lore wise, Dong Hwan is the rebel, unconventional, was he a genius I think? he might have learned wall jump even just to spite his father,say just by watching Choi.
Jae Hoon is the traditional conservative, if daddy didn't teach wall jump he didn't learn it, 100%.

I was tinkering back with this stance I made for NGBC Ryo, when I decided to convert it to KOF Ryo, this was more work than I envisioned, and I envisioned a fair amount of it. I tried to animate the hair... I'm not really feeling it, too much secondary movement already anyway, but here it is.

Thanks! I think it would mesh alright, might need a couple frames of transition possibily, I dunno.

So this run cycle was an idea I had uhh almost a decade ago, damn, I had the legs done, edited from Eiji I think, but then left it there not confident enough to give it life. Picked it up again and well here it is. I'm not sure it "works" as intended, but I am always tinkering it and just want to call it done.

I was revisiting briefly Wild Ambition which is a game I'm quite fond of, and got hit by the itch to try and edit a few sprites of Ryo just the way Mr. Karate is in that game, in the illustrations by Hiroaki that is, the in-game model is quite simplier. The strange anime hair is hard to convey, there's no illustration of the back and in the model is kinda too much so I felt like simplifying it. I also skipped the kanji on the shoulder because when playing from the left it's not facing the camera, and I feel that's a mighty good justification.

Maybe you don't need the answer anymore, but there's a bunch actually, I dd somewhat of a revision and checked certain details in most frames. You could check the date, they are all over honestly.

Ehi thanks all, yeah it's pretty nice to see them in action.

so I did something about snake arms in the past but I never looked at it as a whole, quite a few skips in the position of the legs I didn't care about, here's my current edit:


By checking my old set someone might have seen I tried to do the Shovel DM from Wild Ambition, what I did there was to heavily edit the Cool Choi attack and I guess it looked alright in virtue of the original animation being pretty great, but I never felt satisfied with it as it didn't look very shovel-y and didn't feel like I could push it further back then. Here's my current attempt, retooling the cyclic part and with a new beginning and ending:


This gif doesn't not have sparks but the set is updated and complete and has everything.
Btw I did some slight changes in the set, some details for consistency and flowing, some face details here and there, a few extra minor animations and transitions, so check it out if you were using it.

So yeah I thought I was just finishing some animations / developing a couple concepts but giving a look at the set there was still some things that I wanted more "flowy" I guess, so here's a few extra transition frames for his reversal(which is also renewed in CVS/14 style). Also here's a WA/KOF14 grab animation for his climax/neomax/hsdm Drill, both miss and hit. More to come...

I have one big animation to refine, and a few small ones, hopefully soon I'll release them as well.

The rocky you talk about. His kick animations were off. Would love to see those kicks replaced.

The creator of the rocky said he loved doing robots but humans were a major problem.

I see, well most of my plans revolved around Maxima edits for the most part, Rocky kicks in Robo Army were reasonably similar imo, I still have some very rough ones but no kicks anyway.

For the ride that never ends, I had these Yamazaki animations inspired by KOF14 in the works for a while, and here they are, DP D obviously a reworked CVS animation, a simpllified fwd B, YEEEAHHH jump CD and a reworked violent claw with a proper ending. I have some more stuff to finish and then I'll update the set at at a later time.



Really nice Rob sprite, although if he ever appeared in one of the classic KOF games, the amount of tattoos on his body would be simplified a tad to make him more viable to be animated.
Thanks, and I agree, my mind also goes on viability most of the time. Would be hard not to keep the guns though.

I posted in the past a similar RB stance for Krauser, but the chest movement was exaggerated and the arms were mostly static and it didn't quite work out. Now I tried it again with more subtle movement for both body and arms, I believe this is my best shot. Everytime I have to work on hands at this resolution I have a renewed respect for pixel artists that know what to do with them.


Would be cool to be able to use this, only it’s looks as though he has a ponytail. Unless you have a sheet of this version.
ohh I can see that, there's both a separation and the shading suggests the form. I'll try to fix it in a bit.

So this was a project at a time I guess til I got bored, and I think a Rocky came out about that time in mugen with pretty nice sprites, and I lost interest even more. Looking at it now, the arm and especially shoulder design from the 2k striker is pretty convoluted and kind of hard to convey properly in the resolution given, or maybe I just don't like it. If I had to do it now I'd change the design to a simpler form, or directly to the Robo Army design with just 3 holes in the shoulder and different details, just tried this in the last sprite.


I think Rocky is a robot, walking is not suitable for it (?) maybe gear sliding is more suitable. :)

Rocky walks in Robo Army though! But for running, I would do as you say.

Thanks, and yes that's how it is for small movements, suggest it with shading and actually move parts very sparingly.

Thanks, I am a fan of your sprites. No problem for now, I opened the vault and am finding stuff I didn't even remember that just needs polishing of various degrees, but also started some more animations because why not?

Here's a simple edit of Kula in more adult proportions/face, inspired by early beautiful Hiroaki pictures where she's clearly a young woman, then there's Urien and Yung Mie from Karnov I think?

This Is just a refresh of KOF96 Vice stance, some minor editing. the howling animation has 1 or 2 extra frames and some editing for better flowing


This is Goenitz missing the super grab, normally he doesn't have a proper missing animation so it tends to be awkward to me, I believe there's only 1 new frame here but I think the animation works well enough
 

These Diana edits from Foxy I made as a test, Diana has so many details. I believe I used the palette she has as Kula's striker, probably a mistake cause of limited skin colors


I noticed some shading mistakes on Geese and Rugal sprites so I corrected and uploaded them again
