Surprised I couldn't find a board here for this. While I don't have a bunch of info on this game, I've done up some research and it's been in production for a long while now. SoulGainer was a separate project from what I remember, which had an MMO of some sort that quickly failed. (Don't quote me on that.) It's a work in progress. On a page I was visiting, someone had mentioned there was a more complete version of this game available some time back. (Right now, it's more of a demo). If anybody has access to that, please feel free to share.

This game features a tag team mode, as well as a 1v1, and a gem fighter style mode.
It also has a custom mode that allows you to customize your moveset and color palletes.





There's data for some stages and characters that I can't find to be usable in game.

Ah!
Take the stage you would like and open the "____.def" file for the stage. There's a piece of text that reads "Music=" or "bgmusic=" (Something to that nature)
Put the mp3 you would like to use in your "Sound" folder and then after the "music=" part, add " sound/______.mp3" (Name of the mp3 with "sound/" before it)

Feel free to back up files and experiment, yourself!

You're on the right track! Take the folder of the character you would like to add and place it in the "Chars" folder, then go to the "Data" folder's file "Select.def"

You should see a line that goes something like...
"kfm, stages/stage0.def
kfm720"


Underneath that line, write the name of the character's folder you added to your "Chars" folder, save it, then start the game up. You should see your new character in game!

I'm certain that GBC/GBC link through GBA works. Not as sure for the gameboy player. But common sense tells me that it would.

Actually, yeah! Where the hell IS Naganuma?

He did some really rad tunes for Ollie King, two of which were JSRF Remixes. If you dig his music, he did a Gintama anime opening and some Beatmania stuff.
But yeah. I'd kill to see his work in a new JSR game.


I'm also really really diggin' these new designs, but they're doing with bandages what Kingdom Hearts did with zippers on clothing. They've decided to slap them on every character.

I was reading that the scarf and bandages and other character designs are western-themed because the game and show are both being developed in America this time around.

those are all abilities u can tweak in a clone...its still possible...with the execption of coding a flash kick and a dash. and Bass has a dog too!

Treble is also a dog, yes. But his powerup ability is nothing like any of Rush's. Treble makes Bass go into a type of ultimate mode, where Rush simply has assist techniques such as the jet, coil, etc.

Seriously, Megaman and Bass are nothing alike aside from their appearance and series of origin. Unless you want to count the walking and jumping.

I'unno.
Rush can transform into an "ultimate" armor for Mega Man, too, you know.

And Treble has a flight form like Rush Jet. And he also assists in Megaman Power Fighters.

He pretty much is rush entirely. I'm not sure where you're getting your information.

I was considering putting the painter animated inside, but I kinda' thought it might clash with the anatomy of the fighters being used?

I might play with the saturation and turn it down too, the source I used had high saturation compared to the screenshot underneath.
I think I'll make an alternate version with the people in the path. (For those who'd like)

Tested in Winmugen, Mugen+, 1.0 and 1.1

Had an issue trying to tile the parallax floor on 1.1 so I did it manually. I'll probably update this in the future with more trees for the background (To cover up the nasty-looking wall), layer 1 flowers scattered around, and occasional rain. Possibly some pokemon if I can get their art to match that of the background.

Nice colorfull stage :D

-increase the floor verticaly size so you will be able to add more zoom out to the stage.

-sky looks bad imo and seems to have colorloss already ._. could try other imo.

-Could try to color those small trees http://prntscr.com/2fq6dt to fit the green of the envoriment.


Ah yeah. Everything's pretty lossy from the game I took it from. On closer inspection, those bushes do look a tad off color.
I didn't change anything from the source really and I might make an alternate where I can level everything out to what I think looks good.

I think even though the grass on the foreground is much lighter than that in the background, the contrast helps define the region as Kalos, from the game it's ripped from.
Each region kinda' has its own color/shade scheme.

I might just toss the zoom idea and complete it with the old tools I use, extending the road vertically might be a big challenge. I'll give it a try of course~

So i've got the water animated, and everything layered.
Different trees to randomly place. 'Bout 7 layers total. (Plan to add more, maybe some foreground flowers or a rainy alternate)

Going to be using parallax on the water and grass in the background making it similar to how it appears in X/Y

Also plan on making the stage loop infinitely left and right.
I've made plenty of stages in the past using MCM and nothing else. I'm kinda' interested in putting this into 1.1 with Zoom.

Anybody have any suggestions?

While we're on the subject, Pacman's a kinda' obvious pick taking those things into consideration, but his design's a little lacking for a smash game..
Namco's probably gonna' have their own character in the game. Has to be one associated with Nintendo.

In the US, Tales of Symphonia came out Nintendo exclusive, but Japan had a PS2 port. So cross out Lloyd. He's not gonna' be joining.
However.. Klonoa had 3 exclusive Nintendo games, I believe. The one on Wii and two on GBA. He's arguably a Namco mascot, too.

TTT2 got a WiiU port but lolno. Don't go there.
My guesses for Namco characters are Klonoa and Pacman.

Got Animal Crossing and Pokemon Y.

Giving out starters in Y right now. Got 'em off the GTS and bred them.
Got Snivy, tepig, totodile, cyndaquil, mudkip, treecko, chimchar, etc.

Anybody want 'em, lemme' know. I won't be using them. I'm just giving them out.
