This one was kind of a pain because other than it being captured, ripped and cut from scratch, a lot of work was put into adding
sprite room to this stage in order to make it superjump compatible...because in-game it was sooooo tiny.

Props go out to Mrgrill247, Tamez and MasterYoda for helping out and providing constructive feedback. Thanks amigos!

Many fans of Capcom may find some Nostalgia lurking around. ;)

NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AT MY SITE (CHECK OUT MY SIG  ;))

The crowd holding the Festival Dragon does not animate in game...so I may update it later.

I like my stages OLD SCHOOL, just like my Hip-Hop.  :D

Also...I'm in the process of updating my other stages, so they'll be back up sometime soon in my site.

Enjoy!

Good looking stage I'll try it out.

--

Well I tried it i don't know something about your shadows bug me.  Maybe you might consider changing the values to something like below?

--

[Shadow]
intensity = 140
color = 0,0,0
yscale = -.2
fade.range = -400,-100

That looks more accurate to the shadows on the characters in the background.  But, if yscale = -.2 I doesn't look right to you I personally would go with -.1

Feedback noted, values fixed and download link updated. Thanks bro!

For those of you who'd rather just go in the def file, I simply tweaked the following Bold lines like so:

[StageInfo]
zoffset       = 215
autoturn       = 1
resetBG      = 1

;--------------------------------------------------------

[Shadow]
intensity    = 180
yscale       = -.15
fade.range      = -400,-100

I'm also glad both of you guys enjoyed the stage so far. 8)

Heh, I recently started to get into classic stages myself.
Ripped off custom artwork from various graphic communities into stages with a slap on floor are really an eye sore.
Anyway who cares, I suppose :P

I noticed the shadow issue before Ex posted but it was taken cared of I see good job on that.

Anyway, good release.

Yeah, I obviously noticed the Old School flavor on your bonus stage, which I already told you was pretty pimp! ...And thanks bro, glad you liked it.

::)

Actually

the correct intensity and scale to match the characters is

intensity = 220
yscale    = -.13

and the correct range is

fade.range   = -200,-50

Heh, I recently started to get into classic stages myself.

over abusing particle illusion and excessive use of photoshop filters can do that

Ripped off custom artwork from various graphic communities into stages with a slap on floor are really an eye sore.

depends on how it was put together

coding skill and graphic programs are nothing if you throw everything into clusterfucked stages/screenpacks/chars

doesn't really matter if it's still 3-7 years in the making

it's still an eyesore

Not much of a difference?  The shadows won't be the same size due to the distance of lighting xP so really don't know.  I could be closer to the light and you father away the shape and size of the shadows would be different Imo.

3 feet apart doesn't make any difference when the light source is the sun

I know, its too easy and its sad.

-on topic-

The first shadow adjustments were fine as they were when corrected but its all up to Max anyway.
Btw, got another old school stage "and more" on the way I'm sure you would love as well.
I'll show you a screen in the chat later.

See ya. :)

Anyway who cares, I suppose :P
I guess my question to you is, when is the last time you completed a stage that wasn't a ripoff or modification of someone else's work? Or for that matter isn't padded with copious amounts of Particle Illusion emitters or requires character patching just to get it off the ground?

Also, if you think it's such an eyesore, why were you all over MOTVN's jock about making a Buster Kula remake (yet another unfinished W.I.P)? You know, the one where you "heavily modified" the stage by slapping an equalizer and the words "DANGER!" on the promo art? Plus there was Platinum Walls, Stealth, and Anti-11's stage Escape from Vino. I mean for someone with all of these "original" ideas you sure do borrow from other author's a lot. Speaking of the Stealth incident, I LoL'ed at this one pretty hard.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Haha, so you call taking MOTVN's stage, turning it pink, coding in a rotation that calls for character patching, applying a HUGE "wind effect" that further intensifies the ugliness you smeared on the stage (used to hide edges of the frame during the rotation due to missing image data), and overall bastardizing the stage an improvement? Please. If the future of MUGEN is in your hands, then I'm a little scared to be honest. Especially seeing how mostly everything you release is broken or incomplete in some manner. Your Shin Lv.2 Akuma, Dragon Guy, Strider, Strider HQ, and Requiem of the Damned - Yang Version, Contra minigame (sky chase with pits and required character patching), and your CS-X screenpack are all perfect examples. Speaking of the CS-X screenpack that took you way too long to complete, I think that's the real eyesore in MUGEN at the moment. The future of MUGEN isn't in your hands, it's in the hands of all the new creators and people who create what they want to create for the engine with the intent of improving the quality of material out there. Not in the hands of someone who can't even complete a single release.

Hank, Syn, motvn, do you really think that the release thread of another forum member is a proper place to have a "battle" amidst yourselves?
Is that respecting of OP?
Would you like it if we were to go do the same with your release threads? I dont think so.

I am not the one fighting nor catching feelings over something childish.
I merely was commenting about Max's stage.
Not my fault they crying over something so easily misunderstood and the sidekick comes out of nowhere, like he is well known for, and start vomiting random past crap on this thread.

already happened and plenty of failed attempts of it happening, so whats new?

@Max, unlike the two persistent crybabies on this thread, I had no intentions of derailing your release at all, which I haven't.
Hopefully "some" staff can see this.

Like I said, when I see you in the chat, Ill talk to you about what I mentioned on my last post.
I'll see you then.
