New Select Screen


I think I want it to be consistent. Felt like this is good but it matches the character screen HUD. There will be animations like the HUD / text scrolling like in the game. Options might be also edited to something similar like this for consistency sake.

Well, I was bored and decided to do another custom screenpack.

Will begin on select screen animations / ports after.

VS Screen / Victory Screen will be done later when concepts come to mind, and lifebars should be heavily related to in-game HUD.

Sorry for double post. Last update. Please don't ask for a victory screen, it is based on Tekken 7 and they don't do victory screens!

Everything has been done.
However.. no victory screen because I feel like Tekken 7 never usually use a victory screen ingame. However, there is winning (arcade), survival rounds, continue, credits, updated simul bars, better KO/Fight sounds. Updated cursor. Links are updated in first post and this post.

EDIT 2: Sadly it asks too much for my computer. I can run Dying Light but not Heavy Mugen it seems. Maybe it's the 8Gb Ram? I cleaned all the processes before but.. No success. I'm mad.

Yeah you need at least 16gb ram sorry :(

I want to get back to character creating... so I'll see if I can find something interesting. Or maybe I should start doing stages..

Stages? Made by YOU?! Your FX work is always so amazing I have no doubt you'd make some breathtaking stages. Same goes for characters, I loved your previous work.

I would like to make 2 suggestions for this SP though, just based on what i've played.

-Is it possible to add some kind of transition animation for the select screen? After the glass background plays its animation, the slots sorta just "Pop" in immediately, I think it'd flow better if it had some kind of transition like a fade in or some kind of slide in where each slot sorta slides in, either from 1 direction or both that meet in the middle. I'm not sure if this is possible, but I've seen some SP's do it.
-The "Get Ready for the Next Battle" Announcer voice in the versus screen seems a tad low in volume.

Please redownload the SP (terribly sorry). I made a few quick updates since I got sprite textures rip from someone that DMed me (thanks Insginiawarfare). Going to update first post. When making lifebar portraits, don't make it too transparent since there is the thunder in the BG. I'm always available for portrait requests!

What's updated?
Versus screen transitions are much smoother. Select screen transition is smoother. Lifebar in general is updated (better timer and power guage fonts, round wins, lightning background behind portrait). Announcer voice volume fixed.

Hrm.....the announcer voice should be high volume. I guess I might need to fix that. Yeah for that problem with the transition I can do the lay out to appear though it means if you have different "slots" then it will differ. I'll see what I can do.

I have fixed the "sound issue" and made a better transition for both select and versus (I added the flame that appears when the portraits come up from the actual game. Updated lifebars with better round sprites / lightning fx on bg. Thank you for insignia for giving me the texture rips from the arcade version of Tekken 7. I will slowly upload it soon.

My own rendition of Tekken 7 SP. 4gb patched already. It's heavy so... need a good comp to run this ole bad boy. I'm open to doing portrait requests and will be able to help modify / customize your slots / etc. if needed. However.. I think I'm happy that I finally finished something appropriate.. and something that is good quality in 2020 lol.

Make sure to download all parts and extract them in the same folder.
Portraits are in the files but a template tutorial will be made later. Stage font is at font files and there is a template for that as well.

That's good. Any chance you have the sprites for the stages? I might want to make all the stages if you have the sprites for them.

Take your time with your characters and the game, no need to rush. I'll have to go back to the actual game and test it on my PS4 to see what can be updated / done.

I really admire tour project. The stage font is a real pain, buy it will be great. Good luck!

P.s. I like the first version of the stage font...but I vote for the second 'cause omho is more practical to do & use, especially if the final user would like to add more stages on it.

Don't worry, I have the intext stage select as well if you want to easily switch. I can post or give an alternate system.def for it to be customizable. The menu can also be interchangeable based on the latest one or the red/blue/green select screen. I'm planning to try to see if I can update the select screen cursor / select screen slots to make it more cleaner. Also make the lifebar round animations more "flashy" and I should be done.. hrm..

Edit: Basically done the lifebars and I've edited the select screen. Will update this post with screenshot/video later.

Idk if it's me but is there no gameplay mechanic with auto dash to the opponent like in the actual game. I don't recall that the dcf with a/b/c should automatically start a super. You should use those for specials and either leave one button for special because I feel like it doesn't have any special moves. The movement could of been coded better and that some moves / animations seem shaky.

Good start nonetheless but I'll see if I can give more feedback.
