Well, they do call it the 'sweet science' after all.

I don't like it either but that's how it works.
This 'Sweet Science' concept is bullshit, and I do hope this trend ends soon.

Boxing is about being the toughest guy. "Punch and not getting punched" means your guard is right. Parrying at the right time, Waist movement ... not that running around cowardly bullshit.

Long live the king, future hall of famer Floyd Mayweather Jr., creator of American Style Boxing. RIP Boxing.

Floyd confirmed for turtle; Manny's rushdown had no effect...

Once upon a time, the best boxer in the world knocked down anyone with relative ease. Combined with a solid defense, he had hand speed and strength rivaled by none. Billed as the baddest man on the planet, he was the face of Boxing.

Wow have things changed.

I can assure you that the number of times he hugged Pacquio during the fight dwarves by a great margin the number of times I have hugged a man in the last 5 years.

In other words, someone who keeps running away is considered as "in control" of the match, and number crunching is more important than the actual effect of a punch.
Boxing.

A similar example in Soccer is the "Catenaccio", that is, having the whole team defend in their own goal area and secure the match. It's anti-soccer but still it gets wins and trophies, just ask José Mourinho.

Thing is, what Mayweather does works. It may not be the flashiest style of boxing out there, but the guy is 48-0. That means something to me.

If one can win 48 fights in a row using a keep away tactic, then go ahead. I'm not going to stop you. Just remember that one day, that tactic might backfire and you'll get that dreaded first loss.
