This is a great release werewood. The things that bother me a bit is the dust FX but that's minor. also, just an idea, maybe you could make the bomerang a bit faster. Other than that, I like it.  :sugoi:

I've seen two Links in this style, and neither of them were good. I hope this is a different case. Testing when I can.

  • Wherever theres chaos, I'll be there.
He plays alright but I have 2 complaints.

One: All his arrows almost do the same amount of damage, except the Light Arrow does abit more but only by a little.

And Two:

If you do the Machine Gun Sword while you cornered your opponent, you basicly win by jabbing the X or Y button until the opponent is dead.

Fortunately I found out by testing that this only happens on very few stages like the one shown above.

Sorry but I only have this dust FX..........and making the Boomerang faster?  I will think about it......

@Tylor the Cliche':
>> I've seen two Links in this style
You mean with same sprites and button layout and moves?  And can you tell me the two authors please?

@D, The Red Cloak:
>> All his arrows almost do the same amount of damage, except the Light Arrow does abit more but only by a little.
Both wooden arrows do the same damages but the stronger version comes out much faster (hence the cancellable longer bow stretching time)
damge = 100,50 for both wooden arrows
damage=200,100 for the Light arrow super, not high enough?  but Link earns power fast and easy......... :???:

>> Fortunately I found out by testing that this only happens on very few stages like the one shown above.
All of this attack HitDefs already is given ground.cornerpush.veloff = -12 which is quite enough for corner push off........I think  that's the particular stages that render some strange edging.............sorry I don't have a solution to this problem.... :P

@soniku:
>> Where is this release on your page
Yo the top entry where you see Link fighting a big red dragon...................or you may want clear your web browser cache and refresh my MUGEN web page to see.........

The Light Arrow super is fine but I was thinking that you could weaken the regular arrows slightly, they themselves are abit overpowered to me is all.

Didn't he talk in the Oracle of Ages/Sessions manga?

jesus christ, do you know how to make a proper palette?
i stop testing after realizing that all of his sword attacks have no blue clsn, its not necessary and there has been bazillion debates about this, but when you have an attack that is spammable with no way of getting hit its not worth playing with at all.
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

@Tylor the Cliche':
>> No, I mean same sprites.
Oh I just found a LinkDX by SabataDX, with the same sprites.  If I knew of this LinkDX then I could have used its SFF instead of building my own SFF.............

@D, The Red Cloak:
>> The Light Arrow super is fine but I was thinking that you could weaken the regular arrows slightly, they themselves are abit overpowered to me is all.
I can lower the damage of wooden arrows and higher the damage of the Light arrow

@Shadow_Dio & Tylor the Cliche' & Llong Jjohn Killer
But MUGEN 1.0 has the win quotes feature that cannot be wasted...................

@Luis Alejandro:
>> jesus christ, do you know how to make a proper palette?
I don't know how to do palettes because my eyes are bad with colours.  That's why all my characters have bad palettes and in every of my readmes I ask people to make good palettes
>> realizing that all of his sword attacks have no blue clsn,
How can you hit one's weapon to damage the weapon's owner?????????????????????????????  Many sword-happy MUGEN characters don't have blue clsn boxes for the swords

@drewski90:
>> i discovered that his boomerang attack can't hit him/her or can it? I may be mistaken
The boomerang attack when it hits P2 the first time and if P2 is not guarding/blocking, it will send P2 into a dizzy/custom animation.  While P2 is in this custom state all subsequent boomerang attacks have no effect to prevent from infinite  ;)

  • I bite the faces of people who don't wanna be cool

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

Werewood, you can be color blind and still be able to make a proper palette. Your method of doing palettes is wrong. Read the narutorials by cyanide or the stage maker tutorial by cubaster.

A lot of characters don't have blue clsn boxes on weapon based moves and as I've said its not necessarily a big deal, but with your link his mash+ heavy attack is invulnerable to any attack that is not a projectile because of his long range and velocity of the move.
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

When Link used his Fairy move he can still do it wasting your power stock with the bottle already given to him. And also, why did you reuse the same hammer code from your Hammerin' Harry? Link's hammer is not even that strong.

@Luis Alejandro:
>> You're method of doing palettes is wrong
I don't use any special palette method at all; my bad palettes probably are due to the original sprites I rip -- sprites with already messy palettes in the first place.  So, if my ripped sprites suck then their palettes suck too.
One more thing, my eyes not only have colors problem................. :-\

>> but with your link his mash+ heavy attack is invulnerable to any attack that is not a projectile because of his long range and velocity of the move.
Okay if you think the Machine Gun Sword is too powerful with sword without blue clsn box, then please download this AIR patch:
http://page.freett.com/werewood/TLOZ_Link_Machine_Gun_Sword_with_sword_blue_clsn.air
*you must copy & paste the download link to your web browser's address bar

@Pimp Mario:
>> When Link used his Fairy move he can still do it wasting your power stock with the bottle already given to him.
Oh I forgot to disable the power consumption when the health bottle is present, I will fix it for the next update!
>> And also, why did you reuse the same hammer code from your Hammerin' Harry? Link's hammer is not even that strong.
Because I think a hammer can always send P2 high up into the air for juggling opportunity.  And Link's Megaton Hammer also works as a counter move too -- try to hit Link when he is doing his heavy motion (blinking in red)  ;D

Original sprite rips? These are chibi link sprites barely gba sprite style. All you had to do was rip the sprites from the sheet individually then index them, if you're not doing this then you are doing it wrong.

And no I'm not gonna download an air file
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.
