This has to be programmed into the stage.  Mugen 1.1 only.

The stage has to be built for this effect for the same reason that widescreen is 4:3 minus the top and bottom.  Stages don't have standard dimensions.

So this is something that can be done by just messing with stage def parameters? I've had a look at the stage documentation and didn't find anything about vertical zoom.

To achieve that you need a stage with large bounds. Check out any of Margatroid's stages (Bamboo Forest and Hakugyokurou) and it'll give you the desired effect. Any stage that is capable of having zoomout beyond 0.7 will give you that effect. The higher you can jump and wider the stage, the better.

don't need to , it's basically always happen everytime you knock ken and ryu's down dust effect only shows up in the middle of the stage. it's the same for all his edits tried out his akuma not too long ago samething. it's a small thing you could just ignore it. still a good edit. his akuma is dope too. i'm surprised how small the file size of his akuma considering he got a lot of new stuff.

Ya, that's a 1.1 thing. You need to change explod codes for dust cuz postype parameteres have been depreciated. New codes :

postype = p1
space = stage
pos = Pos X + CameraPos X, Pos Y
facing = facing

I'm having an issue even getting the 2D Scaler to load.

Reshade just gives me a compilation error for them. Nothing I've tried has worked.

And actually, even trying to use he newest Reshade causes a major issue where theres a permanent black screen unless i toggle the effects off. But using an older version (like 3) works fine. Anyone else?


Yes I have the issue with black screen too. I use an older version for that reason. Frankly, reshade is ideal for graphic intensive games so updating is essential for those games. Mugen needs the basic filters and scanlines for those who are into that. So earlier versions would suffice as well.

Last suggestion. Check the path for the font location mentioned in the system. You may have to change that.

@Yue: Yea I know what's wrong. You need to download the Badaboom font for windows. You'll get it on Google. Download and install on windows and it'll show up.

Edit: Tried a fresh copy, no stage text is showing up anywhere. I can hear the selection but no text.

Um, shows up fine. Check if you changed/overwrote something in the fonts folder or system.def file.

Are you talking about stage image thumbnails? I haven't put in those cuz they're tedious to do. The stage names appear just fine though.

Few things that could be made better :
1. A larger floor, if possible as the the fighters are too low and there's no room to play with zoffset.
2. Animated fog and clouds to add a better effect
3. Birds in the distance are too clear. They're behind the fog and far away so should not be so clearly visible.

Your stages are nice. Too bad they don't accommodate boundhigh or else there would've been some cool zoom possibilities.

There's an AI bug on Knife Combo Super where its an infinite when it hits. You can't get out of it until you're KO'ed.

@PeXXeR: just add more colorfullnesss to option 2. Blurriness destroys the beauty of pixels so try to find a middle ground. Try using Gaussian blur instead of Smaa or fxaa and a little bloom and motion blur.
