Prehistoric Isle in 1930: the most fucking hard shooting game ever!! Too long stages, too many enemies since the first stage and spamming bosses... even in my MAME with freegame I can't finish it, imagine in arcades for its time :S

Metal Slug 1 can be finished with only 1 credit. It's all about saving your grenades.

Metal Slug 2 - you'll need to continue around 5 times if you're pretty good.

Metal Slug 3 - around 20 continues :S

I beat Metal Slug 2 and X without continues, and no more than 10 in Metal Slug 3.

I find this hard to believe. I can make it no continues half way to the final stage, and then massive hordes of Mars People happen spitting 3 to 5 slow laser balls each, and last boss has 3 mars people in small ships targeting you with direction changing lasers. I wish I could believe you, and I would pay good money to see that if it were true.

I beat metal Slug X without continues too (playing with a partner, by the way)
The final boss is pretty difficult, that's right. You could find up to 4 mars people shooting at you at the same time (not only 3) but it's not SOOO hard.
I find metal slug 3 more difficult from far!!! (I've never played it, but I saw my boyfriend doing so! O_O A real nightmare!)
That money could be a good Xmas gift!  :P (Save it anyway)

Even If I played Metal Slug 3 like six years ago.

I'm still mind blown about how epic the last level was.

But still I had to die like 100 times :(

I can just make it through the last level with only losing 15 credits :(((

I love play shooting games with a partner. I can't find those games funny without a friend.  :(
Just like mugen. If I play KOF alone, ok, it's funny, but if I play mugen alone it's so bored!  --; I prefer co-op :grin2:!

Good example here is Geese in Real Bout Fatal Fury. He will counter every move you throw at him, and his Thunder Break is an instant kill.

But there is a very easy way to beat him - Dash at him and jump, at the top height of your jump press C (Strong Attack), Geese will try to counter it, but you'll recover and land, allowing you to start up a combo on Geese. This allows you to easily get perfects on him, so long he doesn't decide to suddenly Raging Storm/Thunder Break while you jump at him.

I beat Geese in RBFF with a Shitloads of power dunks with terry, it was hard at the beggining, but i've discovered a way to hit him with power dunks all of the time

I heard that bosses are vulnerable to low kicks. Tried it in KOF 98. It seems to work occasionally.

Or maybe I'm just lucky.

I just played some Super Turbo.

God CPU in this game is a bastard, especially Cammy.

Doesn't help the CPU does like 25-50% more damage than normal. Cammy's Cannon Drill did like 3/4 of my life.

If you spam enough Sonic Boom's with Guile, you can bait the CPU into jumping and just hit them with a crouching fierce or air-throw them.

thought this was a neo geo topic.

@walt I find metal slug 3 to be the easiest out of 1+2. Maybe because I never fully played them as much as 3. 4- till Clark and ralph can burn.

Vans and I played with 99 lives. We both had to continue (I sooner than he).
