You won't be in any trouble if the mugen content you're selling is original "something you created from scratch" and no character like angel ken or rage akuma are not fucking original, I also think the people that like selling mugen don't give a shit about the content their selling, I bet those shitheads search the name of the character on google, download it and burn it so it can be delivered as soon as possible without caring it those are the latest character versions, all the do is just sale a pile of outdated content most of the time.

I think what he was implying was that people would use the service to create compilations that, after looking as mugen's documentation, could have very easily been done by themselves for free in as little as 1 hour.

Irregardless of this, any time money exchanges hands over mugen stuff that uses copyrighted IP, be it a donation or otherwise, is just asking for trouble, imo. Paying for custom games like this, unless they use 100% original content, can easily be construed as a work for hire and opens you up to legal liability. When it comes to mugen stuff, I try to stay as far away from money exchanging hands as possible, regardless of intention.
