Awesome!! Just take a look in his upper arm, maybe a bit of light(second flesh color would work) will do the magic ;)!

omg chizuruuuuuu
He's already spriting three other characters from scratch.

Not at all. Is ONE from scratch(Viper), the others have some things, but not 100% :P!

And canceled the one I wanted.

I wanted to do her too, but lack of time :S. I'll PM you in a few.

But knowing him he will eventually start it again.

Maybe not. I have some reasons around :S

I swear there was something cool here!!

Maybe it's the outfit, but he doesn't have a butt. Other than that it's cool.

Shading is off, face and abs look weird.
Other than that, it looks good.

@Felo
I trust you'll start her again.

Messing around with this sprite, now hes accurate to scale, 5 pixels taller than ken.
Spriting is hard.

I like your work Koju, as well as your signature. That would be a cool idea. ~

  • May as well have a bit of class.

That's not the problem. He's not shaded with the lightsource directly above him, and the proportions seem weird to me. Not sure what it is that's making me think that, though.

I think it's rolento that has an in-depth study of how CvS style works. The rest of the thread should also have some helpful info.

Is he too big

Size is one issue.
Light source should be from up above him and aimed straight down.
You dont seem to anti-alias your sprites. (Which means the bright colors shouldn't be oulined by the second lightest color.) Larger areas should be 6 to 7 colors, you have several smaller bits that have 4 when the dont need that many.
Metallic objects are shaded differently in cvs.

Your shapes are soft, some areas souldnt be that round, and you need to work on the hands.

I hate giving crittiques.
Spriting is hard.

That's probably too many in most cases. I'm looking at CVS Kyosuke sprites right now, and even though most of his outfit is white, there's only 5 shades for it, so 5 really should be fine.

Yamazaki is 6 on his grey. I miscounted Rugal's suit colors. 5 defininately.
Spriting is hard.

Yamazaki's suit is 6 colors because that makes up the majority of the sprite. For someone more colorful like Terry, there's maybe 4 shades for each piece at most.
