Hi dxwho,I would love you to teach me how to rip these sprites from Pit-Fighter. Would you please let me know the techniques and tools required to remove scaling and backgrounds and to rip every sprite from the arcade ROMS? I saw that many of the fighters do have unused sprites for moves we never see in the game. How did you extract them out of the ROMS?Some examples of unused sprites are the 'diving' move where Chainman Eddie throws himself over a fallen enemy on the ground, Mad Miles doing a spin punch and cleaning sweat from his forehead, Ty doing a sweep kick and many other moves.
Check the PM I sent you for detailed instructions on how to use the cheats made by N. to rip Pit Fighter sprites in MAME.
Thanks A LOT dxwho!! I will check the file you sent me today. I've downloaded it so you can now remove it from your online storage. P.S. - I do not have permission to send Private Messages, that's why I'm replying to you here.
Wow!! Just WooooW!! This Pit-Fighter sprite ripping engine you sent me is AWESOME!!! I love it! And big thanks for that very detailed guide as well.Just one more question: How did you rip the fighters sprites with the scaling turned off? I'm asking this because during matches, the camera zoom distorts the fighters graphics a little bit and it would be nice to know how to disable scaling so they all could be ripped without any distortion. In fact this is not even an issue, but would be nice though Thank you very much man!!
Your right. I left out the final steps in my instructions. Check your PM's for a link to a video showing the steps I took!

dxwho said, July 21, 2017, 05:02:26 pmYour right. I left out the final steps in my instructions. Check your PM's for a link to a video showing the steps I took! After following the steps from the video you sent me, I've managed to rip both Kato and Ty without any rescaling and with their original colors (Ty with red pants and Kato with yellow pants)! If you want these sets, here are the links:http://rcoltrane.50webs.com/pitfight%20-%20kato%20sprites%20without%20any%20rescaling.ziphttp://rcoltrane.50webs.com/pitfight%20-%20ty%20sprites%20without%20any%20rescaling.zipJust let me know after you grab the files so I can remove them from my online storage. One question: Which fighting engine do you think is the best to use these sprites into nowadays? I'm not very updated with current fighting engines so I don't know which ones do use digitized fighters with A.I. already implemented. Last one I heard of was Real Fighter, but it was a loooong time ago and I don't know if that project is still being updated.Cheers,RC
Thanks, I've just finished downloading the sprites. As far as fighting engines are concerned, Mugen is the king of fighting game engines and the AI implementation has been updated in the latest version. Keep your eyes on the Unreal Fighter 2d engine being created by Achilleon (there's a topic for it under "Gaming" (Arts and Entertainment)). Once released, it should topple the king and take the throne as best 2d fighting game engine.
Thanks, I will keep an eye on that Unreal Fighter 2d, looks very promising!! BTW, do you know where I can find the sprites of Guile, from SFTM? It has a huge amount of sprites and I have no time to rip this thing right now.Cheers,RC
dxwho.... a suggestion: it would be interesting for you to change the topic namenew games, new spriteswelcome always... thanks
