Wow, Kotaku has picked up on this? Nice to see that this info is spreading and lots of people are enjoying it. There's still a lot of stuff I have yet to add, including lots of Final Fight-related anecdotes, so make sure to keep checking in occasionally.

Wait until they twist Nishitani's tweet about Chun-Li stockings so it sounds perverted.

I'd like to report two robots on the MFG forums: One is EXShadow. The other is Saikoro.
There should be a Saikoro plugin for Photoshop.

It's gone on to Eventhubs too, this topic is spreading like wildfire, all in one day.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

THIS

Absolutely. It's always a pleasure to hear about the behind the scenes stuff, especially for such a well renowned game. Also, back when SF2 came out, we didn't have DVDs/Blu Rays with commentary or access to the net like we do today. Shit, I remember thinking how cool it was to communicate with people through FTP chat servers and talking to people with FAQs that they printed while at the arcade. The guy who had all of the MK3 moves printed out was that awesome guy. Everyone talked to that awesome guy.

Because he had the internets.

Nowadays, Wiki this or Google that. To hear Nishitani speak out about this stuff is like finding a treasure trove of riches. Or maybe he is doing all of this now because Capcom secretively wants hype for Ultra SFIV :ninja:

Nishitani isn't at Capcom anymore, he founded Arika in '95.
I saw a French gaming site post about this topic too, it's everywhere.

  • Fuck You.
that's silly

nothing felineki does is pointless

he does it for the people

on that note if those mechanics were implemented earlier holy shit would sf2 be even more ahead of its time
i cant count the reasons i should stay

one by one they all just fade away...

Added some Final Fight anecdotes regarding points for dropped weapons, time limits, gum, birthdays, rare difficulty spikes and drops, Muramasa blades, and Engrish spellings with unfortunate implications.
