Hi to everyone

here you are a list of the new mugen-compatible-engines found around the web.
The list was started by Lasombra Demon on RandomSelect forum, and i've done some improvements and copied it on many other forum.
Currenlty we are "interviewing" the author of each engine with some questions, just to make it clear to everyone "how it's going on".
You can find the list on:

Hi,
First, thanks you for you interesting to my project, but sorry for my english, i am french :-)
1) Mugen compatiblity -  Yes, Direct-Xion-Game will be compatible with MUGEN creations, but DXG isn't a MUGEN clone. I make some programs to allow specific MUGEN files conversion, I also plan to protect the authors by an encryption system.
2) Current status? % done? - I am on this project for a long time, my objective is to finish it before 2010:-). This project is actually approximately at 65 % of his development.
3) Open Source? - I doesn't plan to release the sources for this moment because a company maybe plan to use it for a fighting game. Maybe later i think.
4) plans/features/platform? - General features :
 - Direct3D rendering for best performances
 - Possible 3D object rendering into stages
 - Collisions interaction with chars and stages
 - MUGEN compatibility for sprites, sounds and maybe states
 - Moveable Plugin architecture (graphic, audio, network, input)
 - Other animation approach (rotation, color filtering)
 - Components (sprites, sounds etc..) protected by encryption
 - High Sprites resolution and deph (16 or 32 bits for alpha blending)
 - New states controller and trigger
 - Some tools to make components (sprites, sounds etc..)
 - No English documention avalaible :-(
5) Cooperate/merge with other projects? - Why not ?! :-)

He's talking about Mugen Clones (with additionnal features) rather than general fighting making engines, otherwise, there'd be a ton more listed in here.

hmm, i see, either way, i always wanted to give xnaMUGEN and ShugenDO a try, but living in this era without any pixel shaders isnt quite good.

Babelfish says that a Sea Urchin is managing the game.  I'd say the Infinity Cat is 100% on the right track then.

@ becoolnike
Hi, i'm very pleased to talk with the creator of FEO.
I've send an email at the address written in your profile with some questions about your engine: I'll be so grateful if you can send me the answers so i can "spread the (good) word" about your engine.
and what about the googlecode homepage? are you still using it? last update is from 2007.

@ felineki
Thank you so much for your infos but i've some problems with jap (my girlfriend is studing it, but she is only at the first year :D) and i can't find how to write at SofiaCat with the "interview questions" about his/her project. can you help me with this? i can send you the questions by PM.

@everyone
this idea of setting up an updated list of all the mugen-compatibile-engines all around the world was started by Lasombra Demon on Randomselect, and then i decided to give my help.
Anyone who wants/can help this "project" is welcome.

Basically on 04/28 he was trying to have a look at shaders, and working on palettes and textures on which he's having troubles applying one to the other. He'll need to work on HSV<->RGB conversion, color inversion... Stuff that shouldn't be hard. But since he made several attempts on that, if he still can't get it right, he'll give shaders a try.

I don't really see any contact information.

@byakko
Hi Byakko and thank you to have shared with us important details about InfCat.
Some days ago i've written an email at the address on infcat sourceforge page, but i've not received any reply to it.
i'm wondering if you can "give" him the following text:
Code:
Hi
i'm GREZZO16, a long timed Mugen player and i've just discovered your project: building an engine from scratch it should be an hard work.
Me and LasombraDemon (another mugen-fanatic) are working to build a list of the new engines Mugen-Compatible
currently in development: you can see the current list on the following threads:
- http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=23468.0
- http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=98981.0
- http://www.mugenation.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9461

So, I'm here to ask you some questions, like an "interview", to improve the list and to "spread the word" about the projects.

Are you ready? here you are the questions

1) Will your engine be compatible with MUGEN creations (chars, stages, screenpack, etc)? Maybe with a converter tool?
2) Is you engine currently (end-May 2009) in development? Or you have stopped it?
3) What % would you say is done, so far?
4) Is your engine OpenSource? If not, are you planning to release the source code sometime?
5) What are the main features you plan this to have? Will be multi-platform?
6) Would you cooperate with other fighting engine projects? Maybe fuse/merge your project in/with other, if you'll have the chance?
7) Have you got an official site and an official forum for you project? If yes, would you link them us? If not, would you have one?

thank you for your attention

thank you for your help.

He speaks English. There was an entire section for InfCat, exactly like Shugendo and XNA. It went down when the InfCat site went down & SofiyaCat stopped working at some point, then when he resumed working, he apparently didn't come back here and didn't update the English part of his site, so the section here didn't return.

And I have no more idea about how to contact him right now as you do, why would I. I just said I couldn't find any contact info on his blog. Of course his blog seems to allow comments, but I haven't checked if they are indeed activated.

I replied your email already.
I haven't update the google code portal recently because i dont see the need for it. Altought I have made huge changes to the engine since one year ago. Ill update the portal this june with something worth ( a online playable version).

Thanks for asking
