i really can't wrap my head around this preordering games thing, i have no idea why people do it.not only are you encouraging shitty company practices like preorder exclusive content, but you're also paying for something that you're not gonna play immediately, you'll have to wait for it anyways. you also have no idea if its gonna be good or not, best case scenario is you getting a bug ridden game game, worst case scenario is you paying full retail price for a shitty game.so yeah, do you preorder? tell me why do you do it?
tell me why do you do it?- Because I like the videogame. And probably because I want to secure my copy on DAY ONE upon release.
I'm really not sure what other answer is needed other than liking the game. Most of the time you'll know what you're getting anyway (preorder stuff and all) and if it'll be good or not. It's not like the 90s where all you had to go off of were magazines and television.
The only time I will preorder something is if it's a Nintendo product. Especially a limited edition game, because it will be impossible to purchase afterwards.I hardly ever preorder anything else unless I'm doing it at a brick and mortar and am just basically paying a little on it every paycheck
i preorder games when1: there's a legitimate risk it will be sold out if i get there too late2: the developer has a good track recordwhich doesn't sound that insane to me
I preorder games i want since digital copies on ps4 allow you to download a couple days in advance so you're literally able to play it a couple hours before they release it in stores, i.e. I preorder tekken 7 and was able to play it on the 1st of june rather than having to drive out to a store and get it
Anyone remember Xenoblade Chronicles in North America?I'm glad I pre-ordered my copy back then since it quickly became hard to find for a decent price.Though with its re-releases, it should be easier to get these days.People in Europe and Japan also had plenty of time to play and review it so I knew I'd enjoy what I was about to play.
AerosMugen said, June 13, 2017, 11:23:37 pm... and to not spend my money on something else.that's exactly what you should do. spend your money on something that's readily available, because i don't think investing your money in something that you'll have to wait for a long time is smart.Speedpreacher said, June 13, 2017, 11:44:48 pmEspecially a limited edition game, because it will be impossible to purchase afterwards.now thats what i hate about this whole thing. how they're insecure about their games and are afraid of critics cutting down their sales so they resort to manipulating people into preordering by offering a few extra things in those limited editions.
You're just starting from the assumption that the game will end up bad or you won't like it. Which is fucking stupid. It actually IS possible to enjoy a game, in which case preordering something that you know you'll buy anyway is just fine.
I preorder most every fighter because I know I'll buy them. And in cases like KOF14 Special Edition I knew no store would actually order copies of it. I was right I never saw that in stores besides the one I preordered. Again, I can only see arguments about digitally preordering. The best I saw for that is you can play it a few hours early sometimes. That's not really a big deal imo :p
>Have "extra" money, the money is already there.>I´m really interested on that game and show up as Pre-Order.>Doesn´t really need the money for anything else."Meh, screw it."*Preorder*Simple as that but honestly all depends on the game... Also! if comes bonus stuff which is like a plus on something already was planning to buy anyway.Like the Two DB Xenoverse Games or Zelda Wind Waker, two series i totally love.
I never preorder games, but I do preorder toys, I guess with games you get a lesser risk because the game can be patched if it has flaws not with toys, but the reasons to preorder are more likely scarcity, lower price, and sometime special bonus included with preordered set
When pre-order of "day one edition" is cheaper than the standard versions.I never pre-order digital games.
Basically to secure myself a copy. I don't put the full thing down when I do, maybe like $5, and I pay the rest off when it comes out.
To support the company and to make sure I have a day one copy. When I used to live near better game stores, I'd also trade in games and put the credit towards preorders, because it made me the most money to do it that way.I don't preorder anywhere near all the games I buy, but I do preorder the ones I'm really hyped for. I had Pokemon Moon, FFXV, and Breath of the Wild fully paid off before they came out, and I had some money down on Nier Automata and Tekken 7 as well.
I don't. Pre-ordering doesn't suit my lifestyle or spending habits. I only ever buy games at full price unless they are Nintendo games (since they generally don't price drop in a meaningful way), or if it's a company I still like and want to support, or a friend really wants to multiplay it up. Even in these cases I still won't pre-order. I usually wait a year and get it when it's $30-$40 new or longer and grab it for $20. I don't play competitive multiplayer games since they are often short lived titles and are typically missing the fun factor I look for in games, so there's no real incentive for me to get that stuff brand new either.Pre-ordering only makes sense to me if the game has marketing hype, the company indicates a potential struggle to meet demand, and for some reason I don't have the patience to wait for the second release cycle to play some game. Additionally pre-order only content, aside from what I'd consider a shitty practice, has never had anything that appeals to me enough to make a pre-order even close to worth it.
