achieve such endeavor in spriting but why not make a program that can assist in spriting instead of 1yr worth of spriting, it can be achieved in a day w/ this program's help, it may be finished within a year or so but it's worth it cause many people will positively help you or even donate to you for this program, btw MUGEN is not that attractive nowadays because of games in PC, PS3, XBOX360, etc. so don't expect to make people pay to play or exploit them just like every other people who is selfish to take advantage in every situation that they have knowledge of(In our city, to reformat a pc one must pay a minimum of 400(10 dollars equivalent) even when a reformat commonly won't take an hour and worse the OS is not genuine and the said 400(10 dollars) is worth 5 days of savings if I everyday go to school). If you don't want to it's okay, I'm only suggesting, I don't hold any grudges or whatsoever.

Greenman
  • It's not Charlie Day.
  • Every single video game meme sound in this character slowly but painfully kills my very soul. L4D I can sort of understand, but the YTP shit is intolerable.
  • 8C can't be comboed out of, but you can still start or continue a combo with it (typically with 2C)
  • The arrow trajectories incredibly look off
  • Claw Frenzy is incredibly useless due to the damage dampener and lack of guard damage. It can't be used in combos since it kills the damage and it's useless as a means of pressure.
  • "DIE!" (ugh) misses up close and then some.
  • GreenBall allows too much maneuverability. You can go underneath the floor. The last few hits of GreenBall are unblockable.
  • For the amount it heals, the Lv3 super is impractical with the startup and how it leaves you open for any kind of grapple even after you heal.

Kie
  • I really do hope you have made most of these godawful sounds mono to save space for the snd file
  • Is the taunt CLSN emulating Way of the Little Dragon collisions intentional?
  • 360 grapple places the opponent in an invalid action

Not much to say about Kie. Can't say I'm fond of its gameplay though.

Greenman

  1 - Who is charlie day?
  2 - it doesn't bother me that much. i could make a 2nd snd file which removes all of the YTP sounds if its that annoying.
 3 - i will see what i can do.
 4 - will be fixed.
 5 - i will see what i can do.
 6 - will be fixed
 7 - will be fixed

Kie:

 1 - Quote form Pots:

With the possible exception of ambience SFX, Mugen characters do not need Stereo sounds as that is already handled by the engine according to where in the screen your character plays them.  Saving sounds effects in Stereo is only a waste of space.

And, similarly to the SFF, be sure to crop sounds and not save them with a lot of blank (silent) space.

You don't really tend to find good releases in the found releases section. but this is an exception. i have never seen anything like this. also her HCB move is freaking awesome.

Kie is my second character for mugen(Greenman being my first). i have seen alot of people takeing a characters sprites. changeing there palate and giveing them a original and funny moveset: Troubleman, Skaxl roa, Alter Amiba, shadow kouma, segalow etc

 i decided to try this myself. i haven't seen anyone do it with a loli before. so i used one for the sprites of this character.

 i used baggys Furude Rika sprites for this character. i know nothing about the character or where she comes form.


Gameplay:


-Kie is a 3 button character. She can chain attacks into each other. her gameplay style is similar to
Greenman. except her ex moves are mapped to 2 buttons.

-She has a rapid cancel (Form guilty gear) this costs 1000 power and you can use it with the a button.

-some speicals will make you fall over.

-some speicals and supers will hurt you...

-All EX moves cost 1000 power

-press fwd just at the right time to parry an attack

-(S) on a speical move means it can be done with the a button.

-all special moves have an EX version.

 
Controls:

-A = x(weak attack)

-B = y(med attack)

-C = z(strong attack)

-S = a(special attack)

-DD = Down, Down

-DU = Down, Up

-BF = Back, Fwd

-X% = Press the button the number of times shown

-DPM = F, D, DF

-RDPM = B, D, DB

QCB, QCF... You know the rest...

Stuff to know:


Kie is Compattable with Goku z2's Flip Kick knockout.

Kie uses the anim 5937 (same one goku z2 uses) for ALOT of her attacks. adding this to your character will make him/her compattable with Kie And goku z2.

 


Greenman has also been updated. i have added sound FX to his greenball super and a taunt.
so now you can add insult to insult when you beat your friend to a bloody pulp!

I only thing i have found out form testing him is if your playing in 4 button mode and in turns mode. when your character dies and hulk is next. it will go back to 6 button mode until the next round.

i personally think you should go for UMVC3 portraits. because the rest is just street fighter. and there is only one tekken character for mugen right now.

I have just changed the order around a little bit and replaced Buckus's Ein with Buckus's Ortega.

Your roster looks great in my opinion. My only gripe is Gambit: Kamakaze's is very good. Otherwise, good taste, at least in my opinion. I love compilations of any sort. Why settle for only two or three characters from a game when Mugen lets you have as many as you want!!

I can now relate to what Two4Teezee was talking about: whenever I see someone using BrokenMugen as their screenpack, I always get a reassuring grin. It's great to see peoples rosters come alive on something that you worked so hard on.

You did a very good job on the screenpack. i haven't changed it since it was first released for 1.0

The thing i like about it the most is that its got a nice ending when you beat arcade mode. and a even better(imo) Credits screen. it makes it very rewarding after a tough boss(if you got one). its really annoying when you beat the game and it just says "Game Over" or even worse. just goes back to the menu in almost every other screenpack.

I remember back when I didn't know any better and found out about includestage the hard way. My stage selection was crazy and hilarious.  ;D That was fixed fast!!

For some reason. the vselect tool dosn't work very well with the Brokenmugen screenpack.

Also Saikoro. i would like to see your roster :D
