I applied what I felt was necessary. HQ, I'm sorry but that face is a deal breaker Lol. And yes the scar is on a separate layer (in the main file). Anywho, I've got more important things to finish up before I mess with this anymore - if at all.

Well, if you want my opinion about it, it seems the colors are way too dark.
Compare it to Goku, for instance:

I always noted this... Guess it's just me.
Anyways, colors aren't that dark. They are colorful, but the edges are quite dark.
Think of 3S sprites like this one of Twelve ( Yes, I'm ripping you off, Smurfyeah

)

You see the colors aren't that dark yet the edges are quite dark and it fits and seems similar to other characters, as in compare Twelve to 3S Ken:

The colors are similar because they need to be similar, otherwise it would look off in the game, as if it's like I picked a character from, let's say CvS, with it's specific shading and put it in the same game as a 3S character. The shading wouldn't match, the colors wouldn't match, proportions wouldn't match and the game looks weird, and thats something I really didn't like about CvS 2 with the Alpha characters shoved in.
Now, this may seem a bit picky and arrogant, but why don't we try using my colors instead?
Before you see my recolor, a few notes:
1. Eye may deserve some redoing, but I ain't doing it.
2. As a lurker, I learned that edging out pixels is bad, so I softened them up a little bit. This should be a bit better, but you did it a lot as well.
3. His scar healed shortly after his battle with Mercenary Tao. At Episode 139 ( Which, fun fact, is stated to be Normal Roshi's power level. ), it's healed already, as in it's not red and seemingly bloody, it has a skin toned color, so I edited that too. Maybe the color I used was too dark, but I also wanted it to be clear that he has a scar and for it to be more similar to Sagat's.

Now, compare his colors to Goku's and you'll see that they are more "happy" and are brighter. This is what I mean.
Well, I like how this project is going forward!
Maybe until the end of the month, we see a super or two, huh?

EDIT:
Looking at it again, maybe not the best colors, but you get the idea. Maybe I'll remake it later. Now I'll get some sleep.

Don't use Goku sprites as a reference, especially not those since those are very old.

The colors chosen where to match my own Z2 palettes. Tien hasn't even been color separated yet, lol! So for now, it's a waste of time to be concerned with colors. Finishing animations needs to be the priority.

Just a important detail, need to be concerned by these now, they were my downfall last time.
Also, couldn't find any other Goku Z2 gif, so yeah, sorry about that!

This looks like an awesome project! But I don't think the face on that sprite looks like Tien:

I tried changing it, just some small suggestions you may consider!

It looks better, more serious and Tien-ish, but considering other Z2 faces, they do look a bit "childish".
But if you ask me, it looks way better.
EDIT: I'm making a Tien portrait. Almost done with the skeleton, probably will do another post today.
Also, ITS FRIDAY, FINALLY! Now I got more time to work on Tien!

Jeez, sorry Alexsin. I usually don't search for my gifs and images in the forum :/
Also, the face is a no deal if you ask me and he looks way too tall. His legs are gigantic!
He is supposed to be a head taller than Goku and around same build, maybe seems like stronger physically.
His 4 pack looks inflated, so does his chest and his wrist is really thin compared to his arm, but I guess that's normal.
TL;DR: It looks like Tien on steroids, no offence. Also his head looks misplaced.
However the shoes do look a bit better.
Smurf did some edits already, won't post it here just yet, we are getting stuff done.
EDIT: Alexsin, for all intents and purposes, this post should go to Projects, or am I mistaken? For all I know, this should be considered a Project.

There isn't much progress shown, so it should remain here.

If you have 3 (three) animations done, it can go in Sprite Projects;
if you also have some coding development (with some proofs shown in the topic) it can be moved in Projects.

I hope that clears it up.

Well, update.
This actually has aged, but well, I don't care.
Tien has a few new changes and it's final ( at least for now ) and I'll color separate it soon ( hopefully ). The only thing I'd fix is the face.

Also working on the portrait. I'll begin coloring it god knows when.

Also, new face on work, since his old one had his shirt and I could make the face better.

New animations coming up soon

Well, I added a new color for shading, fixed tons of things, changed the colors and fixed it up a little bit.
There is a specific area of shading that everyone will notice ( lower right corner ) that I added due to it having nothing there. If one objects or decides that I shouldn't have added it since it messes up the shading, no problem, I'll remove it, but I didn't have a problem with it.
