Wow, it's been so long since I've done one of these lol. It's been a while since I've touched MUGEN, period, in fact. In any event, welcome to my first serious WIP in 5 years: The Legendary Super Saiyan - Broli.

I'm using the Extreme Butouden sprite set, which is a bit limited, but I see it more as a challenge than a hurdle.

He'll use 4 buttons:

a = teleport
b = ki attack
x = weak attack
y = strong attack

To add a bit of flavor, additional low level attacks are mainly command normals instead of chaining from repeatedly pressing a single button like the source game. I'm also aiming for combos to be based more on juggles than chains.

At the moment his juggle system is extremely lenient as I try to figure out what works, and what needs to be tightened up a bit. As far as what's still missing:

A hand full of required sprites (I didn't miss doing these at all lol)
3 additional special moves
Wall splat, wall bounce and ground bounce system
Super moves
Defense systems
Properly scaled hitsparks
Sounds and effects
Intros/win poses

Well, there you have it. I'll be working on him during my off-time so it might take a while to finish, but I'm having a lot of fun getting back into MUGEN.

@mete122: Yeah, I haven't turned them into helpers yet, so they're still pretty oversized. I just got sick of looking at MUGEN's default sparks lol.

I've added 2 new special moves to Broli: God Slayer and Gigaton Thrust. They're both command grabs, with God Slayer being ground based while Gigaton Thrust is aerial.

Here's a vid of them both in a combo (ignore the damage).



GT will allow you to throw your opponent either in front or behind you. I'm planning to give it follow up where Broli stomps them while they're on the ground as well, at the cost of some meter.

Also here's a palette template for anyone that's interested. I'm not a fan of palette selectors so I'll probably just choose the ones I like the most.

Wonder if you could add a new fx on the teleportation, like in the new DBZ game. It gives more added depth of movement from one location, to the next. Also, will he have those great voices from the first movie. Keep up the hard work, just another one of your fan's.lol

Thanks, man. Yeah, those effects are definitely coming. He's missing quite a few of them right now lol. Regarding the movie voices, however, I'm not so sure. If I can do it in a way that doesn't break the flow of gameplay, then maybe.

Maybe have some with his intro transformation. I don't know maybe have a alternate code, for his full transformation from the movie. Also, when he grab someone, having that crazy dark laugh. I will defiantly be keeping an eye out for some clean sound rip's. Good luck and keep it rocking.

Ok, so I made a few changes recently.

Added an effect for his teleport to make it more authentic.
Added ground bounce to strong attack if it hits the enemy in the air
Reigned in the damage a bit and added a dampener
Some fine tuning and other minor adjustments
