Yeah switch has Unreal 4 api's. Specifically Switch already runs games that push ps4 pretty hard (Snake pass runs 30fps and below 900p on ps4) and as he said it's not a lack of power issue.

Not to mention, Arc Sys made GGXrd Work on PS3. AFAIK Wii U was already a machine that looked better than PS3, and Switch even more so. Maybe they cann make this work. It'd have a sick attach rate.

I doubt we'd only get 16, as this is a 3v3 fighter and they're using eBay as reference, I'm hoping for at least the end roster, probably with the addition of like zamasu/Goku black.

I have no strong feelings it'll come true, but after Xenoverse, seeing what's going on in Heroes and just now starting Dragon Ball Fusions myself, I'd like a GT rep, seeing the games thus far have been trying to keep that alive in some fashion.  Also unlikely but unrelated to GT, I've tended to like the attempts at Videl past games have tried, with a significant lack of focus on ki and projectile based attacks, and all on physical.  Something like that would be awesome here, with everyone else under the sun having beam attacks.

But beyond what we've seen thus far?  All I really need is 17, 18 and Piccolo.  And two of those three are practically guaranteed in a DBZ game.

My thoughts exactly. Pretty sure there won't be transformations as alternate versions of characters, since they're being done as special commands during gameplay. And I'd rather have a focused roster than having dozens upon dozens of characters that are all just the same characters with little differentiation or total moveset clones.

Right now we have Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Freeza, Cell, Majin Boo and Future Trunks. It's easy to guess they'll only add the most important/popular characters, so it's a given we'll get at least Krilin, Piccolo and #18, rounding 10 characters. Over that I'd guess Gotenks, Tien, Dr. Gero, Ginyu, Dabura and Beerus (16 characters).

And never count out Bardock that guy is in everything.

I seriously doubt it would only be 12-16. Dragon Ball has a long established lore and a bunch of characters with moveset potential to work with.

It even uses manga panels as references like @yaret showed.

Why does this matter regarding the number of characters?
The process of animating every character is the same they used in GGXrd, wich by everything they said after release, takes a looooot of time.

I doubt they'll put any movie-only characters, at least initially.

They will probably make a exception for Broly, because of his popularity, they put Broly in Anything right now, Japan get's this Dragon Ball 4D Thing with "God Broly" who looks a lot like SSJ3 Broly, Dragon Ball Super has it's Female Broly look a like, and I think it was Dokan Battle that get's also a new version of Broly soon, so It would be odd if they don't add Broly to this game too.

Well, considering they created pretty everything from the ground up with GGXrd while with this game the source is already there for them and there's so much more to work with.

Besides, you'll be alienating a huge chunk of the playerbase with such a pitiful roster. 20-30 or it won't sell.
