Dude this Shaft guy is excellant great game and you do him justice!! I only have one problem. I run Xmugen on an XBOX and I am limited by 64 mb of ram....this guy doesnt seem too large but there is some issue with his coding? or explod limit?  Do i have to edit my mugen cfg for him somehow mayhaps?  I was hoping you could maybe clean up the coding?  also where is this minotaur guy he sounds great!

link to a vid to show what i mean.....

shizmare and this stage are very small which is why i think his coding is just not optimizeD?

Hey.  I dont post here ofthen but i have the utmost respect for the brilliant minds here.  I had posted at XBOX scene but no luck so i figured why not throw this request for help out there.  I want to port an Xmugen game i have running through gentoo on XBOX to either 360 or ps3.  I have worked quite a bit on this.  I would be open to openmugen/shugendoo infinity cat etc i basically want to play the game i took so long to make with friends on a better rig.  I feel it is noble effort.  With this said this is definitely a difficult task from my research it appears m.u.g.e.n cannot run on apple pc's without vm ware or certain linux builds?  Is it possible to port mugen to ppc 64? Infinity cat?

I have 1 posssible entrances into each console.....

ps3 megabox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IosFuy83_c i spoke with devs who assured mugen would be possible but when i questioned them about ppc factor they seemed hazy....Reason i would like this as apposed to linux os is sony ps3 os is intact and via mem card this is portable... but i don't know if it can boot on ppc 64 ps3 architecture

XBOX 360

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8tQtpKKVao
i have a spare 360 that i can install linux os on....i want to work on this over the summer.  This seems most promising.  In both cases since the engine is 2d that is an advantage.  I have also toyed with idea of emulating windows tiny xp with qemu but imagined at that point my xbox might be running faster and was still unsure if that would even work nwayz.....

So basically any ppc mugen knowledge experience feedback good or bad is welcome....

I thought about this long and hard.  I have played 2d fighters since heyday of the chinatown ny scene in early nineties...i still love the whole deal and adore mugen....I feel mugen is like a pheonix thing for 2d fighting it died then rebirthed....if we can port in a speedy way (the mugen engine running fast) to newer home consoles we can help keep it going....
thx

juggernautburn This is the best edit I have seen in awhile.  I play mugen/xmugen with groups of people in NY.  I haven't heard so many oohs and wows in awhile.  I had a crowd around my t60p while working at ibm showing him.....

Please do more edits!  You are great! I wish you and yours well....

Wow.  Such a cool thread.  How did i miss this...

my xmugen channel...

my xmugen game setup for drag and drop....

http://hosted.filefront.com/seanp2500

I love Xmugen.  I have spent alot of time on it.  I would like to clear up some things...Mention some findings....and pose new questions...Well here goes:

1.  Any winmugen char works in xmugen.  There are some actually old threads about this on xbox scene.  Corrections I make: The coding for Movereverse is not supported in previously mentioned posts in the earlier linmugen.  I ctrl f and change these codings to movehit. I have also learned that the linux peruser in Risky's linmugen xmugen build is very very useful.  when new chars crash i can often record the crash and isolate down to line of code to resolve....

To me there is just no question due to the ai issues that one would want the earlier linmugen version.  Though this does involve more work on one's own part.  Winmugen to my knowledge is hack of linmugen.  It is unstable.  No time spent with the char coding will result in 100% stability.  Winmugen will just occasionally crash though one can debug.  Some errors actually seem to appear only in Winmugen after I studied closely.  Linmugen/Xmugen is superior way to play in terms of stability.  Ideal for arcade cab even.  It is completely possible to code a game that will never crash after hours of running various chars.  This is an impossibility on PC WINmugen...with this said....

So I hope we all in agreement that while we enjoy xmugen immensly lets get her running on all cylinders.  I know that in the past many suggested ram upgrades.  But all I can say is check out my channel.  I am running with soft mod 1.6 64mb and this hd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148139 ....After I ran Risky's build on this hd on E.  My xmugen saw incredible speed gains.  Just trying to spread the word.  Me and a group of friends in NY all see xmugen on several xbox's.  Mine is undisputed champ....

I know alot of people dislike 1.6 zoom.  this took awhile to win me over.  But boy had i errored...you can make your screenpacks 1.6 friendly through editing and the distinct zoom of the camera gives the sprites details on certain picture tubes that have to be seen to be believed...this is in comparison to pc mugen....

Res
Now I am confused.  In that game I post above not only will you see many chars you may have thought wouldnt work on first linux version but also hi res stages?!  Why does hi res at times look zoomed in on xmugen?  then others perfectly fine?  I have asked about this and am at a loss and currently this is what me and another fellow are questioning...Is there any way to apply this to xmugen....

to my knowledge hd would be tricky at best but I was able to run in s video....

EDIT:

And some don't know the rest, it gets even worse.  --;

Seems it's protected in a Zip that makes you use zlib.dll, meaning you can't fix codes, make palettes or anything.
And that my friends, isn't mugen anymore.

right on i couldnt say it better...
