Yes this is a literal working pause screen. Yes rematches are actually possible. The only thing that isn't working is the movelist cause I haven't coded it yet. This game is going to go far beyond your average full game.

As for how rematch works, well I literally recoded rounds and the timer to be able to advance rounds with the push of a button or restart the entire match. All of this within 13 hours or so of time lol.

In what ways will it mechanically resemble the two games that are crossing over, and how much of it will be its own thing mechanic-wise?

tbf, JL: TF didn't really have anything going for it in terms of mechanics, but I might as well just throw this question out there. Can't hurt, right?

It's mostly taking a lot from tmnt and integrating more cps2 like elements and improving input buffers. On top of that is whole RED system. It's a lot to unpack from a meta level but its very simple from the top looking down.

I'd say this is a good change. Justice League Task Force didn't have any grapplers, or any real archtypical playstyles for that matter. Well, Green Arrow was a zoner, I guess.

Keeping in the projectile might not work with the new playstyle imo. Maybe it'd be more cohesive if it was short ranged.

Nah, it's not a good projectile natively. thats why I only showed off the R.E.D. version. It has a slow start up and only average recovery. It's more or less there as another option so he doesn't get completely destroyed by zoners.

This what I meant by the X/cross like idea. As you can see this is ugly as hell so I was hoping someone would be able to either guide me to a better design and or help with making it.

edit: redesign. and a proof of concept select screen. Yes I'm learning a lot of about screenpacks. mostly that I suck at them.

Nope, and right now I could use assistance with the UI and assets ala the other thread. For example, I'm going to put a template for the lifebars there because if someone can come up with a better design for them that would be pretty nice lol. As well as me needing to figure out the "X" design. Basically I suck at art so that's the biggest area I need help with.

Is there going to be someone from the genesis version of TMNT Tournament Fighters?

Also, is the power meter going to go down if you throw the opponent, a la snes tmnt tf?

Edit: Weird thing happened where I accidentally submitted a post multiple times. I got rid of all of them. My bad.

Yes, only one because they have to be resprited to match the style of this game. The power meter went down over time regardless of what you did and no that mechanic is in the past where it should be.

That's right, 2 for the price of 1! If you've played with the other despero you may have noticed he felt really weird to be a rush down character. You'd be right, I've changed his moveset a bit to make him what he should have always been, a scary ass grappler! He is one of 2 chars with an actual air command grab! As for his wall bounce grab that normally does do damage but it was bugged at the time.

As for why Despero so soon? Well I had a poll that was before I started this and that's who was chosen along the next tmnt char im working on as we speak.

As you can see there's some slight changes from the custom version I have out vs this one. And as you also can see R.E.D. Attacks are free juggles. It's important to remember that you only get that first one if you get the first attack in a round. Anywho this is the Batman thread.

I know you explained a number of playable Characters and the gameplay but, I have a few questions.

1. You converted more Games besides TMNT and JLTF. Any guest character ideas?

2. Any Tag Team plans for the system?
If yes, Double Super Attacks, Team Supers, Strikers?
If no, why?

3. Special intro plans between Characters?

4. Interactive and Bonus Stages?
You should dig into some of ELECTRO's stuff if you want to have an interactive Stage or some kind of a bonus stage.

5. Any plans for a Game only, original Character?

1. At this point probably no. But that may change

2. Nah, got a whole game about that that's almost done. Hard to explain here so b I'll say just stay tuned and or follow me on twitch to see progress on it under kamekazebish

3. Oh boy do i. I'm going to have prefight dialogue quotes with a built in font system.

4. I'll probably have a poll on it. Generally speaking both games had it but if I don't need it I won't worry about it either.

Will the super meter not carry over from round to round, a la super turbo?

Right now it doesn't, I don't really see a reason to change it but when the alpha gets tested during at magfest I'll know whether it should or not.

So there's a bit to explain here. As you can see juggles do wonders for his combos and there's a lot more to explore just with this alone. His command grab is an obvious call back to ken that with the right timing you can get endless screw as a juggle. Also as you can see there's a RED super variant if you want to use all your resources in one go. The damage is far from final so don't worry about that. This thread is about any changes this guy specifically that may arrive as well as suggestions.

Another key thing this game has is that everyone will have a dedicated command grab input special, and yes there is a R.E.D. variant. They are meant to be another layer of offense to keep you on your toes. This game wont really have overheads mix ups so this helps close that gap of offensive pressure that both players can react to at a high level.

However, there are characters that get additional properties such as a command grab that can be done in the air. There will only be 2, one from each side, with this special property. They are Wingnut, and Despero. Wingnut because he will be a strongly air focused character and Despero because he will fit the grappler archetype more so than anyone else in the game.

This post is to breakdown the R.E.D. system so that when you eventually get to test, which you will, you'll know whats going on.

Essentially anytime you get hit a percentage of that damage becomes red life like you've seen in many games before this one. However said life is both your asset and your ally. It can be used to use an enhanced version of both your special or super depending on how much red life you have at your disposal. When you're able to use it the red life will flash white. When you use the enhanced special/super it will deplete some or all of it, this keeps it from being overpowered. Also if you score the first hit in a round you get a free red special which is always used last. So if you save it and manage to get access to another you'll have 2! Momentum can give you a a lot of leverage or turn the tide, but never with the press of one button. Just enough to help you get started on the path to victory.

There will be a HUD to inform of what exactly is possible for specific things.

If at any point you get counterhit you will lose all of your red life so patience is everything!

So right now I haven't really decided on what hitsparks I want to use for this considering both games were very minimal on that aspect. I probably will remain in area but if I post anything related to that it will be here for discussion and or improvements. The main thing im working on is the title screen which will combine the two logos.

I want to ask about stages. What kind of stages are you planning to use?
It'll be stages from both games with some being slightly altered to fit the theme of the plot I'm going to post in a bit.
