Since August I've been bombarded by various problems so much that I couldn't progress enough with this stage, but now I am quite satisfied with the turnout of this stage.

I present to you Desert Hill or Desert Land from Super Mario Bros. 3..



Little tidbits that may interest you:
  • Dancing Palm Trees
  • Animated things like coins and ? Blocks
  • Moving Goombas
  • Moving Clouds
  • Lakitu is still there floating
  • The Angry Sun

I am quite happy with what this stage has become, I'd like to hear your thoughts as well, here are the links to the stage:

Well Mr. Lennon.

I'm afraid not, the stage is just an amalgam of various things I found memorable in the 2nd World.

I would have added chain chomps or fire snakes, but there was no way I could manage to animate such things.

What if for your next Mario Bros stage try give some volume to the background blocks and scatter them over diferent layers to give them a less flat looking appearance?

Jut a sujestion suggestion

well I attempted to create an alternative non-Mario stage out of the concept of this stage which emphasizes on your suggestion, alas I haven't gotten around at attempting to continue with it.

All the Super Mario Bros. 3 stages, I've attempted to recreate the cartoony feel of the game, so yes it is kind of flat sometimes, which was my intention, maybe when I attempt recreating another Mario game I do hope I can put your advice to use, though that'll be a long time from now.
