Now are two motifs, the normal and the classic look version.

Personaly i want one whit the old school vision, you know if MvC2 was a Compilation of copy/pasted character sprites,then how look the game in a classic format whit more good retro sprites.

Belive me it took me A LOT to make the first one to discard it like that,only i make an alternative to all.

belive me,dont be disappointed the images not reflect the real thing.


(the other screenpack is still alive   ;))

i still have the nearly complete 320x240 version for the beta mugen if you want it, but my goal always was "copy" the native 640x480 naomi/dreamcast resolution and thanks to mugen 1 can be possible:

 
 

anyway eventually, Ill release all version.

The original/accurate version is looking really good so far man.

The Japanese text in the main menu helps quite a bit too! ^_^

The full 320x240 version will be ONLY for normal Winmugen,Dosmugen and Linuxmugen users (plus xbox version); winmugen plus was dropped in favor to Mugen 1.

For people demmand ,there will be an Arcade and a Console version; you know,some dislike the console menu but not the big logo in "water".

Here are the current  select and versus screens for mugen 1 with their winmugen counterparts





Of course are FULL animated and re-ripped, one thing, winmugen version is 4 times smaller than mugen 1 due obvious sizes.

Are still in development as you can see.

p.d. current motif size is 103 mb
pd2, current storyboards size are 83 mb
PD3. select and versus backgrounds are the most heavier part.

Awesome man. Looking forward to release for the newest Mugen engine.

Are you planning on changing the fonts uses for the selection screen, as opposed to the default ones?

Those images are from march, i only want to make the ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 2 Mugen screenpack before Capcom anounce/release the third part.
Will be the last reference for the most amazing crossover game, so i need/want make it the most accurate Mugen version.
If have an arcade cabinet prepare it...

with the new release candidate number 8 of mugen 1 ,elecbyte make more customizable the portraits on the engine, so in the week ill update the new templates and the new characters images.

the new portrait order in MvC2 Mugen motif will be:

9000,0 small select portrait
9000,1 Big select for 1p
9000,2 Big select for 2p
9000,3 Versus portrait
9000,4 lifebar portrait

more motif updates soon.
(is taking a lot time due real life works)

how you think?

640x480 at 80%

logos finished   - naomi, dreamcast and devkit
intro almost finish - capcom logo and a long version introduction
game over done - try again complete
victory almost done - only few details
credits and ending almost done - missing credits itself
menu almost done - missing fonts on both versions
select almost done - few details to cover
versus almost done - only few coding

lifebars totally missed and must been redone.

Necrobump to this project and want to update this old topic.

After many years away from the mugen scene  I have time and desire to finish this project ;although not login at the forum, I have knowledge of the new engine and that will be very useful for this because the new video encoder and the ability to put 32bits images with transparences in the sff.
Also have noticed that the unfinished screenpack released before has been used in packaged projects , although by this time mvc2 it might not be as interesting as before it's a fun game and even seems there are many veterans throwing new releases.

ok, ok lets see the new for the old
I was finally able to get the yellowed versus screen vortex, also many other missed things; with that in mind  expect a screenpack better than before but still attached to the original game , of course with mugen restrictions.



Haha funny fact:
This is the third restart from scratch since the project started it, that´s why I have delayed too long and has bored me over the years.

I really not have much to show because the motif was nearly complete since 2011 but there are some shots.
all the backgrounds has been edited so now is much smaller in size and the intro now is shorter (the intro will be the last thing to finish) 



All the previous screenpack versions are merged in one with new improvements.
This weekend i have planned release one for all tipe of characters not so accurate.

***fun fact:  there are some edits of this screenpack that claim to be "complete" or packaged in full games, but much remains to be done.

There are different pictures in the arcade and console credits of the game just like the real one, here is one comparision example.


Added the marvel pages logo, like the one used in the IOS release
