This is some of the most impressive work I've ever seen for the engine.  It's right up there with what Mr. I has done to bring the modern SF characters into Mugen.

I don't comment on new releases very often anymore, but this stage is absolutely gorgeous.  Just looking at those screenshots had my jaw on the floor!

The name is mildly funny though, such a colorful stage named for the primordial darkness in Greek mythology.

Yeah, that's not super uncommon honestly.  Characters can change a lot between concept art and finalization.

Like it or not, a substantial story mode is an important part of the package now.

We're not in the arcade days anymore when you could chip in a few quarters and play for about 30 minutes.  It's expected that purchasing a home release for 70 bucks or so is going to afford you more content.  Street Fighter V did not do that, and it was part of the reason why it had such a poor launch, and part of the reason why that mistake has not been repeated.  Sega does clearly intend for VF to be one of their flagship brands, so it's unlikely that they'll release a low budget meat and potatoes fighting game package for a discounted price.  They already did that with Ultimate Showdown, and it's great, but they seem to be looking to release something of a much higher scope.

A story mode will not deprive Virtua Fighter of its identity.  The only thing that could do that would be drastic changes to the formula.

I am unfamiliar with Ikemen, but could you not use name triggers to read "heel" characters?  Maybe drawing a list from Kim's intro?

That is true.

However, in Cross Tag if you combo into the astral heat, it skips the counter and just activates the attack.  I have not downloaded Kamui yet, so maybe that's the case here too.

Looks nice.

However, I think you should use a different small portrait.  Baiken doesn't wear the eyepatch in her older design, so it looks a bit strange.

Hi.

A friend of mine is looking for the offline patches by the creator Netyzh, aka Net.  Namely the ones for Dio (Warusaki3), Ryu and Vega/Bison (POTS).

Net's Onedrive is still up, but these patches do not appear to be available.  The Wayback Machine has not helped me with this either.  The creator seems to be active as he has been working on Ikemen content, but I am not sure where to contact him.

I've tried searching for them elsewhere but haven't had much luck.  I know for a fact that they existed as I can find the release thread on a Chinese forum (which links to Net's Onedrive) and I've seen videos/streams of them in action.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I've never struggled this hard to find Mugen content before.

It's the original, non-remixed version of the Overworld from Super Mario Bros 3.  Not the biggest loss when you have a great remixed version, at least.

I'm at 55 Spirits and one song remaining.
Heard getting the last song was glitched, atm.


BTW, can anyone confirm if 9.9 also requires no continues at all? I haven't gone too much into it, but I've had to use tickets for continues and I always get to 9.8 no matter how high the intensity was before.

You can continue with a ticket and still get 9.9, but dying will negatively affect your intensity increase after the match so the later in classic that you use it the better.

I'm still not sure what the trick is that separates getting a 9.9 instead of a 9.8.  I've only gotten 9.9 with Dark Samus, but plenty of 9.8 wins with Link, Young Link, Samus, and Pokémon Trainer.  Pretty sure I do around the same level of accomplishment, quick wins, no deaths, collect as much as you can in the mini-game.

You have to "play well" by the game's standards which means taking less damage, finishing matches more quickly, so on and so forth.

Meh, not interested at all.  I really hope the rest of the DLC pass isn't all generic flavor of the month characters like Joker.  When's Banjo?

The game probably went gold a good while ago, and remember that Sakurai says whatever he needs to say to sell the DLC.  Bayonetta was already being developed while the ballot was going on, but she was still presented as the winner.

I expect nothing related to this game tonight however.
