Say, I always kind of wondered about the Birdo/Daisy/Paratroopa mentioned in your def files. Do you or did you ever have plans on making KF style characters based on them?

I've also noticed that he doesn't seem to have any combo abilities. That could use a bit of work as well.

I'll give MORE feedback when I try his character out. I'm just saying that often times, repeated suggestions do get to people. After all, is it really better to just let them continue producing crap than to help them try and improve? After all, people don't constantly like being told something. So to solve that, wouldn't someone go through with something?

Like I said, I'll give more criticism in a little bit.

Sometimes, repeated comments do eventually take their toll.

Want me to say something else? Let me try the character out to see what else I can say about it.

So it's better for him to continue producing crap, continue to be hated by people, and CONTINUE to never learn from his mistakes than it is for someone to actually try and help them? In all seriousness, that's idiot logic.

As for actual criticism, honestly "Finish your characters and stop releasing unfinished Betas," is criticism in itself, and if it's relevant to the character does not qualify as derailment, either.

How am I pushing my luck by telling it like it is? If he chooses to continue releasing crap, it's his problem that people will choose to continue hating his crap. I don't see how trying to help him any way  can, even if it comes off as mean, is a bad thing. The way you guys are saying it feels like you actually WANT him to continue producing crap, which will NOT encourage him to improve at all.

I think part of criticism has to do with how it's taken from the get go. I normally find it fair to give out some kind criticism to start out with, and if the person starts taking it, continue doing it gently. But if they're constantly disregarding criticism, then it's accustomed to get tough in order to intimidate the person into working harder.

Um, dude. Chill. Remember that most of the people here (excluding those who take commission work) are not being paid to do this. It's a hobby, not a job. It's not your responsibility to intimidate anyone here into doing anything. If he wants to release straight up DOO DOO for all it's worth, that's his prerogative.

But still, it's just a form of trying to help the person out. Call it tough love if you will. By using intimidation, it often shows someone an uncomfortable feeling people do not like to carry around, so it helps them drive to improve to relieve them of this feeling. ...I should mention it could have an opposite effect, though. It could also usher the person into being aggressive and defensive, in order to never improve on his work. This, however, is caused by a general stubbornness. Still, at times people do learn to accept that they're not well liked because of the responses, and do learn to improve.

It's definitely no shield, if you make a topic here you open yourself up for criticism (unless you lock it or something).

But complaining of rushing releases over and over is of no help to anyone; giving out actual feedback (and not being a dick about it) to help the author improve is. But people don't seem to be all that inclined to do that much for these releases anymore, since Chuchoryu hasn't expressed much interest in following any of it. And that of course is his right, so we've wound up in this situation. :-\

Finish your damn characters, Chuchoryu! Stop releasing these betas and actually finish something first before moving on to another character!

Sorry if this comes off as mean, but it just needs to be said.

I was trying to say that Seanalty's characters are well made. :)

Whoa, let's not start a flame war here!

Yes please, let's not. I'm starting to worry that what I'm saying could result in one, and I don't want this. I'm not saying Seanalty's characters are bad in any way. In fact, they are quite good.

I don't notice these things with a lot of other well-made characters.

I'm not sure I can describe them easily. There's nothing all that wrong with them, they just feel clunky and unresponsive to me. Their gameplay just seems... average. Maybe it's cause Scorpion's attacks are slow, and cancel out at awkward times, which kind of adds to the unresponsiveness of it. I wish I could say more than "they just don't feel right to me," but I can't really pinpoint what it is I don't like about them.

It's hard for me to explain, but the characters feel so... They just don't feel right to me.

But frankly, I get the clunky feeling from a lot of your characters. I also think a lot of your characters could also have much more interesting move-sets. The flip-kick you added for Scorpion doesn't really fit him, and isn't all that creative.

If I may say something, they seem a bit clunky and unnatural. I notice the uppercut sprites do not align well with the opponents it sends flying. I also notice a bit of unresponsiveness in the characters. It might just be me though.

Yeah. I'm spreading it around for starters, along with Diffbok, but neither of us are having any luck.

And you wanna know the sad thing? Even if I do find it, it will likely be out of my bandwidth reach. ...Still, if MUGEN characters were made, that would be cool, especially the ability to play as Bad Movie Bowser.

No... The first time I saw it advertised, which was I think on Spriters Resource, it was a Game-Maker game. And I'm pretty sure it was Smash Brothers Flash 2. ...Told you it was a long time.

Are you sure? It's been a while since I kept track of it, but I remember them making the game in Gamemaker instead of Flash this time around.

Also, everyone I've met who has an opinion on Smash Flash really hate it.
