thanks for shared I didnt know this game was gonna update anytime soon  but who Usagi is?

In lieu of a detailed response, just do some googling.  He's an independently created and owned comic book character who has been around almost as long as TMNT but has basically one ongoing comic book continuity.

I like to approach to re-sizing the SR sprites. They really do seem at home in a traditional fighting game as much as a beat 'em up.

I know I've made the comment before but I think your original April sprite just looks like she's uncomfortable with all her clothes being that tight, heh.

Of course, it's your project, so follow your discretion on that.

For whatever reason, my brain is trained to visit this thread late December expecting major news. Hope the new year finds you well, dcat!

Just my personal preference, but I think her boots would look better if they didn't go all the way up to her knees.  The jumpsuit also looks so tight that it's basically painted-on and she risks ripping a seam everytime she even flexes.  Giving her a little bit more slack would be more toon-accurate and look a little more natural.

Happened to find some Splinter voice clips here and here, the former from the 2003 PS2 game and the latter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up.

Both sets of voice clips are mono and in WAV format, by the way.

That really is a great find!  I had no idea the first Konami game based off the 4Kids cartoon had been fully audio ripped!

Dcat, make sure you don't miss the Splinter voice clips that are interspersed in the game's "Story" folder.  It's a good source for additional clips for 4Kids era Turtles, April, Casey Jones, Shredder, and Baxter Stockman!

Nice work!  Yeah, I definitely think the Foot Clan lair is the most impressive with all the grunts looking on as an audience!  Is the April capture/free animation all part of dcat's character intro or did you hard-code it into the stage?
it's part of dcat's chars

What I meant to ask is "Does that particular animation play everytime you play Shredder in that stage or is it just the example chosen for that video?"

I love the Pizza Hut reference in the city street stage.

For the Big Apple 3am stage, I think the front layer girders are a bit too obtrusive.  If you could open up more visibility lines, it would help with the fighting.

I think most of the stages could also benefit from more cameos in the audience.  The Lair and April's Apartment seem a little empty with just Splinter and April.  And all of the exterior areas would look cool with various bystanders looking on.

I think the shifted angle of Splinter's head makes the whole thing look much improved!

Woah, I'm so impressed Rocksteady already has a functional character pack.  LOVE the sound clips especially!

HERES THE PROGRESS SO FAR. i changed some things last minute and it actually came out great. As for the strikers...if you happen to fight one of dcat's turtles..april will come out instead. neat huh!

Love the preview video and all the streams are appreciated.  The context-aware swapping out of a turtle striker for April is brilliant!

One thing I might recommend is making Splinter's snout a little longer and slightly droopy in side profiles like the bow, to keep him more "on model" and look a bit less like a dog. It's not a noticeable problem in most attacks, but for something like the bow, it would be a good opportunity to try and match it up.  Maybe tilt the ears back a bit too in the full standing position.

These might help for reference...
