Hmm, there's no real way when to say a store will or will not have them. It's kinda like how it was last year and through out 2007- It's hit or miss everyday almost.

I know for me, I had hunted for one for awhile too. My "quest" ended with a local Toys-R-Us saying that they might get a shipment on a monday back in September. I first called on a friday where they first mention it. The next day I go into the store and ask an associate in that department that says the shipment will be late and won't be there on monday. Finally, that monday, I decide to go there at opening and there was a small line of 8-9 people aready lined up! Anyway, I ended up being the next to last person to get one that day.


Holiday season is rough, especially when it comes to finding a popular item like the Wii. Online purchases are pretty much like how they were last year, with almost all stores out of stock EVERYONE is hitting up the internet for one. Best advice I could give you, if you REALLY want one in the near future, is to do your research on when local stores near you receive shipments and to get to know and befriend people at those stores. I lucked out with Toys-R-Us, but I had friends that I worked with at a Target store that were still there and looking for me. The only reason I wasn't able to get one sooner through Target was due to my schedule at work (ie- working on days they had a shipment of Wiis.).

But yeah, I hope that helps a little. I know it sounds rough, but you are either gonna go about getting it through one of two ways- by shear luck or by scheming & hunting, simple as that. I don't think you'll find a whole lot online for a good while, (Unless you're willing to take those ones that sell for $10,000 on E-Bay, lol) so keep checking those stores and hopefully you'll find one.

Very simple idea relating to New Years. Basically take any given character and display them as they might be for New Years. A great example of this would be something like SPO Ryu wearing a silly top hat, big 2008 glasses, and carrying a bottle of whiskey while passed out on a couch.

You know, normally I just sit back and watch as others attempt to debate with new contributors about sprites and code, especially since I'm not a contributor myself yet, but you're completely misunderstanding what is being mentioned here.

The reason why some "small developers" become angered when you use their sprites or code is due to the time and effort they put into creating these characters. Granted, the sprites are most of the time ripped from a company's game, but the sprite sheets, color or sprite corrections/edits, individual axis alignment, animations, and especially the coding is their own. The only two things that are even directly taken from a game are the sprites and the sounds, but even that's only as they are displayed in the game and not through the preproduction material. Everything else, aside from those two things, is created solely from the work of these small developers.

In the Mugen community, this is well known amongst most small developers, each knowing how much work they put into their characters and how personal each character does become because of this. Yes, you can modify a character or use parts of others to your hearts content, just don't release it to the public without getting permission to release the parts you used from those small developers for your character. It is not a rule, for now, BUT it is a common and respected practice to ask one another to use certain things of their characters when and if they should need things from their creations. It is also a common respected practice to understand some small developers ask that you not use any part of their creations at all or in the very least without asking them first.

I know that you say you wouldn't care if someone used parts of your character to build and release their's to the public, but you have to understand, not everyone feels the same way and like the real world, you have to learn to accept and respect other's opinions.

Imagine for a second we weren't talking about Mugen, but rather, your home. Now in your room you've got several things that belong to you and noone else, things that you worked hard to gain. Now imagine if someone came into your room and took a few of those things and said, "These are mine!". I'd bet you'd be pretty pissed if it was something you really cared about wouldn't you? Oh, but you say you wouldn't care right? So you don't care if someone comes into your room and let's say... takes your computer or how about the keys to your car? Would you be flattered then when some random person starts to take things from you without asking? I'd highly doubt that...

"Oh but that's different from Mugen, you can't compare!" Oh, but I can! It can take a lot of time and effort to afford and purchase a computer or a car. It is comparibly the same type of time and effort needed to create a character on your own. You put alot of yourself into everything you do, regardless of what it is, if you're not then you're using someone else's. "My dad bought my computer." or "This car was given to me by my uncle." are good examples of someone else's work, you gained these things, but more then likely you either asked for them or were given them because they felt you needed them. In the case with Mugen characters you either ask to use their work or it's given to you by them personally... Has either happened here for you? I'm gonna say no, am I right?

I hope you understand what I was attempting to convey to you here. Again the reason to why people seem against your release here is simply because you are using parts of other people's work that they put a lot of their time and effort into creating without you asking for permission. That is a major insult to the creative members of the Mugen community and a slap in a face to all the people who's work you are using to make this character.

My friend, I highly suggest that you reconsider your release, retract it for now, and simply ask those you used parts from before re-releasing your character. If they say no, then keep the character to yourself and work on something else or get rid of those parts and do it yourself, just that simple. If you can't do this, then I welcome you to the flaming pit of hell that will soon be this and every creation thread you make on here... I pray you like barbeque....

I vote that he throws people as his long range projectiles, like have him grab random people and throw them at his enemies. Personally I'd love to see him grab someone like Ryo, Sakura, or some random character sprites used for stages.

I've started and stopped with a few projects myself, but nothing really outside of compiling sprites and editing them.

What I'd really like to do is rip sprites from a game called Odin Sphere and attempt to make a character from there. My biggest problem with this is just really a lack of knowing how to rip sprites from PS2 games and knowing weither it is even possible. I think if I could get my hands on a good set of sprites from there I'd actually try to teach myself how to code and attempt to make a character from there like Cornelious or Gwendolyn.

Personally, I'd like to see and compete in an HD sprite competition too, but here are some ideas I'll throw out there-



Back when I was in school...

The idea behind this one would be to make versions of characters back when they were in school, be it college, high school, middle school, or hell, even grade. Most of the older characters could be done like angst high school teenagers or college alumni. If they are younger characters or still in some sort of schooling (ie- Sakura, Karin, Kyosuke, and the sort with high school) make them even younger like middle or grade school versions of them.


Idol Cosplay

The idea behind this one would be to take a character and have them dress up like their mentor/idol/teacher/master, etc. Some easy examples to this would be Rock Howard to Terry (though there's not much difference there), Sakura to Ryu, Zangief to Haggar (I think the influence storywise between the two is that way, though I could be wrong), Yuri to Ryo, and so on.

Really? As far as I knew it, none of the characters from Mario RPG carried over to any game after that. Can you remember which game that was?

That kinda bothers me now... If Nintendo actually "does" have the rights to those characters, then why haven't they used them in anything after that, y'know? It's not like Mario RPG was a terrible game like those "certain" Legend of Zelda games noone wants to remember, lol. I really think some of those characters and places would have been a great addition to the canon Mario universe (even though it seems like it keeps changing with ever single Mario based game that comes out). But eh, I guess some could wonder the same with Wart, Mouser, the Koopa kids, and some of the many other various characters from other Mario games that are no longer around.

So far it's looking like a good cast of characters in this one. Personally, I'd like to see Nintendo add in some more characters from older NES games like-

Mike Jones from Star Tropics
Little Mac from Mike Tyson's Punchout
Thomas from Kung Fu

I think Kung Fu was made by another company though and only published under Nintendo. If there isn't a licensing issue there, I'd definitely like to see this one. Aside from those, I'd also like to see Geno from Super Mario RPG, but I'm pretty sure that would be a licensing issue too with SquareEnix.

I don't know if this is something you may like, but I had an idea about the "Shock-and-Awe-ku Satsu" move.

Since the name is pretty unique and original, how about making the move abit more original in appearance then other SGS moves. My idea would basically work like Takazu Abe's "bathroom" move in appearance... without the homosexual images lol.

How about, instead of hit sparks on a blank screen, black and white images of Dan just striking poses scattered around the screen like Abe's move? The images would be black and white versions to drawings of him or maybe just black and white shots of his sprites in funny poses like maybe one of Dan standing back to back with this father, one with his hand hanging down in pain after doing that one mock Ryo punch move of his, one with Sagat face palming him right before he gets knee'd, etc...

Basically the way I could see it working, especially with the new pause in the move would be this- He grabs him like normal and the screen goes black. From there black and white images start popping up on the screen as the hit count goes up. Then it goes into the pause where he's catching his breath right before going back in. When he goes back in, just flood the screen with a ton of those black and white images with a sudden scream of "OYAJI!!!" and a shakey sign appearing of it as well right before the move ends. 

I don't know if you'll like this idea or not, but this is something I thought up after seeing that last video of it and the name.

Movie: Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Movie!

Review: I forget the title to the "movie" they watch, but who cares, you're really in it to see Mike, Crow, and Tom Servo bash the living hell out of a it! This movie takes every bit of the humor from the show and does it in style. If you're a fan of the show, you definitely MUST see this movie, you won't be disappointed!

No hot Asian females  :'( = -10,  "Government Eggo Project" = +10, A movie essentially about sarcasm at it's finest = +100.
