Tried out phoenix, I gotta say spritework is damn good, some things can use some work but spritework is definitely dope.

Gameplaywise it's mvc which is decent but that needs a bit more work, can't put my finger on it but some things feel off.

overall it's actually a decent jean grey/phoenix, worth the download imo.

So it's been a min, truth be told my love for mugen kinda died out but HDBZ still has a spot in my wittle heart so eh why not? Here is a Funi dub for you all.



If I missed anything I'll get to it eventually OR someone else can add to to whatever i missed either way if they so please.

Before you ask I likely won't be doing a jap dub because A)Won't have time and B)Don't even have any old or current(Except DBFZ<--amazing game btw) dbz games with jap dubs to rip from to begin with.

So in a sense this is what I was talking about regarding the tag call outs.


In retrospect it's practically impossible for Luffy and Piccolo to interact legitimately unless someone is able to rip the One Piece x DBZ Extreme Bouten sounds but even then they're muffled to hell in the official game itself lol So the idea would be have goku call specific names in his universe and vice versa for luffy but when teamed with the opposite universe they say "Take over" or "You can take it from here" ect ect Or if no names are acquired you can simply have characters say "take over" or something but universally instead of to a specific character if any of that makes sense lol

Also another suggestion to make it sound more "official" is add some entering and exiting sounds in the tag too, similar to mvc after they do an assist, have they say something like "Good luck" or "Dont give up" ect. And when they enter the screen from a tag switch they say something in retrospect announcing they're on the way or however.

Again I'm just talking from a sound perspective, everything is dope trust me, the tag system is fine with or without some of the added sounds I suggested. Some sound voices for some characters I feel need a bit more tuning here and there but again me being nitpicky. All in all really hype for this project.

How do you make One Piece chars say DBZ chars' names or viceversa? That's the problem
Well I mean you can always wing it like I do XD for example J Stars voices can work for a few chars or as one suggested the Toriko X DB X OP thing can possibly work for a few and then after that you can simply have a voice rip of like Trunks saying "You can take it from here!!" when teamed up with Chopper or something. They don't necessarily HAVE to call specific names so to speak they can just say things like "Take over!!" Or "It's all yours!!" but again this is me just being nitpicky tbh lol

Or you can have it like DBZ characters call out specific names from their respective series using sounds from like xenoverse ect ect meanwhile when teamed with OP characters they only say "You can take it from here!!" err whatever lol OP Characters you can definitely use Burning Blood sounds for their side as they have  specific names they call out for practically everyone on the roster regarding OP I believe as well as random ones like "I'm done here!" Or "Take over!"

The tag is good as is don't get me wrong, I personally find that adding "Call outs" would add more to the excitement of the whole tag.

Again idk how you managed to make these "sorta" limited sprites move so gracefully and feel legit in gameplay but I'm certainly liking what I see.

I played the demo and it certainly is awesome.

Regarding sound some characters sound a bit low but that's just me being nitpicky.

Regarding the tag, have you considered adding certain "call-outs" when tagging in and out to make it seem a little more I guess official so to speak? Like when Goku is teamed with Piccolo he actually calls out piccolo's name when tagging out and such.

Oh my Kami, I never knew about this Kamek Helper code thing with combo announcers and long behold it freaking works lol Saved a lot of time for me. However, the only thing I need help with now is the whole MvC Knockdown screenbound dash thing for like one or two characters in my roster. So if anyone can help with that it's greatly appreciated.

So var 0 is the first attack. Since you've got that working your char doesn't use it... probably.
But you need to search for var(14) and V = 14 and v=14 and every other way you could set var(14) to make sure you're not already using it.
OR
you can just go ahead and switch the value off of 14 to something you know you dont use now.


type = parentvarset
trigger1 = root, numtarget >= 1  ;<<<means you're hitting P2
trigger1 = root, statetype = A      ;<<<means you're in the air, so this is for an air combo.
var(14) = 100
persistent = 0
Appreciate the help dude. I tried what you told me and still no avail XD, it's so weird because First attack works properly yet the others like Good, great, marvelous don't show up at all. Here is the character: Adon edit but ShinZakuro(Hope i spelled it right), statedef 6002 is where the combo announcer stuff is.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get the "First attack!" message and sound going at least with trial and error but the other messages like "air combo", "Good!" ect don't appear at all. Here's what it's looking like: It's Cyanide's code from Omega Red. I managed to implement all the animations needed it's just getting the other messages to appear that's the problem now.

So, I'm like trying to add that knockdown feature MvC has where you get smacked back or downwards and then the character dashes back on the screen? Anyone know how to do that properly without breaking a character or is that something you can't really "add" to an already made character??

Also I'm trying to add a combo announcer similar to Cyanides Omega Red, is that possible to do with an already made character??

Glad this is still going.

One tiny nitpick, that DragonHead fx thing for zoro when he does that downward special doesn't seem to fit especially since you're using MVC FX(More or less). But other than that I'm loving what I see.

just lettin you know that i've also been sending patches to jnp for improved voices for vegeta and gohan that will be used in the next build. i have your xenoverse rips as well as all the raging blast 2 rips form the ps3 version, we should work together on adding in alternate voices since while you already do good stuff, it irks me to see removed voice lines and making certain lines silent since the xenoverse rips don't have enough, that's when the raging blast 2 voices come in handy :D

Oh? Well hey more stuff to work with then, glad my rips aided and yeah raging blast 2 rips are online which helps A LOT lol I wasn't really 100%  happy with my Gohan one so I'm glad someone else took a crack at it and it's being used in the official update coming(I assume is coming at least lol)

Yeah that's cool with me man anytime you wanna do something hmu.
