I'm still impressed with how much power Vegeta's gained especially plowing right through Toppo like he did. shattering Hakai energy is as much of a surprise as Goku going Ultra Instinct the first time. He's stepped up his game.

In all likelihood, that's what they're going to say if needed to explain this scene in any further detail, but it completely negates the point of having the bomb to begin with, and it's a total misdirection because it was one of the few things we can say we know for certain about Android 17 and 18.

I've thought about it since Saturday, and we know for sure in Super they addressed that he had the bomb removed via Krillin's wish back when Cell was defeated.  So perhaps in the time since we've not seen him, he had his own reasons to install a new one?  This falls apart of course at the fact that for whatever reason he would consider suicide as a self-sacrifice, the bomb that would at least be a planet cracker, and he'd just be destroying the very thing he's trying to protect by accident.  Also, what the hell kind of conflict would he be getting caught in outside the Z Warriors' radar that's above poachers that would demand reinstalling a bomb that was one of the handful of alterations they despised Gero for?

I'm sorry, it's just....so stupid.

The bomb was a self destruct device for Gero to activate if #17 and #18 turned against him, not something they were meant to use for themselves. #16 was fully under Gero's orders, being an actual robot and all, so the bomb was just one of his weapons. 17 and 18 were a threat to Gero, so the bomb wasn't something they were supposed to use.
The scene didn't seem to even bring it up at all anyway. It's not something that seemed worth thinking too hard about IMO, it's just something he could do. I didn't feel it had to be connected to that particular bomb.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

Yeah it seems he just ignited himself . The bombs were removed by Krillin wish and were a security in place by Gero ( hence the remotes to trigger them)

Meh.  They had their opportunity for silver hair back when Super Saiyan God was announced, seeing in appearance that's all this is, this just feels silly to alter the Ultra Instinct form even further and add it now.  I'll ditto ShinZankuro here and vouch that it looked better with the base black hair too.  Besides, why would it change hair color, it's not tied to Super Saiyan and others who tap into a similar power don't alter themselves?  And yeah, I know the answer to that is "It's Dragon Ball after Z" and "Merchandising", but still.

Eh, I guess if Vegeta's got to change his hair to a deeper shade of blue, Goku's gotta do something.  Oh well.
