Hi there !After coming back from my old site where i was killing some nostalgia, i realized that in this forum there's is still nota way of finding fast (even if it's just a name for googling) the creators of some chars.I noticed that there is a creators list here, but does not indicate the creations. And so an ideia was born in my head of bringing the old mugen guild model to a simple subforum here...It would something like one subforum with a topic for every game that is(was) released with a list of all chars of the gamefollowed by a list of creators (with link) for each char...It could be one stickied main thread that i would update and then several threads, one per game where people can post links, discuss and suggest additions or removals. What do you guys think ?
Altough i've been away, i actually proposed this because i "feel" dedicated enough to make it work 8)

Game series:Game name:editor:year of release:character name:character descriptionauthorlinksprite source: original/edited/ripsprite style: cvs/snk kof/guilty gearcode style edited: custom/original
The old way was done like this.CategoryWTF was this named anyway?Board 1 Capcomsub forum 1 Street Fightersub forum 2 DarkstalkersBoard 2 SNKWell you get the idea. Don't remember if it was devided by specific games. If so I'd say sprite style onlyLike SFA, SF2, SF3, CvsS, etc
I'll start with company name, then game name, finally, even character can have their respective thread in that hierarchy.I also suggest an original and edited characters subgroup. the original characters are grouped by the full game they were introduced or misc, and from the misc section, further classified by their author's name. The edited characters subgroup has the same hierarchy as the licensed character one.

Well i agree with the game company separation, but my ideia would be to kiss it as simple as possibleso it could be easily and fast to update... So it could be something like :Game Company Board one Topic for each gameand the on each topic a list of chars and creators like:Marco Rodriguez : MMRHotaru Futaba : Jin Kazama, Adamskie......would also have a edited and original section like mentioned too...

thus my suggestion, instead of separating "edited" chars into a separate thing, just have a variable that states how close or how far from the original it is.code style or whatever. that way you can note which chars are , lets say, mvc styled kings.
But still included in the "original" game topic, it that it ? Yes, i think it's a very good idea. They could then be also group by style for example...The edited section would have only the original ones then maybe...
Seems like an interesting idea if you're in the need of people for keeping this organized I'll volunteer as well, I think I have the dedication
I would still put them under the name of the game, because whoever is searching for a king, would look in AOF ( or kof i guess) and then they could select one of the several kings there including the mvc styled one.For original I would leave those characters that werent really from fighting games.
all in all, your idea reminds me a lot of a mugen wiki, wouldnt it be a better effort to strenghten one of the already existing ones instead of starting one anew?
