I guess Capcom couldn't get it to look right without having a full color editor like in CvS2 , or the way the old sprite used colors in several places made it look bad (not that some of those screenshots of custom HDR palettes look good either).

Also speaking of animation..

I DON'T like the new animation style for Sun and Moon series.... I thought X/Y&Z series was better than Sun/Moon style.  They made Ash look younger than X/Y style. They must have lost the budget somewhere.

The character designs are a match with the games' style, and there's been a bunch of nice shots in the first few episodes.

Apparently all of the Pokemon have walking and running animations. Probably scrapped due to space and memory restrictions. Most likely saved for future games.

Yeah...you can see these whenever a Pokemon appears in Poke Finder. The other part of this tweet chain is that he's mis-identified the really low quality LOD models that the game uses for shadow casting calculations, they don't have textures or UVs because they're just meant to be silhouette.

imo the animations were made for general use by all parties that use these Pokémon models (basically every other console game and app) and Game Freak imported them while they were deciding what to put in the Poke Finder scenes.

Since the PS4 release of KH 1&2 runs at 60fps I hope they can also fix the drive form loading times in 2 and we finally have the perfect version of KH2 Final Mix.

Heritage For The Future has an extensive developer menu left in the ROM, which includes a full sprite viewer that you can activate with emulator cheats.

With the Region set to "Development", hold Light Attack as you enter service mode (F2). The OBJECT Menu lets you scroll through each character with Up/Down and advance frame by frame with Light/Medium buttons. The P1 Start buttons let you switch between sprite 1 or 2 so you can change it to something that doesn't get in the way of the character.

Some effects might get hidden by debug text, though.

^to be fair Gen 2 mons are pretty forgettable.much like the whole of Gen 2
Wobbuffet, Sudowoodo, Tyranitar, Honchkrow, the legendary dogs AND Ho-Oh are all gonna be at your intervention.

Also I can't wait to see Alola Pikachu.

The English trailer for whatever reason doesn't include the parts where a normal Pikachu & Cubone appear to evolve into their Alola-form evos, so they probably don't have one.

There will probably be surplus Vulpix & other vanilla mons up for trade online once people start transferring their Gen 6 / Virtual Console Gen 1 other with Pokemon bank, like all of the other Pokemon you can't easily encounter at first.

1.0 didn't use hardware acceleration so performance was all CPU-bound whereas the 1.1 render hits the GPU for stuff that's much faster. idk what CPU you have to determine if it's acting unsually slow or not.

I think sidescrollers benefited a lot more from the arcade experience where you could play the game for a short while with a few credits and operators would bank on having lots of people come up to the machine. Even at the time of the SNES and Genesis, games like SoR and Final Fight did not sell nearly as many console copies as SF2 and Mortal Kombat. Which is why they're mostly relegated to indie games or smaller digital-only releases, or evolved into the 3D action game genres.

I would advise against straight copying games as old as Art of Fighting 1 because the general quality of everything and experience of the artists wasn't well refined in the early 90s.

Does it happen to only character against many opponents, or many characters if hit by the same opponent?
If it's one character doing it to a lot of opponents they may have badly coded custom states that is causing them to go into a buggy wakeup state.
