Here's my first two tests

   MVC3        SFIV c3

The MvC3 one looks to be more of an SNK style to me.

Looking at this sprite, I can't help but think that Viper seems a little short.  Maybe add a little more length on her legs or something.

I got hit by one of Evil Ryu's hadokens just as I connected Joker, this was the result. I then spent the rest of the match trying to manuever Oswald so his shadow would make the debug text easier to see. Then I realized I could just copy that stuff and put it elsewhere in the image.
I got the same result with a kikouken from Fervicante's XI Chun-Li.  So, I'm guessing it's projectile based?

Elena does too much damage.  She needs a damage damper, badly.

- Some of her animations seem a little off and jerky.
- Some of her basic attacks look to be from Igniz, which I don't think is a good thing
- She has a fireball (a gray 'Psycho Ball' it looks like), 'God Press', An anti-air (Same as Jin's 'Clone-Angel'), 'Gigantic Pressure', 'Power Geyser' (which can be OTG), some dash punch with a follow up, a Max 2 super that fills the whole screen with slashes (does 30 hits), something that looks like 'Missile Might Bash' and 'Million Bash Stream'.

She's okay.  Not something spectacular, and she could use a little more polishing, but she's not bad.

Come to think of it, I would laugh if they pulled the SF3 New Generation tactic (punches are Yun and kicks are Yang).

Yay for Yang! :)
He's under-appreciated.

Boo for Yun!  :(
I'm sick of him.  CvS, Alpha, and Fighting Jam was enough, thanks.

So...after playing with Oswald some more I have the following:

- You can dream cancel 'Joker' after '4 Suits' finishes.  Not supposed to happen as in the original it's supposed to only be possible during '4 Suits'.

- If you're on one side of the screen and do 'Heart' to knock the opponent to the other side of the screen, because of the time it takes for the opponent to go all the way to the end and back, when you do 'Ace', and it connects fully, the damage damper becomes non-existent, and does big damage.

- Because 'Joker' now has anywhere juggle, I strongly feel that 'Back-Alley Spider' should do at least the same amount of damage as 'Joker' to give 'Back-Alley' more reason to use.
       - 'Back-Alley Spider' is lvl.3 and 'Joker' is level 2, yet 'Joker' does more damage which is just odd considering that aside from an easier command input, there's no additional benefit for 'Back-Alley' (added stun, more invulnerability frames, etc.)
       - Because 'Joker' has the anywhere juggle and 'Back-Alley' does not, there are more options for 'Joker'
ex 1. (near corner) J. HP, close HP, 'Spade', 'Heart', 'Diamond', hold back for buffer, LP before opponent lands, 'Joker' = 658 damage and costs 2 supers.
ex 2. (near corner) J. HP, close HP, 'Spade', 'Heart', 'Diamond', 'Back-Alley Spider' = 594 damage and costs 3 supers.

- Was it intentional to not be able catch 'Joker' off of a standing jab when it hits opponents in the air?
Actually, no. I forgot to add the anywhere juggle rule. I will fix it.
- Why does 'Back-Alley Spider' do less damage than 'Joker'?
Because it's very easy to land compared to Joker. Since the MAX2 is designed for 02UM gameplay Oswald doesn't have the dreamcancel as a tool to land his Joker with 100% success, while you can simply just cancel into Back-Alley Spider.

Fair enough, but once you input the jab into 'Joker' fix, it becomes a lot easier.  A friend of mine, Olaf, mains Oswald and too many times has he caught me off of the jab into 'Joker' (he doesn't dream cancel much, he doesn't need to).  If I may, I would like to have him test Oswald out as he is one of the better Oswald players I have ever seen.

Even though you said this isn't supposed to be accurate, I would still like to state the following:

- Was it intentional to not be able catch 'Joker' off of a standing jab when it hits opponents in the air?
- Why does 'Back-Alley Spider' do less damage than 'Joker'?
- Interesting that you can hold both LP and HP versions of '4 Suits', but why does HP only do chip damage while LP does not?
- Why does 'Back-Alley Spider' do no chip damage?
- Thank God you put a damage damper on 'Ace'

Will look more into him later.

Well here is some NEW news that people might find interesting! Check out the blog update on the official page http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/official/kof-xiii/blog/archives/2010/08/post_28.html  It shows a few NEW sprites you guys might find interesting :)

Chang - He ate Choi, that's all there is to it.

Oswald - Doesn't look much different from his XI look

Malin - She looks to be wearing a vest now.  I don't think her character design is bad, though it would be nice if she was older.

Momoko - Hmmm...either someone goofed in the sprite color department, or she has a naval piercing.

I can't read Japanese but here's hoping these are WIP's for consoles or something, and not characters that were considered but dropped.

I liked it.  It was fun and worth the price to see, and it was different, in a good way.  As for following like the books, I myself have not read them yet, but a buddy of mine says that this looks to follow the same problem as Watchman (it's good but they could have done better even with what they had).

One thing I did not like about the movie was...

Don't know if this Mr. Fong's Yun or your Ortega but, the last hit of Yun's 'SOUL SLASHER' will miss Ortega.

So, I got to play the game at an arcade about almost an hour distance

- Before picking a team, you get the option of choosing the button command setup
AC
BD

or
BCD
A

- No one played anybody from the Psycho Soldier Team
- Terry, Andy, Joe, Raiden, Takuma, Elizabeth, and Mature were the most used
- Terry's Ultimate has no invulnerability frames.  I tried using it and got jabbed out of it.
-  Maxima Lift (the rushing grab move) looks like it can be blocked now
- Takuma is a beast.  His Zanretsuken looks to have very good recovery, and his command grab is disgusting (since you can combo off of it easily it looks like).  I don't like him.
- Andy also looks to be a contender due to his combos, and the fact that his Ultimate can be in the ground or air.
- Leona looks to better in all aspects except for her recovery time
- The fact that Ash can use 'Germinal' by itself as a normal move (without the locking attack effect) changes his gameplay a little bit.
- For Vice, I'm not sure if I like 'Da Cide' now bringing the opponent to you instead of throwing them (EX looks to do the same thing)  Would have been nice if one was different form the other.
- For Vice, DP punch is a nice move to go over fireballs as she leaps in an arc and grabs the opponent by the face and slams them down.  Though, if she misses, she goes in her CvS taunt.

Yes... and every Capcom game after that, including CvS2. Actually it's probably been in since SF2 or Zero2. I can't remember.

It has to be before the first attack frame though.
Well, for this Chun-Li, it can be before or during the attack frame.  It's real noticeable in HP (her arm can be fully extended out) and HK (can be in mid air during the kick)
- You can't hit 'Tenseiranka' after Lvl.1 'Hoyokusen' anymore, which is good.  Although, you can hit 'Kikosho' after Lvl.1 'Hoyokusen' which does some damage.
Intentional.
Fair enough.  Just keep in mind that hitting J. HP ->, J. HP -> close MP -> into Lvl.1 'Hoyokusen', Lvl. 2 'Kikosho' does 652.

Quote
- can still cancel into moves by attacking air
it's called a whiff cancel. play zero3.

You could cancel any missing standing or ducking attack into a super in Zero 3.  I didn't think it was that bad.

- can still cancel into moves by attacking air
- You're keeping being able to do CC after 'Hoyokusen'?
- You can't hit 'Tenseiranka' after Lvl.1 'Hoyokusen' anymore, which is good.  Although, you can hit 'Kikosho' after Lvl.1 'Hoyokusen' which does some damage.
- Because of the juggling properties of Lvl.2 'Hoyokusen', you can do J. HP -> J.HP -> close MP -> Lvl.2 'Hoyokusen' -> Lvl.1 'Tenseiranka' = 669
or
J. HP -> J.HP -> close MP -> Lvl.2 'Hoyokusen' -> Lvl.1 'Kikoken' = 662
- Maybe lower the damage of 'Tenseiranka' a little.

Also, you can CC after EX 'Spinning Bird Kick'.  That intentional?
Why wouldn't it be? What's the problem with that? It's not even very useful, the opponent is on the ground by the time you have a chance to do it.
If you go in the corner and do EX 'Spinning Bird', you can time the CC off it and connect basic attacks (JP, MP) before they hit the ground.
