not a true hi-res, just filtered and edited but I think its an improvement over that past filtered characters. I wouldnt use it though, not a big fan of filtered sprites.

It is hi-res. That's how the XBLA release of NGBC did the "HD porting".

They're actually half-filtered, with detail given to everyone's face and hair. They just pillowshaded it to hell with a complete disregard of color contrast so it looks like shit. Reduce the color count on properly sorted color indexes, though, and for the most part it will look fucking cool.

Sadly, it does not save her goddamn poofy pants as there are spots where it's lossy as hell and the hands are beyond saving because those were also among the filtered to an extent, but if you did that on King Lion or Mizuchi or even Haohmaru (due to presence of folding in clothes), it'd look sweet as hell.
