No, really, if there is something that is less scary than the animatronics themselves, then that something is Sonic.exe. It's simply a shitty design that is just about as "good" as your average Sonic fan character.

Besides, your sprite is too far from being 8 bit.

The stance is nice, but the glove still borrows skin shades. Thing is that you need to give it the same shades of red as the beret, so everything looks more nicely separated.

This patch certainly improves quite a bunch in Cammy's visuals. Just his stance is already a huge change for the best, in my opinion~

The only remaining thing that bothers me about Chucho's Cammy sprites is how the boots and beret have a completely red palette, yet her gloves or whatever you call them still share colors with the skin shades. In my opinion, that feels very inconsistent his default palette, and some others too. That and her arms and face feels very pillow shaded in her running animation. Another problem I remember, although not exactly related to the sprites, is that she is simply invisible in her intro against Chun-Li.

Still, your patch is something I really enjoy to have, and actually made me want to keep Chucho's Cammy in my roster~ I'll only be looking for a better lifebar icon for her, although I can't really remember anyone who might've done it.

Somewhat fixed. His eye still feels pillow shaded, and there still seems to be a lack of depth on the two top spines. I also see that the outlining on the top left of his head is oddly thick, which is pretty much a problem, and the same goes to other parts of the sprite. It's as if part of the sprite was dragged or something.

If you want, feel free to use this Sonic animation I made last year as reference for some of the shading (since you seem to have gotten the shape of the sprite pretty nicely already):

I searched for the Var(46), tried changing the value to see what would happen, and turns out you were right~

He's looking better now. Now the thing that bothers me the most is that his eyes are incredibly overshaded. The way you shaded it makes it look like he has eyes made out of glass or plastic, because they don't really look like normal eyes, it almost feels as if Sonic is a robot in there. I would suggest to leave his eye mostly white, and just add a bit of anti aliasing for the shading. You might also want to give him a little smile, since Sonic is one character to nearly always have that.

I also noticed his body seems to be very bright, in a way it seems to lack shading. Not to mention his middle spine on the head seems to have a weird lack of depth, as the it feels quite flat, so I recommend shading the middle and top spines a bit more. The placement for the brightest blue shade in the head also makes his head look oddly bright, in a plastic looking way, so I personally think it would be better without it. What also bothers me is the shape of his shoe, because it just... suddenly curves up out of nowhere. That and the white/gray shading for the sprite seem to be lacking a bit of contrast, and same goes for the red colors.

This is all looking pretty good, and I'm digging the GBC palette the most~

I do kind of want to know what is the explanation behind the animatronics not killing the fighters. Maybe the Super Freddy 5 bootleg is so bad that they forgot to program the kill screens in. At least that's what I imagine that would happen if there was a legit rushed bootleg of the game, hahah

There is this Ken that came along a full mugen game that I downloaded (KOF Extra UM). If you choose him while holding Start, you get to play as Violent Ken. As I was reorganizing the roster of said game, I wanted to make a separate character slot for Violent Ken, although different from most characters I remember that had EX versions in separate .def files, this one had both of them in just one .def.



So I tried to make a separate .def just for V. Ken, although I couldn't find a way to make said .def not have normal Ken in it. I'm no mugen programmer, so I don't know what else to try. Could anybody help me with it? I'm capable of replacing the sprites for the portraits and icons, but I really need help with this part.
