King of Fighters: Infinite Match

I was bored out of my mind and so I started playing around with one of my screenpacks and ended up with this.



It's not final as I have way too many things to do to it first starting with each character's font portraits (yah, they're custom as you can see) and that scrolling background I stole straight from KOFE(don't worry I'm going to change it with something I think looks better). The goal of this screenpack is to look like a KOF full game of sorts. No it isn't a leecher's screenpack but I might make a normal version if I can.

I might release this sometime soon. I haven't made anything in a long while anyway so it's nice to give something back to the community again.

Fonts aren't just limited to characters since they are actually just pictures assigned to letters/numbers/symbols.

Actually the portraits were ripped straight out of their games and weren't resized. So it's more on the quality of the portraits instead of the resolution.

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't use those KOF2k portraits for the names.

no i know that

one portrait has a better resolution than the other. it doesn't look good. and now that i think about it having two portraits for a character in the same screen is kinda overkill

Yah, now that you mention it, they're way too big. I managed to make them much smaller but I still can't get over the fact that you can't change the spacing between the names when selecting characters in team play.



There goes my idea. Maybe some Mugen clone will give that feature in the future. For now I'm stuck with fonts. Ugh...

I've put on hold working on the screenpack to work on the lifebars and I'm liking how it's turning out.



Ignore the powerbar fonts, combo counter and win icons. I'm still working on those. As you can see it's heavily based on the KOF2K1 lifebars. It is my favorite in the series so it's the one I picked.

Btw, is 9000,15 already used by some other screenpack's lifebars? I'm currently using it for mine.

I don't think having the lifebars over the portraits is a good idea.

Agreed.

I'd also prefer seeing real transparency than the false one used in old games, but it's up to you, these are your lifebars.
Also, try to make them look a little more high-res please. :)

Well, on the powerbars, there's a part in diagonal which we can clearly see is low-res. You can easily work on that.
Afterwards, all the lines which were previously one pixel large (and are now 2 pixel large due to being in HR) could be turned into 1 pixel large again or have a gradient applied on them. For example, the white border surrounding the powerbars could be one pixel large.

Why would you want the portraits over the lifebars...?

That'd be blocking like a couple pixels of the life.

I'm keeping the lifebar background non-transparent so it'll cover the parts below it. Also, I went cheap on that powerbar there. That diagonal line was getting on my nerves. :P

If you ask me, it looks more accurate with the diagonal lines.
