You cannot change those mode names
That is completely false.

Open system.def in the folder of the screenpack you're currently using and look for the "[Title Info]" section. You'll see a section that looks something like this:
Code:
menu.itemname.arcade = "ARCADE"
menu.itemname.versus = "VS MODE"
menu.itemname.teamarcade = "TEAM ARCADE"
menu.itemname.teamversus = "TEAM VS"
menu.itemname.teamcoop = "TEAM CO-OP"
menu.itemname.survival = "SURVIVAL"
menu.itemname.survivalcoop = "SURVIVAL CO-OP"
menu.itemname.training = "TRAINING"
menu.itemname.watch = "WATCH"
menu.itemname.options = "OPTIONS"
menu.itemname.exit = "EXIT"
You can edit the names to whatever you want or leave inside the quotation marks blank to disable the menu option.

Good question. Considering half of the people here I don't know and the other half have already had turns, I'm a bit lost.

When will you update your Venom? It's one of the best Venoms out there, but you said you were going to update him.
Wait... you lost Venom on that hard drive crash, right? :(
-Well I managed to salvage the redone SFF, but not much else. Depends on whether I have the motivation to recode everything again.

- What's worse in Castlevania 3, the infamous Stair Room in Stage 9 or the Water Stream room in Stage 9?
- Qualities you look for to determine how solid a platformer is?
- Hardest game you've ever conquered?
-The stair room wasn't even that bad. The water room (mainly those damn birds) made me want to choke a bitch.
-How well it controls and how well it's designed. I'd rather play a game that's difficult due to strategic placement than a game that's difficult from poor design choices.
-That's a bit of a tough one, I've played a LOT of games back in the day. Beaten quite a few as well, like TMNT1, Battletoads (no warps), JP SMB2 (no warps.... NEVER AGAIN), Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Castlevania 1 and 3 (the hell with 2). The hardest one? I'll edit an answer later. (Just wanted to get these questions answered, so everyone doesn't think I'm ignoring them.)

-Your thoughts on the next shows: Doctor Who, Space Dandy, 2010s anime, The Flash, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Constantine
-If you know/follow/like Doctor Who, which is your favourite Doctor and why??
-In the past you made a hit reviving a very obscure game like Kakuge Yaro with your Tetsu and making him and all its crew viral. If you get back of retirement and get the possibility of make it again, which other obscure game would you choose and which char would be the first to make??
-Is Mad Max Fury Road the best movie of all times?? Or maybe it's Kung Fury??
-Have you think to make a website of your own to host your creations?? Not necessary to make something new, more like a downloadable museum like POTS' site or something, a place where people can DL your creations and stuff
-Which character(s) would you want to get back in a new game/update of Guilty Gear Xrd??
-I haven't really seen the new Flash and Constantine. Doctor Who is pretty awesome, and Space Dandy was entertaining. I actually broke my Jojo hymen with the anime, kind of makes me wish I'd gotten into it sooner. As far as 2010s animes go, the most notable one for me was No Game, No Life. Also, really glad Assassination Classroom finally got an anime.
-David Tennant was the doctor when I started watching, so he kind of holds a special place for me. However, Matt Smith was a pretty damn good doctor as well.
-I had thought about making the characters from Kyukyoku Sentai Dadandarn/Monster Maulers before my old harddrive went under. Either that or some Type Wild characters to celebrate my new Pokemon addiction. :P
-Haven't seen Mad Max yet, but Kung Fury is the most beautiful thing I've seen in years.
-RandomSelect is fine for that. I pay for the webspace anyway and I can access it anytime I want, so there's really no point in having a separate site.
-Either Baiken, Testament, or Jam would be nice, but all seem highly unlikely. I've pretty much made my peace with Ramlethal at this point.

Why is everyone bitching their brains out about FE: If's face-touching thing when there are other games that have done far creepier shit with touchscreens (but with underage girls and not just the face)?

What do you think a sitcom in which Shadow, DmC Dante, and Hatred Guy share an apartment would be like?

Your thoughts on the Konami debacle?
-Bitches gotta bitch? It's pretty much the in-thing to complain about things on the internet these days. I'm all for free speech, but most people these days just are just disagreeable for the "notice meeeee!" factor. Personally, I'll save my thoughts until the game actually comes out.

-I'd be afraid from all the cut marks I'd get from watching an episode.

-I don't wish failure on anybody or anything, but they really need to carefully consider their next move, for their own sake.

here are some simple questions for ya

  • what was the worst mugen character you have downloaded
  • what was the best mugen character you have downloaded
  • and has the mugen community changed or is it still similar to the past

-I'm pretty particular about what I download, so I haven't really downloaded anything supremely godawful. Even then, it'd be kind of rude to single one out.
-Until the day I die, Amber Lamps will forever be the greatest character I have ever laid eves upon.
-It's changed and remained the same at the same time. It's a lot like how the world has advanced, yet we keep making the same primitive mistakes.

-Now that dampir is updating, CS-ing and polishing blair's sprites, do you have any plans for her?
-Which RTS strat games you love?
-Favorite tabletop games?
-Do you consider yourself a rancorous Allan Moore, a Crazy Frank Miller or a Happy Walt Simonson?

-News to me. It's a possibility, but for now I'll probably let the youngsters handle it. :)
-I've never been much of an RTS fan. Played a bit of Starcraft back in the day, but that's pretty much behind me now.
-Chess, Spades, Bid Whist. That's pretty much as "tabletop" as I get. :P
-Walt Simonson, definitely.

- Where is my public release of Infinite? :wacky:
-Are you a little old to be believing in fairy tales, bro?  :wink3:

@XCB: What are the biggest challenges a creator faces when making Marvel Style characters, and why do you think it's a style so hard to get right?
-It's really a style I've come to dislike, to be honest. There are a lot of intricacies to consider, and you literally have to abuse custom states in order to make many things work right. It takes quite a bit of dedication to do properly.

-Namesake?
-List of video games that you would call a "beautiful work of art"?
-Why u no update you deviantART? :P
-Most beloved comic book/manga protagonists and antagonists (feel free to choose whichever one)?
-What are your feelings about the direction modern fighting games are taking?
-Obscure video games you'd recommend this time-traveler to play (as long as they're not as creepy as fuck or awkward it's fine) :)

-XCalibreBlade - a play on "Excalibur", King Arthur's legendary sword. I shortened it to just XCB after being confused with XCalibur BladeZ, a famous DoA player. (I play DoA, but I suck.)
-I love Vanillaware games. Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Dragon's Crown. They're like sex for the eyes and enjoyable games as well.
-Oh my. I do have one of those, don't I?
-I was a big Witchblade fan back in the day. (The anime was meh, just my two cents there.)
-The fact that they're becoming more "user-friendly" is nice, but I do feel they could do better with how they handle patching and DLC.
-Threads of Fate/Dewprism is an old favorite I usually recommend to people. It's a little gem by Square that I feel should have gotten more attention. And a sequel.  :( If you want to go back even further, Kid Dracula for the Famicom/Game Boy.

- looking back how do you feel about the whole "don't share my work" attitude from back on the mugen dark ages?
-Once you upload it to the internet, you've pretty much lost any and all rights/control/possession, so there's that. Moral of the story: Don't want anyone to have it? Keep it on your hard drive.

Well, this is a surprise..... O_o Kind of just learned about this a few minutes ago.

- What got you into MUGEN?
- Music genres you listen to?
- Do you think life is good?
-I'll have to refrain from answering this one for now as it'll kind of take away from something being done with Kamekaze very soon.
-I listen to a little bit of everything actually, but my favorites are Jazz, and 90s/early 2000 Rap.
-I do. Life is basically what you make of it, so I strive to make mine a good one.

Origins of P.I.I.Y.M slogan?

Still have some Capri for me?

Have you at one point wanted to give your other works a trial system like Blair?

Back in your vid days, how often you used revostock?

Your thoughts on Mugen's growing popularity in Japan?
-Which one: The original or the family friendly? :P
The original one pretty much was an extension of my website called Sukmaidyk (I was embracing my heel turn in full force back then), so I went for something similar. The changed name came when I finally grew the hell up.

-I always keep the Capri well stocked, bruh. You should know this.

-I actually was going to give one to Ming-Ming, but then I got high lazy.

-Maybe two or three times, and then reuse assets liberally.

-I think it's pretty great, to be honest. Though in retrospect, it's not too different from the American community. You still get the good, the bad, and the "stare at the screen for about 10 minutes trying to figure it out"

How's my nigga?

-Chillin', dawg. I'm so chill that my sodas never need ice.

Poison of choice?
How does it feel to be a dinosaur like me? :P

-The kind that gives slow and agonizing death.
-Feels like I'm patiently waiting for the ice age. But in seriousness, I'm thankful to be an old soldier that's still kicking.

Why do people keep drawing Splatoon porn?
-Because sadly it's the internet. If it exists, there's probably porn of it.

-What gave you a good idea to make Tetsu as he is? (Asked cause even though I've never played Kakuge Yaro, I'm pretty sure he wasn't like that. He's still fun though)

-Your thoughts on the whole "Tetsu edits" back then? (And that includes Silent Storm if he's one)

-How sane  were you when you made that one fake Blaque?

-What do you think of Street Fighter V?

-What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

-Basically the whole premise behind Tetsu was to take various bits and pieces of things that I thought were fun and exciting in fighting games and try to combine them together. It was never meant to be overly serious, but just a fun, adrenaline rush type of character.

-It would take waaaaaaaaay too long to explain the whole Silent Storm/Tetsu semantic, but as far as the Tetsu edits go.... let's just say things got a bit weird. It was pretty amusing, though.

-As brilliant as that was, that was actually the work of my co-administrator Sion/Dizzy/ayaka/too many damn names/etc.

-I hope it succeds, and seeing Charlie definitely made me happy. I'm just waiting to see how things develop at this point, though.

-42

Is Mikuru still your waifu?

If not, who is your waifu?

What does your wife think about your waifu?
-Nah. I'm way over that.
-I guess the closest thing would be Ramlethal. Her design really appeals to me for some reason.
-When I find her, I'll be sure to ask.

-how is you life now that you abandoned this lamentable hobby  :sugoi:
-if you had the change to return, which of your characters you would update for 1.1
-your view nowdays on the community, from the old days when you retired for now
-your favorite creation
-now that its possible to create pixel shaded sprites using blender and now 3ds(thx to a certain plugin), you think that this will help more the community, and maybe future and unique chars like death from darksiders, or even bayonetta
-In my opinion, it's not really lamentable at all as long as you have the right reasons for it. I enjoyed making things, which is all that matters.
-Before I was supposed to officially retire, I had made plans to update a bunch of my characters one last time. However, my hard drive on my laptop died, so I lost a lot of those projects. However, I did manage to salvage a few characters, one of them being a somewhat tanned chinese girl, so you never know....
-Like the "How'd I get into MUGEN" question, I can't answer that right now.
-Dig Dug, hands down. Blaque would probably be second just for the fact that she probably gave me the most entertainment.
-The community has the weapons, it's just up to them to use them.

The only way I know is a tad tedious. Basically you wait until the voice you want plays in-game, then reset and go to the sound test, go to a certain number (I forget offhand, but it's always the same number) and replay & record the voice there. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Good Job. I suggest you just say this is your own custom version(though I'm sure anyone downloading this should already know..) to suppress the cries for sf4 accuracy. First 2d Juri in mugen Kudos man keep at your own personal style dude.
As the MUGEN "big brother" of sorts, I feel I have a responsibility to address this. Having a personal style is fine and all, but a lot of the time, MUGEN creators tend to forget something very important when implementing such a thing. Something called "Core Gameplay".

It's fine if a character isn't 100% accurate, they should still retain the general feel of the character in question. An easy example of this is PotS: even with all the liberties he took, the character at its core still feels familiar - something that a lot of the people using his "style" have neglected. Making a character in a personal style should never be used as an excuse for a character not acting like it should. Ken does not play the same as Ryu. Iori does not play the same as Kyo. Little things do matter.

You really can't make a character like this just by watching videos. Juri has a bunch of little nuances that you can only really discover by playing around with the character. I'll give you just a few issues I found from 2 minutes worth of testing.

Normals:
  • Standing MP is supposed to move a step forward on the first frame. It may seem like a little detail, but it's important gameplay wise as the move can be Kara-cancelled to extend her throw/special attack range a little
  • Jumping forward MP not only knocks down, it's supposed to put the opponent in a juggle state.
  • Close HP is also supposed to put to the opponent in a juggle state. Also, while it can be special cancelled, the move actually doesn't come out until her feet touch the ground.
  • Sekku (Forward+MK) should put her in the air after the second frame.

Specials:
  • Shikusen (Dive Kick): Each button is supposed to change her dive arc. I can do Second Impact, but where is Third Strike? The EX version has Third Strike, but where's the wall bounce? Not as important, but as of Ultra, Shikusen cannot be used from a backwards jump, but this is up to your discretion.
  • Senpusha(Pinwheel): LK is supposed to do 2 hits, MK/HK is supposed to do 4, and EX is supposed to do 6. MK and HK are supposed to knock down on the last hit. Startup of each version is different (LK version is fast enough to combo from a LP/LK, but MK/HK shouldn't work.)
  • Kasatushi(Counter): I'd suggest coding it as a ReversalDef instead of a HitOverride. EX version should be the HP version, except you can control her jump.
  • Fuhajin (Fireball): The biggest offense by far - YOU CAN'T STORE HER FIREBALLS. This is the attribute that makes Juri who she is and what makes her gameplay so unique. Also, the fireballs hitboxes are WAY too big. MK fireball should miss completely on crouching opponents.

Supers:
  • Fuharenjin (Fireball super): Each button changes how the super is performed. LK makes her stay in place. MK makes her more forward on the first kick. HK makes her flip backwards before executing the move.
  • Feng Shui Engine: To put it bluntly, Feng Shui engine is NOT Custom Combo. She's bound to a L-M-H combo path. It also changes the way some of her attacks work (her dash goes farther, Sekku has more hitstun, etc.)
  • Kaisen Dankairaku: After she leaves the ground, it should miss the opponent. It should also juggle falling opponents, which is the main use of the move. As much as people will hate me for saying this, it also executes way too fast. KD isn't a reversal super, but more along the lines of a "punish" super. It's not designed to save your ass, but to punish your opponent for making a mistake. Also the presentation is a bit.... bad.

Speaking of stages:

Might tweak the fire/colors a bit, but it turned out surprisingly well for a "guilty pleasure" (I could have easily gotten Krauser's FF2 stage from the same pirate game I ripped Terry's from, but I love his Real Bout stage/theme too much).

Still wondering if I can get away with the choir sample in the BGM.  --;

Isnt' that Hong Kong from Turbo instead of SFA2? :O
Yeah, between that and Mr. Mouse Cursor repeatedly appearing in the shots, you can probably tell I was a bit tired when I made that teaser.

Totally hyped. About the stages though, would you consider the old school NES stages released by Cenobite:
http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/all-street-fighter-4-stages-nes-pirate-game-146095.0.html
It's not a bad suggestion, but outside of the stages for the two "interlopers", we were mainly sticking to SF series stages.

Please god tell me that her U2 is FINALLY WORTH SOMETHING!
It's the exact same speed. And her U2 has always been worth something, you just have to know how/when to use it. It's not an Ultra that you can just whip out and hope for the best.

Is youtube support not up yet? From reading the instructions it should pop up, but I keep getting an error. I mean, it could be Xbox's fault.

It works on PSN, but it's really goofy. Basically, they give you a code which you type in at http://google.com/device/ which authorizes it to upload to your account. (You mean you can't upload unless you have a PC nearby? ....the fuck?) Not sure how it works for XBox.

Also, air throw combos are my new crack. :P Still maining Juri, but I definitely plan to spend more than 5 minutes learning Decapre.
