They don't hate them, 50% of people just virtually haven't played anything other than either SSF2T, SF3:TS or MvC2. Oh wait, and there's SF4 now.

I know what you mean, but life is too short to be little...! Playing a decade of one game must get really old, and if you take that long to get any good then I suppose you were already forcing yourself when you could've been playing a game that suits you better. There are many skills that transfer between games anyway (though others can be terrible like parry reflexes).I kinda chuckle when I see an SRK thread about this guy that just experienced playing one game and trying to do something from another game automatically (eg said parry reflex in SF4), it's like they're game change virgins.

The funniest thing about that place is how they keep comparing SF2 to a masterful game of chess, as though it was the deepest fighter ever made. I'm not badmouthing SF2, just I imagine one of those hardcore chess players who played in those worldwide chess championships would be pretty annoyed seeing a bunch of guys comparing a 2d fighting game to their craft. That and this obsession with tiers which usually results in this:-some tourney players discover some broken ish in several characters-forums posts full of people nuthugging said characters and only picking them(even when playing their friends for fun), and ranting how every other character is garbage and shouldn't be used-Japanese tourney player uses some character everyone said wasn't worth using and owns some American tourney player-SRK members then say that character is amazing and top tier and starts using that one
